Cameron Herold tells CEOs they're wasting $5,900 a year if their COOs skip the monthly virtual events and in-person gatherings included in the membership. Make your COO attend all 12 sessions, block two hours monthly for learning, and debrief afterward on what they learned and will implement.

I realized that we're doing a big disservice for our members. I'm not pushing hard enough to get you, the CEO, to make sure that your COO is showing up. So here's the deal. You're paying $5,900 for your COO to be a member for the year. That's 12 monthly events. Get them to come to all 12. Give them the encouragement that you want them taking those 2 hours away from the business every month so that they're showing up, they're learning, they're working on their confidence, they're working on their connections, they're working on their skills. And also push your COO, if they're not already, come to at least 1 or 2 of the in-person events that we hold every year. We've got next one coming up in September at MIT's Endicott House in Boston. Get them to come to that. That's where they're going to get the really good value. So I'm pushing you, the CEO, to invest in your leaders, invest in your COO, and make sure that they're showing up. One of the best ways to do that is debrief with them. Spend 10 minutes after every single monthly event and ask them what they learned, who they met, and what they're going to be putting in place. But really encourage them to show up. You're going to get huge value and they're going to get huge value. Your COO is not going to grow unless they show up and they actively participate.
