The challenge with family businesses is that instead of starting with the script and then finding the characters, you start with the characters and then you just keep moving the script around to make it work. I found at the end of the day, the business has to come first. You have to do what's best for the business. Once you prioritize that and you have some hard conversations to have. Early in my career, I ran from conflict, or I hid from it, or I just delayed it as much as possible. Now I just. I just get dialed up and I just deal with it as soon as possible. Sooner you can get to the real conversation and rest slope when has to happen, the faster everything goes right. And then sort of applying and moving the characters around to fit the script is the sort of, I would say, the mistake you made for a lot of years.
