Every day you wake up, there will be a surprise. You don't know if it's good or bad. You just mentally prepare yourself. It's going to be bad. Something bad will happen today. You are responsible for dealing with it. And so then there's no emotion, right? You just like, you walk into it and it's like, ah, this thing happened. Okay, no worries. Let's figure it out. No problem. I try to box when I look at Slack. I try to box when I look at email and I try to chunk it. And there's like so much literature and research that shows you, you just degrade your ability to make great decisions. If you're looking at 2 or 3 or 4 different things at the same time, or if you superficially float by things and don't kind of dive in. People making decisions on Slack and Teams, like, you're not thinking it through.
