Hello everybody! I've got a super special guest with me today. Her name is Estelle. So can you introduce yourself, Estelle?
My name is Estelle and I'm like 8 years old. I'm in the 3rd grade and my birthday is June 30th.
What did you do this year for your birthday?
We had theme Ariel, but it wasn't so much fun. What?
How come?
Because my mommy was sick. She was like sleeping the whole Whole entire park.
So I brought us some stuff to paint today because I know how creative you are. So I thought we could play a game where we paint a little bit, maybe for 5 minutes, and then we switch paintings, and then we add something to each other's and then switch. How's that sound?
Okay.
I need you to save my painting because I'm not good at painting. That's why I'm switching you. Okay, are you ready to get started?
Mhm.
You can paint whatever you want. Do you have any ideas what you're going to paint?
No.
You can think about it for a little bit, let the inspiration come.
You ready to see that?
Yep, go for it. What colors do you need?
Just, I think, yellow now and a little bit either green.
Do you have art class in school?
Yeah.
What kinds of things do you do in art class?
We just talk about painters and we draw something like Henri Matisse.
Whoa, that's pretty cool. What's your favorite class in school?
There was speech writing, but now in third grade there's no I won the speech contest, didn't you? Yeah.
What was your speech about?
Our goals for 2024.
What was your goal?
Drinking more water and saying goodbye to my friends earlier.
Drinking water is so healthy. Did you stick to your goal? Have you been drinking more water?
Yeah.
Yeah?
And being tidy, but I didn't finish my goal to saying goodbye to my friends.
How's your picture going?
Bad.
I don't think it's going worse than mine. You gave me some inspiration with what we were talking about earlier. Maybe you can guess mine.
Oh, Ariel?
Maybe. Are you gonna be ready to switch soon?
I didn't even start.
Okay, we'll give you some more time. I messed mine up. I think my mermaid has like an extra arm or something. Estelle, how did you first learn English? Do you speak English with your mom?
Yeah, in my house and like outside. Kinda started naturally.
Your mom told me how good you were before we talked and I believed her, but then when I talked to you, I couldn't believe like really how good at English you were. What do you like to do with your friends?
Read. Scrapbook and we play like run around. We trade like toys.
Oh, what kind of toys are you into?
Shopkins.
Are they little dogs?
Yeah.
I used to love scrapbooking too.
This is like too much. I didn't even finish anything.
That's okay, we're a team. Maybe you can see mine and then see how close we are.
Yeah, we're definitely not close.
Can I look at yours?
Yeah.
Oh, this is good though. You've got a scene going. Do you want to add a few more things quick and then we'll switch? Okay, go for it. So your friends must be pretty creative too if you guys are like scrapbooking together.
We usually make board games. We make characters like, so I'm Estelle and Emily and Celine, Ian and Deanna, they're the characters. It's based on our names. Ah. Draw the characters and stick it. Whoa!
So you create yourself like as a character. That's really cool. That sounds like hard work.
It's not that much hard.
Should we show the camera round 1 swap?
So this is a mermaid?
Yes. Well, it can be, you can change it. It doesn't have to be a mermaid.
I'm gonna draw a mermaid.
Estelle, what's your favorite season?
Winter. I don't like summer that much because it's too hot.
Oh, that's true. What do you like to do in winter?
Play with snow and like snowball fights.
Ooh, those are fun.
Going to the Christmas village.
I love Christmas, but I can't stand the cold. I'd rather be hot than cold.
Yeah, I like hot more than cold, but it's just like the winter view is so pretty.
That's true. Do you get a lot of homework in 3rd grade?
Yeah, too much.
Oh no.
Our teacher is more like a homework person, so the other classes only have a few homework, but 11 pages of math, and we also have grammar, 3 pages.
And yeah. Wow, that's a lot. What's your favorite subject and what's your least favorite subject?
PE is my least.
What do you do in PE? Like play dodgeball and stuff?
Yeah, that's too hard.
Uh-huh.
But I'm not like a sports person. I only run. I only like to run.
