In this developer update video, Calin Ardalan walks through the largest Space Flux patch to date, released on Steam. The update adds a solo Horde Mode where players defend against waves of five enemy types in fully destructible environments, and introduces the Backrooms map—a liminal‑space labyrinth that can also be played in Horde Mode. A new playable character, Laughing Falcon from the Bird Audition series, joins the roster. The Head City map is redesigned for exclusive horizontal loops. The game now supports Steam Deck, and the online experience receives extensive upgrades: improved networking, a Quick Play feature, a full server browser, auto‑server hosting, customizable match timers, 2v2 team deathmatch, and split‑screen play. Additional polish includes new keybindings, numerous bug fixes, balance adjustments (notably a detonator nerf), and fresh voice lines. Calin also highlights community aspects such as global leaderboards, Discord integration, and thanks players for supporting the early‑access journey, ending with a light‑hearted sign‑off.

Hello, I'm Calin Ardalan, the developer of Space Flux. This update is the biggest one yet, and it's available right now on Steam. We have a shit ton of new content to go over, so let's get right into it. Introducing the new single-player Horde Mode! Stand your ground against wave after wave of head boys. With 5 enemy types. In all impossible spaces!
Sorry.
Since everything in SpacePlex is destructible, these critters will break through walls, so build up your defenses. Compete for the global high score! Each map and space combination has its own leaderboard, so there are lots of high scores to go after. What the hell?
Aaaaaah!
The Backrooms is a brand new map in Space Flux. Get lost in an infinite labyrinth of abandoned office space. It's a new type of impossible space called liminal space. You can even try it in horde mode. Ah! Voiced by none other than Danny Matrigrano.
Great fish do not swim in shallow waters. Fish love me, women fear me. Your package could not be delivered. Our egg.
From Flonch's beloved Bird Audition series, it's Laughing Falcon. He's the second Flonch character we've added to the game. I did a lot of work on the maps over this update. In particular, I redesigned Head City to be exclusive to horizontal loops. Space Flux is now on Steam Deck! With this update, I really focused on improving the online experience. Online games run smoother now thanks to better network, and Quick Play makes it easier to get into a match. Quick Play puts you in the first available server. Alternatively, you can browse a server list or make your own. You've got a lot of settings to play with when you're making a server. Match timer: set the time limit or disable it altogether. For Team Deathmatch, use the 2v2 teams option. Auto server allows you to keep your server running 24/7. This starts you in spectator mode and allows other players to fight each other while you host. And once it starts, you don't have to do anything and it'll automatically keep the matches coming. So make your own auto server if you want to host. Joining a server Join is easy. our Discord to find homies to play with. It's the easiest way to get a game going. Yo, we have 420 members! Or play split-screen with your friends. I fixed bugs. Lots of bugs. Added keybindings, more settings, and made changes to the guns. They're now as balanced as they've ever been. Had to nerf the detonator. I mean, who's who's even gonna complain? Check the Steam patch notes for the current balance stats. 私が楽しんで作成した。I hope you enjoy this update as much as I've enjoyed making it. このアップデートを楽しんでいただきたい。 Thanks for sticking with me this whole time throughout early access. Till then, happy flexing and say no to drugs. This is Calin signing out.
