I'm flying to the U.S. tomorrow. It's after midnight and I'm still packing. I didn't make a packing list, so I'm just kind of winging it. I tend to overpack, but this time I'm gonna try my hardest to pack light. I want to fit everything in two suitcases, one checked bag and one carry-on. Wish me luck. Fighting! Update, it's 1:30 AM and I've lost all motivation, so I'm calling it a night. I'll finish up in the morning. Good night! I'm on the first leg of my trip today. I'm at the KTX station because I'm taking the train from Busan to Seoul. I made it to the platform and we depart in 5 minutes, so let's hop on the train. I got off the train at Gwangmyeong Station and now I'm gonna take an airport bus to Incheon Airport. I'm at the bus stop waiting for the bus to arrive. This bus goes directly to the airport and it's so comfortable. The seats even recline. Finally, I'm at the airport. My plane departs from Terminal 2. I'm checking the departures board for my flight information. Oh, right there. Yep, Seattle. I already checked in online last night, but I do have a bag to check, so I'm going to drop it off at the counter. I have my passport Ready to go. Thankfully, my luggage wasn't overweight. Now it's time to go through security. I just made it through security. I've never gotten to the airport this early before a flight. It's kind of nice not having to rush. I've got lots of time to kill, so I'm gonna grab a bite to eat. Hungry. Baby maguksu, mool maguksu. I want baby mool maguksu. Cold noodles are my favorite. This is the perfect last meal in Korea for me. Mmm, this hits the spot. It also came with jeon on the side. So yummy. Let's shop till we drop. I knew I brought the cameraman along for a reason. We stopped at the pharmacy to buy some souvenirs for my friend. We got PDRN. I guess it's really popular these days and I don't think they have it in the US. I'm at my gate and I've got my boarding pass ready. I'm putting on my compression socks. Doesn't it help? It does! You need the blood to circulate, you know? I'm putting my backpack in the overhead compartment. They have a pretty good selection of movies. I'm watching Wicked 2. I'll take a ginger ale, please. Thank you.
You like the pork or pasta?
Pork, please. Thank you. We're waiting for our bags at baggage claim. We're at carousel number 22. Excuse me, we have another flight. Okay, you got your luggage, right?
Yes.
Okay, clear immigration, customs as soon as possible and go straight and drop off the bag, take your flight. Okay, he lost his second ticket.
We will give you boarding pass to customer service.
Okay, thank you. Give me one minute, I need to finish my page and then I'm gonna donate it to the little library. Take a book, share a book. I hope someone enjoys this. A Skittles vending machine. Hi. Can I please get a three-piece tenders?
For the deep pizzas, what would you like?
One signature and one ranch, and thin mint frosty. Oh, we don't have like the thin mint right now. Maybe just an original frosty then. And then the burger, everything on it, right? Yep. Anything else to do? Nope, that's it. Can I get the name for the order? Callie. It's gonna be twenty eight dollars and seventy four cents. Sorry, can I get a handful of ketchups too? Thank you.
Thank you. You're welcome.
I'm at Seattle Airport for a 4-hour layover, so I got some Wendy's. It's my first meal back in the US. Mmm, I've missed the taste of Frosties.
So good.
Chicken tenders in ranch. It's so basic, but it just reminds me of home.
I love it.
Hello. Hi.
I think I lost my ticket in the yes.
You're okay? I'm okay.
Yeah, she has a ticket.
I lost it.
Thank you.
Boarding starting soon? Should be soon. The crew just went down. They just finished deplaning.
Okay, thank you. Thank you. You go there. How long has it been?
I don't know with the time differences. I'm running on like four hours of sleep because I. We packed so late last night. How long have we been traveling?
12 hours?
Almost 24 hours. Wow.
3 more hours to go.
I can't. On the long flight, I had an aisle seat, and on this flight, I have a window seat. It's my lucky day. And actually, I have an empty seat next to me, so even better. So exhausted. Happy we made it safely though. The temperature difference here, I already love Palm Springs. It's so warm and there's a nice breeze. Let's go to the rideshare area and call an Uber. I'm walking to the pickup area. Hello, how's it going? Thank you.
How long have y'all been together?
Y'all married? Yeah, we're married. Married for 3 years, together for 12. I started losing count.
That's not nice. You got to keep track.
I know.
Yo, that's beautiful, y'all.
Congratulations. Thank you. Thank you so much. Hey, it was wonderful meeting you. Nice meeting you. If there was 6 stars, You'd have them. See you. Hello. Checking in? Yes. Last name? Hong. Staying one night? Yes. We'll be authorizing that card $50 for incidentals that you get back at checkout just to ensure no smoking, no pets. Okay.
Can we charge with other card or it has to be under my name?
We can authorize a different card. I just authorized it though. She just did it.
What is it?
It's $50. And then we get it back tomorrow if there's no problem. You guys have a booked and busy weekend with the festival going on. Yeah, it's our first time ever. We're excited. Go down this swing halfway down.
Take a left.
Okay.
Enjoy your stay. Okay.
Thank you so much. Okay.
Wow!
This is huge. Perfect. Oh, it's comfortable. Anything would feel comfortable at this point. point in the day. There's 2 beds too. I can have this one all to myself, get a peaceful night of sleep. I'm tipping the Uber driver and giving him 5 stars. I know a lot of people debate whether you should tip your Uber driver or not, but I feel like you should. With the US tipping culture, you should tip them. It took us 15 minutes to get from the airport to our hotel and it cost $24. I miss Korean taxi prices. We'll be walking to that festival. That's the end of my 27-hour travel day. It's time for bed. Good night! I'm starting my day off at Arcicolt Bakery, which is known as One of the best bakeries in the U.S. People say their croissants are life-changing. I'm excited to try them and see if they're worth the hype. Hi! Can we get one almond croissant, one ham and cheese croissant, and one quang aman? Quang aman. Quang aman. I knew I butchered that pronunciation. Maybe one small coffee as well. Thank you. Have a nice day. You too. I got my pastries to go so I can have a breakfast picnic at the park. I'm calling an Uber now. Hi. How are you today, you guys? Good. How are you doing? Good.
So far so good. Good.
It's a beautiful day today, that's for sure. Bye.
Bye-bye.
I just got to the Painted Ladies, which is a famous viewpoint. Here in San Francisco. You can see a little bit of the skyline and these old Victorian houses which were featured in a very popular American sitcom Full House. A lot of Americans grew up watching that sitcom so they recognize these houses. I'm going to eat my croissants and enjoy the view. Let's start with the almond croissant, which is their most famous menu item. This looks super buttery and flaky. Wow, wow, the people weren't lying. I'm not even a big pastry girl, but this is one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life. I'm not being dramatic. I like that it's really moist on the inside, and the almond one is perfectly sweet. I should have bought like 10 of these. One's not enough. Let's switch things up and try the savory ham and cheese croissant now. I can't believe the size of these croissants. They're just so Light and flaky. The texture is just incredible, but I definitely prefer the almond croissant. The last thing I got is a queen among. Look how shiny it is! I like how this one is glazed on the outside, but the almond croissant is still my top pick. I definitely recommend it if you're in San Francisco. You must order the almond croissant. I'm heading to my next destination, the Palace of Fine Arts. I'm taking a driverless taxi there. I see them all over the streets here, but it's my first time riding in one, so I'm kind of nervous. Wish me luck! Oh my gosh! Good morning. Oh my God! Ready? Start ride. Let's pray for no accidents. If I die, just know that I love you. It's fast, man. I know. This is a crazy experience. Okay. So far so good. Every muscle in my body is tense right now. Because I'm so scared. Finding a spot to pull over. Oh, here we are. Thank you, Waymo. You're here. Please make sure it's clear before exiting. Bye-bye, Waymo. That was crazy. It's actually very smart and it's comfortable. DJ Wemo was rocking it with the music too. It was actually a good experience and we arrived at our destination safely. Thank God. Palace of Fine Arts. Look at these huge columns. This is beautiful. The architecture here is incredible. I feel like I'm in Ancient Rome or something. So far I love all the outdoor spaces in San Francisco. There are lots of beautiful parks and they're just such peaceful places to take a walk and enjoy yourself. My next stop is within walking distance so I'm going on foot.
