And my God, it's 2023. If you can't have a personal relationship with somebody of the other sex without one of you trying to have sex with each other, you're really missing the point. You're missing the opportunity. This is business. So one of the core things that we need to do as a CEO is build a very, very strong personal relationship with our coo. And I call it like having the business marriage, right? Where you have that marriage between a husband and wife in a, in a personal relationship. You need that same kind of powerful relationship with your CEO and CEO. I was asked a question recently. Well, how do you do that if it's a mixed gender situation? Let's say that you're a male CEO of a company, you have a female CEO or you're the female CEO and you have a male CEO, Are you still supposed to have that kind of business spouse? Are you still supposed to be spending time on a personal relationship with somebody? Yes. Doesn't mean you're sleeping with them. Going for coffee, playing tennis, going for golf, having dinners together, having a relationship and a personal relationship with someone is based on mutual respect and mutual trust and shared interest. And my God, it's 2023. If you can't have a personal relationship with somebody of the other sex without one of you trying to have sex with each other, you're really missing the point. You're missing the opportunity. This is business. The female in the relationship understands that it's business and wants it that way. The male in the relationship wants it that way. And it could also be two gay guys or two straight guys or two females, whatever, it doesn't matter. But you need to have a personal relationship which fonders and builds trust. It builds respect. The reality is it's the base of that pyramid that Pat Lencioni talks about in Five Dysfunctions of a Team. So you absolutely need to work at having that personal relationship and a very strong personal relationship as the CEO and COO inside of the company. Make it happen. So don't stop now. Click here.
