A native English speaker describes summer heat in the American Southwest, where temperatures exceed 100°F for 45 days straight. Even with misting fans, outdoor dining feels like standing in front of an oven set to 450°F.
The only thing is the winters get a little cold, and then the summers here are extremely hot. This summer we had 45 days of 100+ degree weather. If you can withstand the summers and deal with it, I mean, you're indoors at the pool or something, but really can't enjoy eating at an outdoor cafe. And they have a lot of those misting fans, still very hot. The only way I could describe it is if you have the oven on at 450 degrees and you go to open it to get something out and a gust of heat hits you. Shit. That's how it feels the whole time you're standing outside. Oh my gosh. I don't know if I've ever experienced heat like that.