Wow!
Gorgeous! Behind me is the Golden Gate Bridge. When I think of San Francisco, this is the first thing that comes to mind, so being here in person feels unreal. I'm at the Buena Vista Cafe. It says here that America's first Irish coffee was made here in 1950. So that's what I'll be trying today. Ah, too. What can I get for you? Um, an Irish coffee, please. This one? Yes. Oh, thank you. Still warm. Woo! It's strong. It's good though. The top is nice and creamy. I like it. He was pretty heavy-handed with the liquor. How many of these do you make a day? Oh, two thousand. Where are you guys from?
Chicago.
Chicago. Okay. Oh, you do? I've been here for like ten years and I had never been here. Okay. Last year we were here with our friends too.
I was like, what do you want to do when you come back?
Get Irish coffee. Um, I'm originally from Michigan, but we've been living in Korea for the last like twelve years. Wow. And you just.
Visiting now.
Yep, yep. What brought you to Korea?
This guy.
Love. Cameraman's getting lit. You're a lightweight. He can't handle his liquor.
I'm a wimp.
I can drink him under the table. Thank you very much. Thank you. Thanks for hanging out.
Yep.
Uh, fine. Thank you. Enjoy the rest of your trip too. See you.
The right place.
Yeah, we have a few models.
I see you like that, so I can offer you something like this.
Okay, slim.
So let's see if it's compatible or not. Okay, fully charged. We charge them. Oh, the phone is dead, huh? Yeah.
Oh my goodness, emergency!
Yes, fast charge, you see?
Yeah, very quick.
Oh, nice picture.
Thank you. How much is This one, $1,000 for you. $1,000. Oh, what a deal! $49.99. Do you have anything a little bit cheaper, or?
We have cheaper one.
Okay.
This one for $29.99.
And that just hooks on the bottom here. Okay. Is it fully charged?
We charge only this one and this one.
This one. Okay. Sold. Take care. Thank you. It's expensive, but it's fully charged. It's fully charged. Today is our. Splurge day. We've been trying to save money eating at home. We're staying at my friend's house, but today I guess we're going all out. He was so nice though. I'm a sucker. He got me. This is a very touristy area. Lots of souvenir shops, chain restaurants. I like it. It's fun, and I'm a tourist, so makes sense. We came to Budin to try the famous sourdough. Hi, one water and then one clam chowder in the bread bowl. Yes, please. Thank you.
Thank you.
Yep, thank you. The bowl is edible. It's sourdough bread. Let's try the soup first. Wow, it's piping hot. Very thick, creamy, very comforting, and there are huge chunks of clam in this. You can tear off a piece of bread and dunk it in the soup. Mmm, San Francisco sourdough, nothing better. Cameraman's taking a nap. I'm at Pier 39. I came here to see the sea lions. It's one of the most popular things to do in San Francisco. Here you can get a good view of Alcatraz. It's that island right over there. It used to be one of the most secure prisons in the US, but now it's just a tourist attraction. I try to avoid seagulls at all Look at all the sea lions. There are so many of them just lounging in the sun. They're such funny animals. I love their whiskers and watching them waddle. So cute. Hello, 2 single ride tickets please. Thanks so much. Let's ride the cable car. I'm so excited to ride the cable car. Thank you. Hold on tight. Here we go. The ride was short, but I felt so I felt so free with the wind blowing in my hair. It was giving main character energy. Lombard Street is famous for its zigzag road. It has very sharp curves so it's kind of crazy watching cars drive down this hill. I'm in Chinatown now and I'm heading to the Fortune Cookie Factory. Mmm, they're making them fresh here. I can smell them. Thank you. They gave us a free sample. I kind of like it as just a wafer too. It's easier to eat. Hi, can we get one carne asada super burrito please? Yes, everything. Do you have Coke Zero? Uh, Diet Coke. One Diet Coke and a bottle of water as well, please. Yes, for here.
That's it.
Yep. I walked a lot and worked up an appetite, so it's time to eat again. I came to El Farolito and got their carne asada super burrito because I heard it's the best burrito in San Francisco. This thing is huge. It's wrapped in tin foil. They serve it with nacho chips and salsas on the side. Oh yeah, yeah, I teach English on YouTube. Yeah, yeah, I live in Korea and I teach English.
Are you teaching them vocab around a burrito right now?
Like, yeah, like eating, traveling in San Francisco, and stuff like that. Do you guys live here?
Here, we all kind of went to school together.
Where? Sorry. We went to UNC. Okay. In North Carolina. Yeah.
So I moved out here like eight months ago.
Oh, okay. So they're here for the weekend, so I'm trying to show them around. Nice. Taking them to my favorite burrito spot. Nice. I heard this is the place to go. Yeah. I'm from Michigan. What part? Um, do you know we do the mitten thing?
Okay.
Yeah, yeah. I'm from up here. Very small town. That's me. Yeah. Thank you so much. Thanks for saying hi. It was so nice to chat with you guys. Let's go for it. I got mostly tortilla on the first bite, but I can already taste the smokiness of the steak. Mmm, that's a good burrito. The inside is packed with beans, rice, steak, cheese. It's delicious. Let's put some sauce on top. I just noticed you guys got a nice camera too. Are you also vlogging?
Oh, you are!
Oh my god, what do you guys do?
I do like dance, lifestyle, and food videos.
Oh my god! I'm sorry I didn't ask before. My god, I didn't even notice the camera. You wrote this? That is so cool. We recorded that at my house. Damn, that's awesome. So nice meeting you. Enjoy the rest of your trip. I had so much fun exploring San Francisco today and I hope you did too. I'll see you next time. Bye! Today I'll be working as an intern at an AI company called Viscom. Let's head in.
Hi! How was your day going?
Pretty good. Still waking up.
Oh, did you get the?
Yes, here.
I'll let Kaylin open it.
Yeah.
We got him a for his birthday like this like Pop Mart. Oh, there he is, Kaylin. Oh, Kaylin, this is Kelly. He's actually from Michigan as well. He's also from Michigan.
You're from Michigan too?
Yes. What? We're both from the same place, Rochester. Really? Yeah, yeah. Love to meet a fellow Michigander. Yeah. 여러분 안녕하세요. 네 저는 조든테일어입니다. So we're at Viscom now. So this is our headquarters. San Francisco. We build a lot of software for designers. The computer that you're watching this through started out as a drawing somewhere, and we help people turn those drawings into things that they can actually hold. So yeah, I studied industrial design and essentially spent most of my time at NVIDIA. I used to be a car designer as well at Honda, and then yeah, started Viscom about like 4 years ago after that. So up till today, we've raised around $51 million. We recently just closed our Series B, which is super exciting. It's a huge milestone for the company.
Congratulations, that's incredible.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
How did you learn Korean?
I used to live in Korea, studying industrial design. As time just went on, making friends and like cult talk and watching shows, I just started to learn Korean.
That's awesome. He's super fluent, guys.
He's really good.
I checked out your website. I played around on it. Even drew my own thing.
Really?
Yeah, I did. It was really impressive.
Yeah.
So I'm excited to explore it today.
Yeah, totally, totally. Cool. So we are. Currently upstairs, this is where the sales team sits. Some people from marketing. We actually don't have like assigned seating just yet. We're still kind of figuring that out. And then we have kind of this like kitchen area. Today's Wednesday, so like team lunch Wednesdays. And then yeah, we'll kind of like eat up here.
Wow, this is awesome!
It's just funny to see the agents, agents, all the billboards. You know, in Michigan it's like, oh, lawyers, are you in a crash? Like, or the ads are just so different. This is kind of where a lot of the engineering and design team works. So that's Jared.
Hi, Jared!
See, he has this— the cactus thing.
What is it?
A community member from the BlizzCon designed this cactus, and we're making it real by prototyping it downstairs.
That is so cool!
So yeah, this is the makerspace, and this is where we do a lot of 3D printing. These are some other 3D printers. parts of what Jared's working on upstairs. So this is kind of actually going to be a coat rack that you put these pieces on like this.
That is cool.
This is where we kind of like film random videos sometimes. Let's see this section.
Oh, hey! Wow, these settings.
