A store clerk asks for a phone number to sign up for a free rewards program. The shopper doesn't have a U.S. number, so the clerk accepts an email instead and explains how to opt out of marketing emails.
Can you type in your phone number for me, please? I don't have a US phone number. Do you have an email? Um, I do have an email, yep. Uh, press the X on the keypad and just confirm everything's correct. Okay, is this signing me up for something, or— Uh, it's a free rewards account. You get a gift today. I won't spam you with any emails. Let me opt you out of the emails. It's worth the gift, I promise. All right, you pick something out. Oh, the birthday is a little far away, but it's okay.