Oh, running is your thing? I didn't used to like PE and I hated dodgeball.
I always get hit in the head.
In the head? No, that sounds like it hurts.
There's too much boys in the other team. There's 8 boys and there's only like 5 girls. What?
It's boys against girls?
Yeah, but the PE teacher is our team, but still we can't win the boys. They're like complaining, why is the teacher on the girls team?
It's only fair. What's your favorite subject then?
Art and music.
Are you learning how to play an instrument?
No, not like that. We just sing The Sound of Music OST.
I love The Sound of Music. That's really fun. Estelle, have you traveled much?
No, like in another country?
Either in another country or in Korea?
We went to Vietnam and Vietnam was like a disaster and it was like 5 years ago and there was a tsunami.
Was it scary?
We just hid in the blanket.
Whoa. Do you ever want to travel to another country?
Yeah, I want to travel to London. I live in America but my mommy says wait until you're older.
Why do you want to go to London?
London like has all the Big Ben, and there's like the Hamley shop, and there's scones and all the good stuff, right?
Okay, maybe one more minute and swap. Sounds good.
Yeah, but I didn't even add anything. I just colored.
That's okay.
Oh my, this is bad. I literally colored the mermaid's face red. It's all right.
There's no such thing as a bad art. Let's show where we're at.
I don't want to show it.
She looks good. I like the blonde hair.
No. It looks like you got hurt.
You put a shark in there or something. No. Well, you added a lot more than me. You were doing harder work than I did. Mine was very simple.
I saw one of your videos. Uh-huh.
Which video did you see?
The morning routine.
I heard you were wanting to start your own YouTube channel.
Yeah, I already started.
You started your channel?
I only do them a little bit in like 3 months, 1 video, I guess.
Can I follow you?
Yeah.
Subscribe to Estelle's channel.
You have like so many followers.
Soon you'll pass me. You'll pass me soon.
No, I only have 9.
I had 9 before too. When I first started, we didn't have any subscribers. Okay, I think we made some progress with the face here.
I forgot how to make pink. Oh, oh yeah, white mixed with red. Disney one more time.
Ta-da! I like the colors, it's artsy. Okay, do you want to show it to the camera? Nice! So what's your favorite animal?
These things, I think I like cats. Mine is white cat, so I like white cats.
Do you play with him a lot?
We do, but not when I'm in school. And there's no pet day!
You can't bring your pet to school?
Yeah. I wish we had pet day.
Right? That would be so fun.
Did you ever have a dog?
I did. Actually, I had cats too. So I'm just a little bit allergic. Like if I pet them and then get close to my face, then I sneeze a lot. But I love cats, so I always want to pet them. So I was always kind of sad when I couldn't pet the cats.
Did you cry?
Probably.
I'm a little bit scared like now because what if a bird comes by and poops on my head?
No!
I keep having the thought because a bird just passed by.
Has it ever happened to you before?
No.
It's happened to me before. I'm not joking. I wish I was. I was in New York having a picnic and a bird flew overhead and pooped right on my head.
You were with somebody?
I was with Hong. He so cranky that day, but then when I got pooped on, suddenly he started laughing.
What?
Yeah, I was like, why are you smiling now? Grand reveal! 1, 2, 3! Oh, tea castle!
Yeah, it's a tea castle.
I just kind of went crazy with the colors. Abstract art. You did good. High five! It's our first masterpiece. And in the beginning, Estelle had a really good setting with the sun and the rainbow, and I added the grass and flowers.
I just colored it in at first because I didn't want it to be too messy, and then I just drew a castle, but then it went funky, so I just stick with the funky style. So I just called it a water power mermaid.
That's smart.
I think number 2 is way more better than number 1.
So Estelle votes for the mermaid, but I'm going to vote for this one. I like all the colors and patterns, so Let us know in the comments if you vote for number 1 or number 2. How was painting today? Yeah, good. Good? Thank you so much for watching and check out our pinned comment and see you next time. Thank you, Estelle.