Sophia, who you'll meet later, she did all this. She used to work at Webflow doing like production stuff. And content creation. She just like assembled this.
Oh my gosh, we need a Sophia.
I was like, I was like, they're like, we need a Soph.
I'm Callie. Lovely to meet you. Nice to meet you too. My whole background is in film production before tech, and then I worked at a company called Webflow before that. We had a bunch of satellite studios that I helped to build.
You mean Webflow as the, uh, the web builder thing?
Yeah.
Oh, I used to use that.
Yeah, if you go on Webflow, you know, I'm in a bunch of their videos. Oh, all right, I'm in.
Okay, cool. Our job here now is to really understand how to convert this media content into like a LinkedIn kind of format.
So I think what I would do is maybe do the frame it as a question. I know we've done that post, that type of post before where it's more thought leadership-y. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So that is what I would probably do. Yes, with this example.
Okay, that's a really good idea. How do we now From a content formatting perspective, you think like what to include in terms of imagery? Yeah. Do you think we should turn some of these like videos into GIFs potentially?
We could. Yeah, awesome.
So we'll just post this right now.
Here you go.
Okay, okay, okay. Oh no, the GIF's too long. All right, we'll try this again. All right, so yeah, we'll let that go through.
Awesome.
All right, who's usually watching like the LinkedIn post? How— what's your target audience?
With Instagram, that's really where our like designer like collective, I would say, is. LinkedIn is more so, I think, targeting folks who may not know what Vizcom is. So I think like it's more so like prospect customers on LinkedIn, so students who are looking to build their design portfolios who are studying industrial design. They come to Viscom to see like examples. We have a webinar tomorrow and there's a lot of students signed up for it. Is it mostly in the US, like American viewers?
As far as the students go, we've definitely seen like a global reach. And I even— I was in Korea like 3 weeks ago in Namyang, all the way where Hyundai is, and like because their design studio there uses Viscom.
So we're getting there. Yeah, that's great, that's great.
It's beautiful. I will give you your assignment now. So, so there'll be multiple tasks. The first task here is to help us grab some coffee. As the intern in Viscom, we need our coffee for energy. And then when you get back, we're gonna need you to design a flyer of sorts for this design challenge we have coming up where it involves people that are gonna use cork materials to design different objects. And we'd love to get your take on that and have some of the other team members check out what you make as well. So yeah, no pressure.
Yeah.
No pressure. This is gonna go into production. We'll put, oh, Kelly Sam design.
Oh no! Okay, I can do it, I can do it, I got this. Let me get some orders.
The banana cappuccino. Banana cappuccino?
That sounds great. Do you have a preference on the milk? Do you like the goat's milk?
Just regular milk's totally fine. Okay. So Kelly, our intern today, she's gonna grab us coffee from Go Go Go. I would love an iced latte. Iced latte?
Any milk preference?
Whole milk. Iced latte? Take a strawberry matcha latte. Ooh, fancy! Okay, awesome. Number 1 intern 2026.
Okay, I'm already sweating. I can't mess this up. Golden Goat is like super known for like having really cool specialty coffees. Jordan really likes the banana bread cappuccino. That's what he did. He did the banana cappuccino. So you guys live in Korea? We do, yeah. That's so cool. Yeah, we came for Coachella and then Spent like a little less than two weeks here in SF. Did you see Justin Bieber?
Yes.
Oh my god, I'm so jealous. Okay, it's right here actually. Oh, okay.
Hi.
Hi. I have a really big order. Is that okay? It's all to go. Sure. I'll just put all these under the same name. Yes, please. What is that name? Callie. An iced latte with whole milk, iced latte with oat milk, two iced strawberry matchas. We actually don't have those. Oh, you don't? Ah, just regular matcha then. Okay, light sweet should be good. Yeah, also we're gonna be carrying these. Do you have any like— we have like cups of 4 for the drink carriers. Okay, okay, thank you so much. Bye! Success! It's cool. Oh, our lunch is here. Lunchtime! Orange cappuccino?
No, I think the orange cappuccino is Kyle's.
Did we get a regular cappuccino?
No worries.
I'm panicking. Did I fail my mission? Cappuccino! Sweet.
Did you guys live in Korea or do you guys live here now? Korea. I went to Busan. It was like a little more chill.
It is, it is. Especially we lived like right in Gangnam before moving to Busan, and it's just like the vibes are so different because it's all offices and it's just like the hustle bustle. But then Busan, we live on the beach and it's a lot of like tourists and travelers.
How many do you guys feel the ten days living costs is like insane?
Yes.
Wow. It's actually like close to. Four or five times, I think. And his hips is like out of hips.
Even like you know I'm born and raised American. Every time I come back, I'm like hips. And then I get confused too because I'm like at like a kiosk or something. It always pops up. You know, like here comes a man.
I'm going to answer.
I'm picking it up. Yeah. We've taken it like twice since we've been here.
Like it?
I like it. It's really smart, but I just get like. Nervous, anxious a little bit still. Like I still gotta get used to it. What do you do like when you need to like go to the bathroom or something? Needs a pause button or something. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Cake.
Thank you. Mm. Pork.
Yummy. They've got some fresh fruits in there. So good. So can you just introduce yourself and talk about what you do at Viscom? Yeah, so my name is Amy. I'm a product design engineer here at Viscom. I will like think of new features, design them, like write code to implement them into the Viscom tool, and then get some feedback from our customers to iterate on that and make sure it's something that they'll use at their design jobs.
Awesome.
Thank you so much.
Hi, I'm Anag Kurapati. I'm a product manager here at Viscom. I've been working here for about a year and a half. My background is as an industrial designer, automotive designer, so it's a natural fit working at Viscom.
What's kind of like a regular day at Viscom look like for you?
Usually throughout the day I'm testing new models, maybe spinning up some POCs. Sometimes we'll have calls with users to be able to beta test new features, understand what their pain points are.
Thank you so much, I appreciate it.
So my name is Brandon. I'm a product engineer here at Viscom. I'm mainly working on like the dashboard and helping out admins, but the latest thing that I've been working on is, um, a third-party integration with Fusion. It's like a 3D modeling tool. A lot of our customers like working in like external applications, whether it's like 3D modeling or like Photoshop. We can hook into these other tools that they like using and making like the workflow a lot more seamless. So I'm Al Handhauser. I'm the head of sales at Viscom. Usually we're going on-site spending a day or two with their leadership team and their designers to train them on how to use the product. Like, we've been to Korea several times to go see like Hyundai Kia and some of our customers there.
What do you think of Korea?
I love it. I love it.
Yeah. Did you get the experience in Korea of going out having drinks? Oh yeah.
Yeah, the team at Hyundai took us out for soju and Korean barbecue and Like, they put the soju on top of the cask, you know? Yeah, yeah, dude, we did the whole thing, which was a lot of fun. Great question. So yeah, I think a lot of it has been actually inbound interest because the, the product is our secret weapon. The product is just so good that people are really drawn to it. Like, every morning we wake up with a few new ones. Awesome.
Thank you so much.
Really appreciate it.
So I am Audrey. I am the executive assistant to both co-founders here at Biz I do, you know, like calendar management, inbox management, just kind of like managing their schedules and like coordinating where they need to be at what time. And I'm just kind of helping everyone on the team make sure we're all moving efficiently. I always joke with Jordan, I wish I could like clone you or like put a microchip in your brain so I knew what you were thinking at all times. Can you maybe give a tip for time management, organization, communication, anything that like you Yeah, I really like the Eisenhower Matrix. I'm not sure if you've heard of it, but it's kind of like a diagram or chart where you can like prioritize different things, especially working with 2 different founders. One's like the technical, the CTO, one's the CEO. Juggling priorities and like what to actually get to first is sometimes challenging, so that's been really helpful for me. Yeah. Thank you so much. Yeah, no problem.
Hi.
