Be a Job Creator Not a Job Taker

Ryan Daniel Moran argues that building a business and creating jobs matters more than training for employment. He frames entrepreneurship as the path to solving problems and building wealth, not just earning a paycheck.

When I was a kid, I was taught that if I worked hard in school and got good grades, I could get into a good college. And if I got into a good college, then I could be trained to get a good job. This comes from a mentality that was based on the fact that there were big businesses who would be around forever and they would always need to hire new people. And so if we had good graduates from college, they could get good jobs. The era of training people to just go get jobs is over. It's done. We have assumed that jobs will always be stagnant and always be there. But we are living in a time of the greatest innovation ever. And we don't need more people to be trained to get jobs. We need more people to be trained to create jobs. We need more people to be trained to be entrepreneurs. And right now we are having this argument about what the school system should look like, how much government should be involved, what system is best for who. And it's the wrong argument to have. Because what we are arguing over is how to indoctrinate people rather than to free them up to create new things, to create new jobs, to create new businesses. And at the end of the day, what we need more of is job creators, not job takers. We have trained people and indoctrinated them that if they do the right things, then they can just coast for the rest of their lives. But in today's economy, we need people trained to give value to create value. Whether they're in an organization or they start the organization, they must have a mindset of creating value. My name is Ryan Daniel Moran and I'm the founder of capitalism.com and I'm the host of the Freedom Fast Lane podcast. And I started capitalism.com because I believe that capitalism and entrepreneurship is the best way to solve all of the world's problems. Our problems will not be solved by governments. They will not be solved by waiting for the right politician or voicing an angry opinion about the wrong politician. It will come from individuals being freed up to create and other individuals creating value in alignment with a mission that a for profit business is out to solve. That is what will create change in the world. That's what will solve diseases. That's what will bring opportunities to the third world. That's what will expand lifespans. It's what will make healthcare affordable. Not by getting government more involved, but by freeing up entrepreneurship. Not by indoctrinating people to go out and just hope that they get a job, but training them to create value and Create opportunities and to create businesses. That's what we exist to do@capitalism.com because we know government isn't going to do it. We know government isn't going to train people to do that. So we must do it as a private organization. One of the ways that we do that is we train people who want to be entrepreneurs and we teach them the skills of building a business. If you want to be an entrepreneur, you want to create more value or you want a different life for yourself, it's your personal responsibility to do something about that. So we teach the skills and the tactics to build build successful businesses. We have hundreds of successful students who were not entrepreneurs just a few years ago. And if you want to be an entrepreneur, if you want to start a business that you can scale, if you want to start a business that solves problems, we teach that in free training classes. And if you like the model or you like what we're doing, or you want to take the next step, we have incubators, we have connections, we have workshops to allow individuals to be around people who can support them, who can allow them to have more skills, to grow even faster and put them in the situations and give them the training that they need in order to make a real impact, rather than waiting for someone else to solve the world's problems. If you believe that waiting for government or waiting for politicians to solve the world's problems is a bad strategy and, and a better idea is to empower entrepreneurs to free people up, to give people personal responsibility to do something about the problems in the world.
