Okay. Boy.
What an adventure that was, getting things live. So thank you all for sticking with me. Apparently, the webinar was so full that we crashed my own server. So that's what I get for trying to do this on my own.
And not using my GoToWebinar, trying to do this on Google Hangout. So.
Forgive me for the technical difficulties. Thank you for sticking with me and I guess we'll go ahead and get started.
So today, what I wanted to talk about was talk about Amazon. I want to talk about amazing selling machine and I want to talk about the tribe. I want to talk about exactly what that looks like. And I want to talk about.
I want to talk about what the benefits are for coming in. And look, I'm going to be mentoring a group of 100 people going through this process. So.
What you can do is anytime that you're watching this, there's a section down below on this page where you can enter in questions. I'm going to try and keep it open.
While I'm around here teaching you everything that I can about Amazon. But what you can do is there's a section below that just says, say something. If you just type here, I'll type something here. This is the section. Ask me questions.
Either way, if I can type correctly.
So if you just put in a question down below, I will see that it's there on this page and I'll do my best to get to all of them. There were a bunch of questions on the original webinar page that unfortunately crashed. So I'm sorry about that. I'm sorry about the errors on there. I don't know what's going on with the site this week. We got hacked this week. The server has been cracked, crashing.
And look, I'm in the middle of promoting a launch. So I'm sorry for all that's going on. But.
You guys know the story that a year and a half, two years ago, I made the decision to move out of Information Publishing and instead to move over into Amazon, into physical products. So that was a really difficult change for me. I know it's. Some of you are probably in jobs or you are in a business that you're not really happy with. I was in this exact same boat a year and a half, two years ago. And I was very resistant to make the change because I had never sold physical products before because I had never been on. I didn't know the first darn thing about being on Amazon. So that change was really, really difficult for me. But because I went through this process and I have been building a business for about a year and a half now. My business is well into the seven figures. In fact I was just on a call today. We hatched out our eight figure plan of getting to the ten million dollars a year level. Right now we're at about the three to four million dollar level we're looking at. Okay, how do we grow now to the $10 million level so we can sell this bad boy for bunch of money And I can, I can own the Cleveland Indians, which of course is my life goal as you can see on my T shirt here. So the that's and that is something that's really special about physical products. It's not impossible, but it is difficult to sell an information products business. And I got nothing against information products. I'll still have information products probably until it's not cool to have information products anymore, which is probably going to be never. I was just on a call with somebody. We're talking about creating an information product for this other business for the main products or the physical products. But having an information side of it creates another channel for us to get new customers. So information products and affiliate marketing, all this stuff are still a great way to make money to have a business. But I wanted to go build a business that was set, sellable, that was scalable and something that didn't have my face on it. And as a result I have a multimillion dollar business that is specifically on Amazon.com there are a few things that you need in order to have success on Amazon and it's pretty straightforward. You need a really great friggin product. You need to be able to have conversions on Amazon and you need to keep inventory so you can keep sales coming. Now we can go into all the advanced stuff. We can talk about having back end follow up sequences and multiple products and cross promotions and doing certain things to stimulate Amazon's algorithm. We could dive into all of that. But for those of you who are just getting started, the real thing you need to worry about is what's my product going to be and who is going to source it and how am I going to take sales. Those are the really important things as far as having an Amazon business. And as I'm saying this, it looks like the original webinar page is finally coming back online. So I'm going to be bouncing around between the two pages getting all of your questions. So forgive me if I look a little scatterbrained. So let's talk about picking a product first because.
In a way that most people don't. My first business was not the traditional. The traditional way that most people tell you to pick a product. I did something very different than what most people do. I instead.
Instead of.
Forgive me, I'm checking the other webinar page to make sure it's working. All right, cool. So both webinar pages are live now, which is good. Looks like we fixed the error. Okay, so if you want to. If you want to go over to the original webinar page, that's fine. Either one will work. But let's talk about picking a product, because I did something very different. And I think that made a big difference in my business, was I didn't look at what was hot on Amazon per se. I looked at mass media. I looked at what were the products that were being advertised in mass media. Where do I see TV ads? Where do I see ads around the Internet? Where do I see really big markets on the Internet? And how can I serve that market so that I know that there's going to be a channel on Amazon? I know people are going to go to Amazon to buy those products, but I'm not looking where every other person on Amazon is looking. So to answer a question that comes up a lot is how do I pick up a product? How do I pick a product that is not necessarily going to be in competition with a whole bunch of other people? I look at really big markets, and I think, okay, is this something that somebody is going to go over to Amazon and then purchase? And what we did was create the best products in that market so that when people were looking on Amazon for those products, they would find us. And that has made a big difference. Now there's plenty of people who just find what's hot on Amazon and sell that, and that is perfectly fine. I did things a little bit differently, and I think that made a really, really big difference in our business. The second thing was.