Hello, my name is Kim. I'm a growth marketer at Vizgo. So some of the work I do here is host things like challenges, on-site events, activations at Design Week, as well as looking at how we can grow our broader self-serve user base. So those that are signing up through our website. Hi, I'm Mara. I'm the senior branding web designer here at Vizcom. I work pretty closely with Kim to help create some of the promotional assets, update the website, and really drive buzz for the challenge. All right, so what are we doing today exactly? It kind of comes up with the timeline and who we're working with. What we'll start with is by creating some assets that we can use for launch, so just some sample objects of what the challenge is. Okay, draw a line like that, right? Oops, no. Uh, you draw the line and then you connect when you let go. Okay, put the plants into the planter. Yeah, it helps if you target the object. So it's like— perfect.
It's like onboarding interns.
Yes. Thank you so much. Okay, so I will show you.
Okay, moment of truth here.
So this is what the team and I worked on. Oh yeah, we actually did this on Viscom. Oh cool, so you got in there.
Oh, can I see this real quick? Oh wow, that is awesome. So this is all cork down here?
Yep.
Very cool. I wish there was like more showcase of the cork itself. It's hard to tell maybe from this image that cork is the special thing about this, or also understanding like why cork. But all in all, I mean, like the actual execution is super cool. It's your, your first intern project of sorts, so great job. Awesome stuff.
Thank you.
A+. Yes.
I had a great time like Talking to everyone here and getting to spend the day here. So really, thank you so much. Yeah. Is there anything you want to say lastly? Maybe about Viscom or to the viewers or?
Thanks for watching, guys. Yeah, don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe. Uh, naging aboy.
Bye. Thank you. Bye.
Nice meeting you.
Thank you for coming.
Yeah, thank you. Nice meeting you.
Tonight, I'm watching the San Francisco Giants. Play the LA Dodgers. They're rivals, so I think it's gonna be a pretty intense game. It might get kind of heated. I'm really excited to see some big players tonight: Lee Jung-hoo, Kim Hyesung, and Ohtani. Oracle Park in San Francisco is known as being one of the most beautiful stadiums in the US. You can literally hit a home run. Into the ocean. I heard that some fans actually sit in kayaks waiting for home run balls to be hit to them. The game just started, so let's watch and have fun tonight. I'm rooting for the Giants because they're the home team and Busan has the same mascot, Lotte Giants. Jung-hoo Lee, runners at first and third, one out.
He raps one and it's gonna be—
It's the top of the second inning and we're up by 3. The Dodgers are at bat, so I'm gonna go grab a bite to eat quick. 2 iconic spots in the stadium Are this giant baseball glove and this Coca-Cola bottle, which is actually a slide. I want to go down it, but they have it closed off right now. Bummer. I'm at the merch table. I want to buy an Lee Jung-hoo uniform. Excuse me, do you have any other Lee Jung-hoo merch besides the jersey? Like a hat or anything like that? Got a t-shirt. T-shirt? Just like a giant shirt with his name on the back?
It's Ohtani versus Anthony.
Ah, oh, that's pretty good though too. How much is a jersey like that? Jerseys, uh, $165. $165? What do you think? Yeah, today's shirt is $40. $40? Okay, all right, I'm gonna do one of the black t-shirts please. What size is hanging up there? Uh, should be a small or medium. That should be all right. Medium, probably. Is it like 100% cotton? It might shrink.
Good question.
Yeah, it is 100% cotton, so it's gonna shrink probably, right? I'll go for a medium.
Have a wonderful day.
Thank you so much. I wanted a jersey, but it was a little too expensive, so I settled for a t-shirt. Isn't it obvious? Jung Hoon Lee. Duh. This is the perfect way to Remember tonight. Hello, one crab sandwich please. Thank you so much. This crab sandwich was thirty dollars. It better be good or I'm gonna be mad. I usually go for a classic hot dog at ball games, but I heard this crab sandwich is not to be. missed at Oracle Park. So let's try it. Mmm. I'm not a huge seafood fan, but this is really good. This does not taste like stadium food. It tastes pretty gourmet, actually.
Worth $30?
I'm gonna say it's worth $30 for stadium food. Hello, can I please get one order of the chicken Chicken tenders with garlic fries, one Coke Zero as well, please. Okay, what size would you like? We have the medium and we also have a large. Medium should be fine. Yep.
Woo!
Well, fresh, hey? Thank you. And you do have your napkins and everything in the back. Okay. Do you have a lid for this by chance?
No lids.
Okay, okay.
Sorry.
It's all right. Taste test. These fries The shrimp are fresh, crunchy, and super garlicky. Worth the wait.
How much?
30-something. It's a much bigger portion than the crab sandwich though. Thank you. This is our luck. We bring the rain every time without fail. It's pouring. D.L.
Lee!
D.L.
Lee! D.L.
Lee hit a single, so he's on first base. I see so many people here wearing his jersey. Lots of fans of him at this stadium. We almost got another run, but the ump called him out. Bummer. Fun fact, I used to be an ump as a part-time job. It was fun, but also lots of pressure. Not an easy job. All the fans are talking trash over there. They're getting in a fight. I don't care if I never get back, 'cause it's root, root for the Yards.
Do you know that song?
No? It's a classic baseball song. Every American knows it. I love the fancam. It's so fun watching people dancing and just having a good time. It's Norebang at the stadium tonight. I was like, baby, baby, baby, oh, baby, baby, baby, oh. The pitcher's throwing strikes. B-L-A, B-L-A. 2 down, the pitch, swing and a miss, he struck him out!
He blew a fast—
The Giants just won 3 to 1. Let's try to hurry up and beat the crowd. We gotta grab an Uber. Everyone's running for the exit. Everybody calm down. Take a deep breath. It took too long to get an Uber, so I got a Waymo instead. Which is a driverless taxi. It's kind of freaky, but pretty cool. They're all over the streets of San Francisco. I just got home and had to try on my new shirt right away. How's it look guys? Baseball is my favorite sport so that was lots of fun. Actually, I played softball for a large part of my life and I was a first baseman. I don't want to brag, but my nickname used to be the Magnet. I hope you had fun watching the game with me and I'll see you next time. Bye! I'm on my way to Seoul to throw my friend a surprise bachelorette party. I didn't buy my train ticket far enough in advance so I have to stay Lesson learned. Next time I'll be more on top of things. I made it to Seoul and the first thing on my agenda is to pick up a cake that I ordered for Illy, the bride-to-be. My friend Lorena, who's in on the surprise, is gonna meet me at the bakery. She's gonna give me a hand because I've still got my suitcase with me. 안녕하세요. Cake 예약이 있어요. 와~ 너무 기워예요. 감사합니다. Cake secured. Lorena to the rescue. Okay. Do you want me to carry this? Thanks. It got a little bit like cold yesterday. Cake reveal instead of life of the party. It says wife of the party since she's getting married. So cute! We're on our way to a grocery store to buy some snacks and then we're heading to a liquor store to get some champagne. We're gonna pop some bottles tonight.
Woo-hoo!
We bought some decorations for the house So I'm blowing up some balloons. Is Mango going to pop them?
No, no, no.
She'll pop one and then be scared of them. Lo is hanging the balloons in streamers. Teamwork. Illy is on her way and we are still trying to clean up the house and get everything ready. So I'm trying to buy us time. I asked her to go to the convenience store to buy me some snacks because I'm hungry. She even video chatted me to show me which snacks are available. I'm trying to be picky just to take up some more time. Sorry, Illy. A few moments later. My heart is racing. I'm nervous. I come with the snacks and everything. Hi, girl! No way! Get out of here! I, I, I thought I actually didn't see it. It's your mini bachelorette party. This is heavy tears. Oh good, that's why I was being so annoying. I was buying time. Did you expect anything? I thought maybe you'll buy a cake, but I was like, I hope they don't because my birthday has been like a month ago. But did you think we were gonna do like a bride thing? No, no, no, no, no. Nice. Dear Ely, in the name of love, we crown you bride-to-be. I want to say thank you, my people. I'm putting on her sash. Okay, queen. Let's go party! We have to put the veil too. Oh yeah, so pretty! Oh, she's a bride! The bride's out in the wild. Get us some free drinks, girl, or some free sushi.
I'm on it!
Don't be shy, work Work it, girl! Work it! I love it. Oh, who is that? This mystery woman behind the veil. Ta-da! Cut the camera, this place did not disappoint. Free drinks, specialty. It's because of the sash and the crown. Thanks, silly. Oh, it's very nice. It's very nice. A free drink is very nice. We just had sushi for dinner, and now we're gonna take photos in a photo booth. This is like a passport photo.
