You need to turn off the notifications on your phone and your laptop. The reality is those little minute distractions pull us away from the actual focus work, and we don't think it's that important. But a little distraction. A little distraction. A little distraction. Imagine if the postman came to your home and delivered one letter at a time, one piece of junk mail at a time, and he rang the doorbell for all 72 pieces that he was dropping off in the course of the week. You'd lose your mind. So turn off the notifications on your phone and your laptop. The only notifications you really need are for your favorite right? The most important people, either on your leadership team or you're in your family, or for your calendar appointments so that you're not late to show up for a meeting. But all the other busy work messages, slacks, email notifications, all of that stuff can wait. Not only do I not have any notifications alerting me that something's happening, but I don't even have those little red numbers happening on any of my buttons on my desktop or on my phone.
