마르는 요나 일기. I'm about to go to bed, but I wanted to give you guys a little life update. I feel like I've really settled in and adjusted to life in Busan. I really like the vibe here, and there's always so many things to do here on weekends. For example, last weekend they shut down Gwana-li Bridge and lots of people were walking on the bridge and eating brunch, which was a really cool experience. Also, I've been staying pretty busy because I recently started taking Korean classes again. To be honest, my Korean is a bit rusty, so it's been really nice getting back into a classroom and practicing my Korean again. I take these classes twice a week and they are actually provided by the government. I'm kind of a nerd and I love anything academic, so it's been a lot of fun for me hitting the books again and getting to meet new friends here in Busan. The class is 4 hours long, so I always get hungry and it's not always easy, but the teacher is so sweet, So even though it's a very long class, it's very enjoyable. I also recently went back to Seoul because I had a lot of events and meetings that I had to participate in. Even though I lived in Seoul for a long time, it kind of felt like vacation. We rode the KTX there and we stayed in a hotel in Hongdae, so I really felt like a tourist. I was so shocked going out and about in Hongdae because the lines at Olive Young, in Daiso, and even the pharmacy were insane. All of the lines were out the door. It wasn't a super long trip, but of course I had to catch up with some friends while I was there. I met up with a friend for shopping in Hongdae and we also enjoyed a really delicious meal at a Chinese restaurant there. The food was really delicious, especially the jjajangmyeon. I really recommend this restaurant, so I'll make sure to share that info with you here. I also met up with another friend for more shopping in Seongsu, and man, it was packed there. I'm not usually a big shopper, but I had a few things that I needed so I went on a shopping spree. Everything in Seongsu feels so trendy and hip, and there were crowds of so many young people there. It was a lot of fun, and I bought a purse that I'm obsessed with. I was quite busy during this trip to Seoul, but of course, I had to make time to eat at some good matjibs while I was there. I have 2 places that I really want to recommend. The first one is Travel Makers. It's an American breakfast spot and you can get a huge breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, and pancakes for a pretty affordable price. The atmosphere of the restaurant also really reminded me of home and the best part is you get free refills for your coffee. The other place I want to recommend is more of a dessert spot. It's called Açaí Monkey. They sell açaí bowls with all kinds of delicious toppings like fresh fruit and granola. And the owner there was so sweet, and she actually lived in Australia, which is where she learned about this dessert and decided to bring it to Korea. It's a must-eat while in Hongdae. One of the biggest reasons why I went back to Seoul was to film a video with Lee Seung Joon. I was so excited and couldn't believe that he reached out to me and invited me to be on his show. Filming with him was such a cool experience. He's really down to earth and chill, so I felt very comfortable filming with him. I will say it was a bit challenging as well though because everything was done on the He asked a lot of questions and I just hope that I answered them all well. He told me that he's learning English because his goal is to do stand-up comedy in the US one day, which I think is really cool and I would love to see him at a show there. I got my hair and makeup professionally done, which was also a really great feeling because I rarely ever get glammed up like that. We went to a photo studio so that I could get some more profile photos. Finally, I had an orientation for both our new offline and online classes as well as a farewell party for the first boot camp that just ended. I was really proud of everyone's hard work and can't wait to see what these new students can accomplish. Now I'm back in Busan and just kind of getting back into my daily life here. Which I'm very excited about. I hope you're all doing well and are happy and healthy. Chuseok is right around the corner, so I hope whether you have plans or not, you enjoy yourselves and have a safe and very happy holiday. Take care, and I'll see you next time. Bye!