Yeah.
Callie, you kind of blinked.
I know.
Let's just do this for fun. Okay. What time is it? Karaoke time!
Woo!
I gotta have you. We're dancing. It's the remix to Ignition. Chiso, chiso. I stand proud, defying gravity. Mango, what did you do? That's so funny. We put on our PJs, popped some popcorn, and we're about to watch a chick flick. What are we watching? The Family Stone. The Family Stone. It's a tearjerker, but it's so good. You guys are gonna love it. Am I ready to cry? Yeah, we're ready. Get your tissues ready. Mask bag time! Good morning! We stayed up until 2 in the morning yesterday. I'm not a night owl at all, so I'm a little bit sleepy. But Mango was my sleeping buddy. We cuddled all night and it was so cute. Now we're about to head to brunch and get some food in our tummies. So, Illy, how was the bachelorette party? The bachelorette party was awful. The worst day of my life.
Savage.
It's gonna be our hook. Can you tell me a little bit about your wedding coming up? Yes, uh, I am so excited about our wedding. It's been in the making for a lot of years now because we were planning to get married back in 2020. However, COVID hit, we had to cancel our wedding plans. So now finally the timing is right again and we are going to do it in Bulgaria. We are planning to do an outdoor wedding, so I'm excited about that. I really hope it's It's gonna be great sunny weather. This is the only thing I'm very worried about. Knock on wood. Do you have any honeymoon plans? Yes, we do. We are planning to go on a kind of a long trip. Our first destination is going to be Egypt, and we are actually going there with my parents because I wanted to make them a small gift as well. They're crashing your honeymoon? Yes, but I love my parents, so it's gonna be great. And then the rest of the honeymoon trip is going to be a surprise. Because we're planning to vlog it as well. I'll link her channel so you can check her out. Yay! Bye!
Love you!
Love you too! I made it back to Busan and I already miss my friends. We all live in different cities so it's pretty rare for all 3 of us to get together. Usually at bachelorette parties you drink a lot, and party hard, but we stayed sober, kept it pretty low-key, and still had a blast. For my bachelorette party, I went bar hopping in Itaewon with a group of friends and it got pretty wild. Planning a wedding is usually really stressful, so I think a bachelorette party is a great way to just let loose and forget about that stress Anyways, it's time to catch up on sleep. Good night! It's 6 AM on a Monday. I just woke up. I wanted to sleep in, but I have a lot I want to accomplish today. Let's be productive. Next I'm gonna brush my teeth. These days I go to the gym first thing in the morning, so I'm gonna change into my workout clothes. I need some energy for the gym, so I'm gonna make a pre-workout snack. I almost always have coffee and a banana, but I'm out of bananas right now, So I think I'm gonna make a rice cake. And there we go, some carbs for energy before the gym. I have leftover coffee from yesterday. Let's see how it tastes.
Mmm.
It's a little watered down, but it'll do the trick. I always keep a stack of Sudoku puzzles at my table. I love doing them while I eat. It helps me relax and keeps me from going on my phone. I'm filling up my water bottle and then I'm heading out.
Let's go!
I love my walk to the gym. There's There's hardly ever any people out at this time, so it's very peaceful. The weather today is beautiful. It's gonna be a gorgeous day. Today I'm focusing on my upper body, especially my back. I'm trying to grow my lats because my New Year's resolution was to get a pull-up this year. I'm gonna start with some dynamic stretches. Let's just try a pull-up and see if I've made any progress. Don't judge me. That was humbling. Zero progress. I'm gonna do lat pulldowns now. I'm gonna do 3 sets of 10 reps. Could you see my back gains when I did those? Look how red my My cheeks are. I'm dripping sweat, gotta stay hydrated. Let's work on my 6-pack and finish up with abs. I don't know if my form on those is any good, but I heard they get you shredded, so I'm gonna keep trying them. I'm skipping cardio. I walk a lot throughout the day, so That counts. My groceries got delivered. I'm gonna put my groceries away. It feels good having a fully stocked fridge. No coupon eats this week. I've got a few meetings this morning, so I'm gonna take a shower and get ready for the day. I just got out of the shower and I'm starting with Skincare of course. My makeup is done. I'm gonna throw on some clothes and make a quick breakfast. Here is today's final look. I kept it simple with a claw clip today because I couldn't be bothered to style my hair. I have about 30 minutes before my first meeting starts, So I'm gonna make one of my favorite breakfasts. Spray the pan. Throw in some garlic. I use a measuring cup and do a half cup of frozen spinach. I'm adding a cup of liquid egg whites. Don't mix it. Just let it sit, and I'm gonna add some salt and pepper. When the top is still wet, Put one tortilla right on top. While that's cooking, I'm gonna slice up some avocado.
It's beautiful.
I'm gonna use the side without the pit. It's time to flip this. Let's see if I can do it without making a mess. Whew, that was good. I love this wrap so much. It gets nice and crispy on the outside. Mmm, it's so quick and easy and super healthy. I'm about to start my first meeting of the day. It's a one-on-one meeting with Virginia. She helps me out a lot with content.
Hi!
Hi, good morning! So sorry I'm a little late. Oh, it's fine. Before we start, just FYI, I'm recording right now. Oh, okay, okay. Yeah, just a heads up. So let's get into it. First of all, the worksheet, baseball was posted last night, so the files and everything you need for that are already up. So that's good to go. And then shorts. This is like our first week doing the double posting. Let's see how that goes. Do you need anything from me still for that? I think you said you were working on like one more over the weekend or something. I will keep you updated on those and let you know. Yeah, let's wrap it up, I guess then, and I'll see you at 11. Bye-bye. It's about time for meeting number two. This one is our weekly team meeting. The cameraman is leading it. Me? Are you ready?
I'm in a rush.
안녕하세요. Okay, first of all, I guess let's talk about the long form that we uploaded. Okay, thank you guys. Bye-bye. Wow, I'm exhausted. That meeting took forever. The boss wouldn't stop yapping.
Hey!
The goal is to film 4 videos today. That's a big goal. My first video will be a lecture. It's for my VOD series. So check it out. Welcome back. Today you'll— today you'll learn common expressions used by native speakers all the time. I am starving so I'm making tuna rice bowls for the cameraman and I. I use microwave rice, but this one is kind of special because it has lentils in it. I use about half of one pack, and I put in some edamame as well. There, half in there. That's a lot of fiber. Gotta have the kimch. That's kimchi for short. Kimch. I just made that up. Okay, lunch is served. These days I'm watching Heart Signal, but there's only one episode weekly, so I'm gonna try watching Nanun Solo for the first time ever. I'm hoping it helps me with my Korean. Video two of four today. I'm filming a vlog for my VOD series, but it's basically a voiceover. So hopefully it's pretty quick and easy. Last year, I set one of my friends up on a blind date with my coworker. And cut!
Yangho gungbu, 매번 작심 사미를 하시나요?
Is it okay that I'm just like smiling? It's okay. I'm gonna be honest. I'm losing steam. I've been laying in bed and scrolling on my phone for the past 20 minutes, but this is a productivity vlog, so I need to get moving. Leave me alone. We're supposed to be having a productive Monday. I worked too hard.
Wow.
I came out for a walk. I gotta get my steps in and Hopefully this gives me some energy. The last thing we're filming today is a short-form video. It's a TikTok trend these days. You say one phrase in 4 different tones. We're gonna say good for you using 4 different tones. It should be fun. Okay, good for you. Good for you. That was good, yeah. I'm about to hop on a call for my final meeting of the day. It's with an English company in Japan about a potential collab. Hello. I know this morning I said no more coupon eats, but hear me out. I was just too busy today and didn't have time to prep dinner, so I caved. This place is pretty healthy though. It's kind of like my go-to delivery spot. It's like a chicken dosirak. So it comes with roast chicken, rice, some kimchi, a bunch of vegetables. They even give you this really delicious egg drop soup that I'm obsessed with. So yes, I did get delivery food, but I'm not gonna feel too guilty about it. I'm just going to enjoy it. What's crazy to me is that All of this food was less than 9,000 Korean won. That's a lot of food. I have a guest joining me for dinner tonight.
