Cameron Herold tells the story of three brickmakers at the Sagrada Família in Barcelona. One sees only bricks. Another sees a wall. The third sees a cathedral to worship God. Same work, different purpose.
You ever heard me tell the story of the 3 guys making bricks? Uh-uh. 125 years ago in Spain, Barcelona, there's these 3 guys sitting in the dirt and they're making bricks. And they asked the first guy, what are you doing? He said, I'm making bricks. They asked the second guy, what are you doing? He said, I'm building a wall and I get to make the bricks to build a wall. They asked the third guy, what are you doing? He said, we're building a cathedral to worship God. It's the Sagrada Familia and I get to make the bricks to build the left wall of the cathedral. I get chills just telling that story because the guy who's building the Sagrada Familia is so much more inspired than the guy who's making bricks. And all 3 of them are just making bricks.
