Ryan Daniel Moran (speaking for Capitalism.com) argues that the crypto boom and short-term speculation (e.g., bitcoin) distract from proven long-term wealth strategies: building businesses, investing in stocks, and real estate. He contrasts fast 'spikes' with long-term appreciation (Amazon’s multi-year growth; Costco reportedly ~200x over decades), and gives entrepreneurial examples — his first physical products brand started with $600 and later sold for over $10 million, a student (Troy) selling Foxbrim for a few million, and Vital Proteins raising ~20+ million — to show value creation and long-term investing beat chasing new cryptocurrencies.

Well, tough week for bitcoin prices. Cryptocurrencies are crashing. Oh, buddy, how are we ever going to afford a Lambo? How are we all going to drive around in sports cars when bitcoin is crashing? Look, we've been hearing a lot about cryptocurrencies and the boom that is happening. It turns out. I know this is going to shock a lot of people, but turns out there are more ways to make money than just investing in random new currencies that some tech person invented. They're brand new ways to make money. They're called stocks and real estate and creating real businesses, providing real value in the world. Look, it's sexy, it's hot to talk about how so and so made a billion dollars investing in some new thing. But that's not how the vast majority of wealthy people got rich. Okay? Most people get rich playing the long game and providing value in the world. For example, Amazon.com stock looks a whole lot like a bitcoin chart with a huge spike, an exponential curve up. The only difference is takes 10 years because that's what it takes to get rich. It takes 10 to 15 years. Sometimes even things like, oh, retail is dying, right? So there's all the retail companies are going out of business. But if you had bought Costco stock 20 years ago, you'd be a millionaire today. Actually that is true because Costco stock has gone up like 200x in the last couple decades. Not months, but decades. Because those who play the long game are those who win. Now. It's not going to take decades in order for everyone to be successful. For example, the best investment I ever made was in starting a business. I started my first physical products brand with $600. I then built and sold that company for more than $10 million. Some of the products I have sitting here on my desk and it's not like I am some ninja at this, if you watch Shark Tank, most of the businesses that get funded are physical products brands. You take something like this is a company that's, that's exploding right now. It's called Vital Proteins. They're a, they're a collagen company. They just, they were, they just raised 20 some million dollars to produce more protein. And they weren't like this. This is a simple product. It's not all that different from what else is in the marketplace. But because they have put a good product in the marketplace, it's available on places like Amazon.com they're able to raise a ton of money. And now they're a Multimillion dollar company. Now I know that's a big example, but here's a little one from one of our students. His name is Troy. He started a company called Foxbrim. This is the face scrub. And it's not like Troy was in the back room making this face scrub. He had someone else making the product. He put a few thousand dollars into a business, sold this company for a couple million bucks. Look, money is not made in the short term. Big spikes in things like cryptocurrencies. Money is made when there is real value created in the world. When you start something that makes someone else's life better. And it's not like you don't have to change the world. You. You have to provide enough value to enough people to change your world. That's how you get successful and free. And then you invest your profits into other places for the long term, like stocks and real estate and other businesses and funds. And we can talk about that another time. But the real value is made by building businesses that provide value for people and investing the profits. That's why@capitalism.com we have so many seven figure success stories. Because we teach our students to choose products that actually make a meaningful difference in people's lives. Now, it doesn't mean you have to change their life, just means you have to make a meaningful difference in their day. Give them a product that they want and do that enough to where you have a seven figure business that you can scale or sell. That's how you get successful. Not chasing these fly by night ideas. So can we stop this conversation about what the next bitcoin is going to be? And can we have this conversation of if you want to be successful, if you want to be wealthy, start something that makes a difference in somebody else's life, then take your profits and invest it into other places that will grow for wealth and cash flow over the long term. That's how you get successful.