Hello, Keesumida.
How was your day today?
Me? Busy Monday tired.
What was your high and low today? I know your high was spending time with me. No comments.
Can we eat?
Wow, wow! Taking a walk with you. Good answer, good answer.
Low? Low?
Mm-hmm. There's no such a low.
What? Living with you.
Oh my, I feel sick now. What was my high? I felt like we had a lot of productive meetings today, so that was a high. My low? was being humbled by my pull-up at the gym. I might delete that footage. That was pretty bad.
I'm not deleting that, so don't worry.
I gotta eat more protein to get stronger. Cheers.
Cheers.
It's 8:40 and there's still a few things that I want to accomplish tonight. First, I want to reach 10,000 steps. I'm only at like 5,500 right now. I'm only like halfway there. I'm also writing a new book so I want to work on it and finish maybe 2 chapters tonight. So I'm going to write and walk on my walking pad to kill 2 birds with one stone. I hit my step count. Woo! I did not finish 2 chapters of my book, but I made some progress and that's what's important. Now I'm just going to do the dishes and get ready for bed because I have had a long full day. You want to give me a hand? Okay, feel free to step in, That's my man. Thanks, babe.
You're welcome.
It's time to take my makeup off. I'm all tucked in and ready for bed. Thanks for spending a busy and productive Monday with me. Bringing you guys along helped keep me accountable. I hope you had a great start to your week too. Good night! I'm trying a new Korean food every day for 7 days straight. I've lived in Korea for about 10 years, but I was vegan pretty much the whole time. That means I didn't eat meat, Seafood, or any dairy products. Even kimchi usually isn't vegan. But now I have no dietary restrictions so I'm ready to try some new foods. I made this wheel to help me decide what to eat every day. These are all foods that I've never tried before. The food that I want to try the most is definitely gamjatang. I've heard it's Delicious. The food that I want to try the least is sunnacchi, hands down. The thought of eating something that's still moving makes me feel a little guilty. It's lunchtime, so I'm going to spin the wheel and kick this challenge off. Ooh, I hope it's something good. Ready? Go, go, go, go, go! No way! Seriously? The universe hates me, I guess. Do we really have to eat this for lunch? I'm at Jagachi, Busan's biggest seafood market. I used to be very adventurous with food, but I'm actually so scared to try san-nakji—not because of the taste, but. I'm scared it's going to suction to my throat, and I'm gonna choke and die. I'm really worried. Wish me luck, guys. Oh, it's going in the crack. Is that okay? I'm scared. 네, 감사합니다. I googled how many people have died from eating sunnakti. 6 people. I heard the key is to chew a lot. They're all sticking together. These are big pieces. Ain't no way. Oh my God, I can't even grab it because it's moving around. Oh my gosh, do I really gotta do this? I'm so scared.
Why do you shake your head so much?
I'm gonna chew like 100 times because I'm paranoid. Two thousand years later. Okay, I'm sure it's good now. Done. I did it. I faced a fear today. It tasted good. I think the cameraman should try a piece. He's also never tried sangnakji. Don't you think?
Nope.
커피. Is it okay?
Whoa, whoa! Huh? 하나도 맛있는데? Pretty good. Yeah.
Good job. This is a prime example of don't knock it till you try it. It actually is really good. You just have to be careful. Round two. It's day two of trying new Korean foods. Yesterday, I said that I was most worried about eating sangnakji, and I survived. I'm still here. So I think today is going to be a piece of cake.
Ready?
Wow! 본데기. 제가 잘 먹고. Okay, let me. Okay, yeah, for sure. Wow! 가자. 야세요. 해장구 두 개랑 소주 한강 주세요.
Wow. 네, 좋은 거든.
In the U.S., if you're hungover and you have another drink the next day to get rid of the hangover, we call it the hair of the dog. I'm gonna get tipsy fast because I have an empty stomach. I'm using tongs to top my soup with green onion. I'm gonna load it up because I love green onion. All right, let's just go for it. It looks a bit spicy. Oh, there's already rice in it, so it's kind of like gukbap, maybe. Here we go. 맛있네요. It's very comforting and hearty. I can see how this could cure a hangover. Very delicious. I have tried kimchi. I've actually had congealed pig's blood before. It wasn't my cup of tea, but who knows? Let's try this again. It's pretty bland, actually. It doesn't taste like much. It kind of disintegrates in my mouth as well. This is better. It's not bad, but yeah, I don't think I would ever willingly order this. I would definitely order this again. It's day 3. And I have a bone to pick with you. Why did nobody tell me that it's 주구미? A friend just told me this last night. I honestly thought it was 구주미. I'm so embarrassed. Let me erase this and fix it. No, I like 구주미. Does it mean anything actually?
No.
주구. Okay, there we go. What is my fate today? Go, go, go! Oh, okay, Lotteria. This is actually— what, did I spell it wrong? Did I spell Budae Jjigae wrong?
Yeah.
Okay, okay, it sounds the same to me. Okay, okay, I need to work on my spelling. I'm actually really excited to try Lotteria. It's iconic here in Korea, and they just opened one in the US not too long ago as well. So let's see what the hype is all about. Ooh, they have a rice burger. I think that's pretty unique. You would never find this in the US. So let's try that. The shrimp burger, right? Maybe we should do it as a set. Whoa, you can customize your bun. I'm gonna get a butter bun. Is that the go-to? It was 18,500 Korean won. It's pretty good bang for your buck. In the US these days, even at McDonald's, this would cost a lot more. I always gotta try the fries first. It's very similar to to McDonald's fries, but it tastes like sour cream and onion with the powder on it. Extra points because it's fun to shake the bag. And now for the main event, the burgers. I'm going to start with the shrimp burger. Ooh, this thing is loaded. It's got lettuce and a bunch of sauce. It looks like tartar sauce to me.
Mmm!
It kind of reminds me of a fish fillet at McDonald's, which is my favorite menu item in the US, so I'm a big fan of this. Let's try the rice burger now. When I was vegan, I came here and ate a vegan burger that they had, but I'm not sure if that counts. So this is my first real Lotteria experience. Whoa! It's got rice patties, a fried egg, and some beef. Hmm, it's like handheld bibimbap. This is okay, but I actually like real bibimbap more. It's day 4, and I'm ready for lunch, so let's spin the wheel. Go, go, go! Oh yay! I've heard great things. About gamjatang, so my expectations are set very high for this one. This looks so good. Cold noodles are my favorite. Should I get this instead? It's so hot out today.
Ooh!
I'm wearing white today, so I need to put on an apron. I don't want a stain on my shirt. Thank you. They have some extra side dishes, but they're self-serve. Let's go get some. It smells so good. It's boiling right now. I'm ladling some of the broth onto the food. Why do you look so serious? I don't want to drop it. All the hot broth will Splash on us. How do you even eat this? Holy moly! That is a big hunk of meat.
Wow!
The meat is so tender; it just falls off the bone. Dip it in the sauce. It's like a mustard sauce. That is so good. It tastes similar to a dish in the U.S. called. Pot roast. I'm not sure what cut of meat pot roast is, but it tastes similar. Try it with some kimchi. This is delicious. I'm gonna wash it down with some icy cold makgeolli. Oh, cameraman, did you order some magguksu? What the heck? I told him not to order this, but I don't know. I guess he didn't listen to me. He insisted that we get these. Was that believable? So refreshing. Actually, this is the perfect combination: the spicy hot soup with the cold refreshing noodles. No notes. So good. Yeah, don't say that. Culture tip, I know in Korea it's kind of common to say 잘 먹어요, but don't say that to a woman in the US. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I knew that was coming. Out of everything I've tried so far in this challenge, this is number one for me. I'm Mad that I'm just now discovering gamjatang after all these years living in Korea. A little bit sad. I can't believe it's already day five. Let's spin to see what I'll be eating for dinner tonight. Whoa, sundae! Oh my gosh. Okay. You can't have sundae without tteokbokki. So I ordered yaptok. I thought, why not kill two birds with one stone here? Since yaptak is also on the wheel. I've seen a lot of yaptak mukbangs, and that's why I'm wearing my pajamas and a headband. I don't know why, but that's what the mukbangers wear when they eat this.
