Every company is like a jigsaw puzzle without a picture on the box. A vivid vision is a four-to-five-page description of what your company will look, act, and feel like in three years. It gives your team direction instead of confusion.

I picture every company like a jigsaw puzzle. If your mom gave you a jigsaw puzzle and there was no picture on the front of the box, it's really confusing as to what we're building. You need to have that picture, what I call the vivid vision. The idea is to write a four or five page description of what your company looks like, acts like, and feels like three years in the future. Almost as if you hopped into a time machine and you walked around and looked at what your company looked like, and then you can figure out how to make that come true. That's the picture of the jigsaw puzzle.