Whoa!
That's a lot of cheese. This is. Actually, the main event tonight. This definitely looks more appetizing, in my opinion. But who knows? I could be wrong. Here we go. Not bad at all. Honestly, it kind of tastes like a hot dog or something. Hot dog. It's a little bit. Mushy because of the glass noodles, but I expected a stronger taste. Let me try one more. Hmm, I like sundae. Did not expect that. Should I dig into the tteokbokki? I don't know if that did anything, but I tried hard for ASMR. Woo! Wow, I think I chose the regular spice level, but wow, my mouth is on fire. The heat builds. At first I thought I was okay, but then it just kept getting hotter and hotter. Tastes good though, but wow, it has a kick to it. Hmm? What is this? I'm not okay. Oh, I thought I could handle spicy food because I like kimchi, sundubu, malatang. This is next level. There were two more. There were two more levels. How? I underestimated this. I always heard it was spicy, but. I didn't think it would be this spicy. The cameraman has never tried yaptok either, which is crazy. But come on, cameraman!
I don't like tteokbokki.
Yes, you do. You always steal a bite when I have tteokbokki. Try. I challenge you. Look who's in the hot seat now. Haha. Oh my God, I hate spicy food.
Whoa, wow.
How is it?
Wow, I think it's torturing. Torture tastes good. Wow, I'm sweaty.
Whoa, whoa, pizza! Okay, I think that Korean pizza is very unique because I've seen pizza with Toppings like bugogi, corn, sweet potato, and shrimp, which I've never seen before in the U.S. And I think this is a great chance to visit one of Busan's most famous restaurants, IJMO. I hope there's not a long line. Moment of truth. Let's see if there is a wait. Waiting option. Luckily, we got seated right away, but it's still packed. Let's order. What's the most Korean thing on the menu here? Oh, kimchi bugogi. Okay, let's do this. I love that they have fountain pop. Extra points for that. And What's even better is they have self-serve pickles. I'm a certified pickle lover so I love that Koreans eat pickles with their pizza. We don't do that in the US. If we were to have a side with pizza in the US, it would usually be salad or breadsticks. Maybe chicken wings. I wish we did this in the U.S. It balances it so well. Wow! Load it up.
Wow!
There is a lot going on with this pizza. I can already see the crust. It's a hot dog inside. I'm excited to try something new.
Ooh!
And in Korea, you use a fork. A nice to eat pizza usually, right? Surprisingly, I don't taste the kimchi too much. I'm so curious about this sweet potato and hot dog crust. Okay, here we go.
Hmm.
I mean, I do like hot dogs, so it tastes good. This is kind of like a two. For one deal, you get a hot dog and pizza. I didn't hate it, but I'll probably stick to Detroit or New York style pizza. Maybe I'm biased. This is an over-the-top pizza. This challenge flew by. It's already the last day, so it's time to spin the wheel and see what I'm going to eat for my final Dinner. It better be something good. Come on! Don't tell me that's bondi. Is it? Oh no! Bondi. I'll do it. Gotta go out with the bang anyways, you know. Gotta. Let's go. We can't find the bondi. Where is it?
여기요. 나는.
감사합니다. You heard him. No bondagi. Sorry, guys.
You can get it at the mart. Canned one.
Canned bondagi?
Whoa.
Um, that sounds even worse, but okay. Sure. You're gonna try it with me?
No.
That's what I thought. They have it. Low-key, I was hoping they didn't have it. In English, it's silkworm pupa. This is a big can. Do they have a smaller? Oh, they do have a smaller can. Let's do this. You can feel them floating in here. Well, this is my final meal of the challenge. Seriously, let's crack this open.
Wow!
Woo wee! That has. A strong smell to it. I like a lot of stinky foods like cheese, eggs, and fish, so I'm staying cautiously optimistic. Even though it's a little smelly, maybe I'll like the taste of it.
You're a trooper.
You know what? It's not the first time I've eaten an insect before. I ate grasshoppers in Mexico. Okay, don't think about it, just do it. Down the hatch. Not for me. I actually wanted to like this because I heard it's good protein. Can I have some water? It tastes exactly how it smells, and that's the only way I can describe it. If you don't like something But you want to say it politely, or you don't want to offend someone, you can say it's not for me, or it's not my cup of tea.
That's disgusting!
That's the end of the challenge. It was actually a lot of fun trying different foods throughout the week. My favorite food that I tried was definitely tamjatang. My least favorite food. Was Bombegi. Let me know in the comments what you think I should try next. Bye! I'm in Tokyo, Japan. Today I'm gonna take you with me to all the tourist hotspots. Right now I am at Tsujiki Fish Market which is one of the most famous fish markets in the whole world. It's Only 9 a.m., and it's already packed. Let's go check it out. Let's get in line. Some tuna, fresh tuna. Hi. For here, please. Two. Yep. This is the most popular thing in the market—the viral fatty tuna. It's an extra special experience for me because it's my first piece of sushi in Japan ever. I'm very excited. It's so fresh. They slice it right in front of you. They give you. 3 different cuts of tuna. I'm using chopsticks and dipping it in soy sauce. It almost melts in your mouth. Wow, very delicious, high-end tuna. I love it. Two plain, please. Yes. Arigato gozaimasu. The next thing I'm trying is tamagoyaki, which is a rolled-up fluffy omelette, and they serve it on a skewer. Whoa! I love eggs, so I think I'll love this as well. I always think of egg as a savory food, but this is quite sweet.
Mmm!
I need to take a photo of this. Sorry, excuse me. It's time to break out the fan. I'm sweating. Whoa! If you're traveling to Japan in the summer, bring one of these. 中西兰。 Can we get wasabi too? Ah, oh, okay. Thank you. Whoa, look at the char on it. Looks amazing. We got wagyu skewers. It's black Japanese beef. I guess it's a very special kind of beef. They have wasabi in a squeeze bottle. I'll try my first bite without the wasabi. Very tender. So good. Yes, yes, enjoy. I think I'll like it even more with salt and wasabi. All right, let's see. Holy moly, that is good. Tender, greasy, amazing. Should I share with the cameraman? I don't know. I think I could eat. Two of these. Okay, come on. Wow, 미천네! Crazy delicious.
Wow, this is like the best beef I've ever had.
He's a tough critic, so that's how you know it's good.
When I say good, it's like five out of five.
I've always wanted to try uni. To be honest, I. I never really thought I would like it, but I think Japan is the place to try it. Wow, it's very soft. It almost turns to liquid, and it's not super fishy. Very good. Okay, let me try with the wasabi. I like it.
Okay.
Okay. My next stop is Asakusa so I'm gonna hop on the subway to get there. Everything in Japan is so convenient. I love that even in the subway station you can rent a charger or an umbrella. The weather forecast said it's supposed to rain later so this might come in handy. We got our tickets and our change. I made it to Asakusa. Let's explore Sensoji Temple which is the oldest Buddhist temple in Tokyo. The street leading to the temple is filled with stalls selling food and souvenirs. I heard I've heard that this soft serve is a must in Japan. First taste of this iconic ice cream. Mmm. It's almost a little bit sweet and salty. And for the cone, it looks like they use a cookie or a wafer of some sort. This is the perfect treat to help cool me down.
What a service.
Princess treatment. I'm gonna get my fortune told. 81 sounds like a lucky number to me. Now I just find this. Oh, that's gotta be good fortune. It's at the top. Okay, I'll read it and summarize.
Woohoo!
I think it's great. It basically says that I'll be successful. Wealth and fortune will come to me as I desire. Also, any difficulties will change into happiness and I will be very prosperous. Woohoo! I'm gonna hang on to this.
Your fame will grow up higher among the people.
You're trying to get famous? Are you going to take over my channel?
Give me that camera. 안녕하세요, 홍생 제일 나름이다. 오늘은 영월을 가리쳐드리게요.
Betrayal, betrayal. I feel reassured. Gave me a good sense of positivity, motivation, drive. Let's go. Everyone on the internet is raving about these fried sandwiches, so I'm gonna see if it's worth the hype. Can I please get one crème brûlée? Just one is okay.
Okay.
Yep, thank you so much. This is beautiful. They torched it. Mmm, it tastes like an elephant ear at the fair. Wow, this is actually so good. Crème brûlée was the right move. I'm on Takeshita Street in Harajuku. Let's go look around. There are so many people here. Lots to see, lots to do, lots to eat. Where do I begin? I stopped in a store with all these little toy vending machines. I wanna buy something cute here. I'm running low on coins. I thought about going with Hello Kitty since it's so classic, but then I stumbled upon these guys and they're so cute. I'm gonna get one of these. Oh, it's cute. How much is it? Is it in the budget? That's pretty steep. All right, too expensive to take home with me. I'm at Shibuya Crossing, and there's just a wall of people. Across from me. It's a little scary. Here we go. So many people are stopping in the middle of the road and taking selfies. I probably photobombed so many people. It's kind of surprising how short the light is, especially considering it's a major intersection. Ooh, I actually want To see this from above next time. One more time. Going home. Bye. We're packed in like sardines. Okay, here we go. Wow! Riding the subway in Tokyo during rush hour. This tower is not for the weak. For me, it was kind of a fun and exciting new experience, but if you're claustrophobic, I do not recommend.
Hello.
I have a reservation. For dinner, we came to a restaurant that specializes in eel. I got a matcha highball to start. Not bad, not bad. Thank you. While ordering, I actually asked for less rice because that's an option on the menu, but it's still huge. A little bit of rice and eel. Really good.
I think this is the thickest eel I've ever had.
This is less than 3,000. That's a steal.
Thank you.
They were so friendly. 10 out of 10. Highly recommend that place. The food was delicious. The vibe was great. I had a unique cocktail. Perfect way to end the day. Actually, I'm not ending the day yet. I'm going to the Golden Gai for a nightcap. Let's go. There was a Don Quijote on the way, so I had to stop in. Oh my gosh, they have the melon! This is my favorite chocolate in the world. We couldn't find it for a long, long time, and here it is. It's got to be the melon flavor. It's the best. You gotta buy at least 10. Right? Let's start with one today. I practiced good self-control And only bought four things, mostly because I need to do some more research before coming back again. I'm proud of myself.
Hi.
Hi. Hello. One piece one hundred. Mm-hmm.
My brother-in-law from Michigan.
Really? Novi. Novi.
What? Yes.
That's crazy.
They're going to South Korea the first time. Oh wow.
Very nice. Which one should we start with? This one.
Okay.
More expensive. Ah, okay. Ganbai! Ooh, that is smooth. I can tell it's more expensive. I like this one.
Bye! Bye!
Uh-huh. That looks so good.
Yeah.
Oh, okay, we'll try it. Yes, thank you, thank you. Today was such an amazing day in Tokyo. Thanks for coming along on the adventure with me. I'll see you next time. Bye! I'm in Tokyo, Japan, and today I'm only taking you to places recommended by locals. One of my followers said that I should go to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building because they have free observation decks. That's amazing! I feel like observation decks usually cost an arm and a leg, so this is a great pro tip. I'm hoping to get a view of the city before it rains. Let's go. I made it. Wow, it's so tall. I have to go up to the 45th floor. My ears were popping on the elevator. It's a little bit foggy today, but I still got a great view of the skyline. I definitely think it's worth checking this place out especially because it's completely free which is crazy. Thank you for the excellent recommendation. I'm in Asakusa because someone recommended a very traditional Japanese restaurant in this area. They serve something called loach fish. I've never heard of it before. But I'm excited to get out of my comfort zone and try something completely new. Wow! This wooden building on the corner is the restaurant. It looks very old and traditional. So cool. Hello. Just one person. Is it okay? Okay. Okay. Do you write tables or Japanese style? Maybe Japanese style. I put my shoes here. Take my shoes off?
Yes, please.
Okay. I'm sitting cross-legged on the floor, Japanese style, and look at the view out the window. Gorgeous. This is the loach. I got it without bones and without the head. I think this is tofu and konnyaku. It kind of looks like a popsicle though. They keep bringing more and more food out. Wow, this is the perfect meal for a rainy day. It smells so good. This is what it looks like. They recommend dipping it in some pepper, and they also have sauce. It's very soft and mild, not super fishy or anything. I like it. Ah, oh, okay. Ah, okay. Thank you. She just dumped a bunch of sauce on it, so I bet it's gonna be even tastier now. So good. This is so sweet. It tastes like dessert. It's so yummy. Wow, that place was an absolute gem. They had an English menu, so I'm sure they do get some tourists, but when I was there, I was the only non-Japanese person. It's definitely somewhere I couldn't have found on my own. Last night I went to a sake bar and the bartender said that her favorite sweet potato cake is also in this area, so I'm on the hunt for it now. Look how dark the sky is. I feel like it's gonna downpour any minute now, but I came prepared today. I have an umbrella with me. Oh my It's pouring right now. I don't know what anything is, but I'm gonna go with my heart on this one. I'm gonna get two of these. I hope this is right. Wow, it looks like jelly. So interesting. Mmm, it has that really strong. Sweet potato flavor. It's kind of like sweet potato paste. I like it. I'm heading to my next stop, Bongen Coffee in Ginza. Let's go. What's most popular? Our shop recommendation is this one, Bongen Radish. Okay, super strong espresso latte. Oh yes, if you like espresso, really recommend. Okay, it'll give me some energy. Light roast, dark roast, and fruit. I usually go for dark roast. House blend. House blend. Okay, I'll go for the dark roast please. I got a latte from Bongeng Coffee. It's one of the bougiest coffee shops I've ever been I think it cost about eight US dollars. Not cheap, but it looks really good and high quality. So let's try it. Mmm, that's a well-made latte. It's quite strong and bitter like she said it would be, but that's how I like my coffee. I was told to come to Kichi Joji, so. So that's where I am now. I made a dinner reservation in the area for tonight, but I have some time to kill so I'm just gonna kind of look around and explore the area. I want to see what this neighborhood has to offer. I randomly came across this puppy cafe and I want to check it out. Let's go! Hi! So cute! Oh my God! Them a treat. They can smell it. Be patient. Be patient. Oh, oh! He was aggressive.
Calm down. Calm down.
He's devouring this. Hey, hey, hey, hey!
Down.
Down. All right. You're cute. You get the last bite. Okay. I made a friend. He's so cute. Hi. He just gave me a kiss. Okay, he's my favorite. He's on my lap. I might have to take him home. Oh, bye-bye. Someone broke out the treats and he left. That was so fun. I got my puppy fix. The only Problem is, I want to take them all home with me. Oh, I want a dog so bad. Maybe one day. I was excited because I made the reservation like two days ago. Yeah, the one in Shibuya is like completely booked. I heard it's almost impossible to get. So wow, just a walk up then. I think so. Yeah. They say to take the first bite as is without any sauce or condiments. What the heck? That's so juicy. It's so flavorful too, even without any sauce.
Itadakimasu!
Dude, it looks so plain and simple, but it's a total flavor bomb. It's really amazing. Hands down, this is my favorite thing I've eaten in Tokyo so far. I added radish And ponzu sauce. I'm trying to eat slowly and savor it. I'm beating the egg. I'm dipping the patty into the egg mixture. This might be one of the top meals I've ever had in my life. I'm not being dramatic; it's that good.
Whoo!
I gotta walk this off. I have a food baby now. So good though, really. This place is viral for a reason. We like this area. It's a nice place to walk around. It seems kind of trendy and hipster here.
Reminds me of Shinsa or Apgujeong.
It's quiet, but there's a lot of local stores here, which is really cool. I wish that we had had better weather, could have explored more. Oh, where they come to Japan? Yeah, they were funny. That was a cool interaction. Packed, hey? We're with our friend KJ right now. We first met him in California, and now we found him in Tokyo, and he's showing us all the best local bars.
Hey guys!
Cheers! Hey hey hey hey! What's your name? Small Nagi. I didn't know it was like so uncommon. To eat. Yeah, I've never eaten it. Why? Crazy YouTuber. You know what? Tofu. Okay, that's next level.
Also, she recently had live octopus too.
I did. Yeah, that was fun.