A lot of people will white label a product, which is fine. That's how we started, too. Started by white labeling something, just taking what the manufacturer had on hand, putting your own label on it and selling on Amazon. I think that's fine. But I think you'll do a lot better if you think, how can I improve this product from where it is now to something even greater? And it could be as much. It could be something. If you're selling a consumable, it could be more of the product. If it is like my yoga mats, it would be, how can we make this yoga mat a little bit different than everybody else so that we're not selling the same thing as everybody else. We're selling something a little bit different from everybody else. How can we do that so that it's, it's a better product than what most of the people are putting out there? So if you ask yourself the question, how can I improve upon what's already in the marketplace? And you can find this out just by talking to your manufacturers. You just talk to the people who are supplying the product and ask them what's hot right now? What can we do differently with our product? What other options do you have? And if you focus on those, you can produce a product that's very unique in the marketplace, that's different from what everybody else is doing. And that answers a lot of questions about competition, about standing out in the marketplace. And holy Moses, there are a ton of questions coming in. I will do my best to get to as many of them as possible. And they're coming in on both webinar pages. So please forgive me if I get to your questions slowly. Okay, so question comes up about, okay, how do I find a manufacturer? Google is your friend. There are tons and tons and tons of manufacturers out there that are on Google, that are on worldwide brands, that are on Alibaba.com. there are a bunch of wholesale suppliers out there. If you just search for yoga mat wholesale supplier, you'll find enough, both US based and overseas and to keep you busy for quite a while. A really good product would be something that is easy to ship. Excuse me, easy to ship and light. So small products do really well. Supplements do well. Accessories do really well. Kitchen items do really well. Anything consumable tends to do really well.
I have yoga products which are actually a real pain in the rear to ship, but we do them anyway. Yoga blocks and towels are a little bit easier, but yoga mats are a pain in the backside to ship. Had I known that, I might have done things a little bit differently. Still a great market, but we bit off more than we could chew with yoga mats.
You know what makes up a good product. We've talked about this at length. Not in this training, but not only in our training, but in Matt and Jason's training. We've talked about what makes a product unique and how to differentiate yourself from the rest of the competition. Let's talk a little bit about sales. Let's talk a little bit about how to take sales on Amazon. Once you have your product on a boat somewhere or a plane somewhere or on a truck somewhere heading over to Amazon, what you do next Is you create your listing on Amazon. And this is just standard sales 101. What is going to entice someone to purchase your product when you put it on Amazon? And it's a good headline, a good bullets, good images, good copy. That's really what it comes down to. Because conversions play such a big role in where Amazon ranks you. And that is really the 8020 of this business. The 8020 being that 20% of your efforts are going to make up 80% of your results. And that really comes from where you rank for keywords, which is made up of sales and conversions. So that listing, your pictures, your description and your title all play a big role in your success as a business on Amazon. But there's other things that you could do too, in order to really stimulate sales on Amazon, especially things like building up a list or going, going to Facebook and advertising your product in order to stimulate sales. Because if you can stimulate sales, you start to feed Amazon's algorithm with everything that it wants in order to rank you higher. So the more sales that you give Amazon, the higher they will rank you on an Amazon search. So there's all kinds of things that we talk about in the tribe. We talk about ways that you can stimulate sales. We talk about using each other's lists and each other's exposure in order to stimulate sales and get higher up in the search ranks. And we have all kinds of cool strategies that we do for this. And that is what makes the success of the tribe so rampant and also what makes such a difference in people's businesses, because they have places that they can go and in order to start to get sales and ranking and stuff like that.
We'Ve talked at length about the business model. You guys have seen the videos from Matt and Jason. Hopefully, if you haven't, click the link that says join the tribe on the page, on the webinar page. Or you can just go to freedomfastlane.com asm and you can watch the free video series right now. And so what I want to transition into now is talking about amazing selling Machine. I want to talk about the tribe and I want to talk about what all that looks like. I'm running the tribe this last time. As of right now, this is the last time that I plan on doing the tribe. At least how we've been doing it. The way that we've been doing it is we have a Facebook group, we have Google hangouts like this one. We where we meet every week and we go through the training together. And when we go through the training together, we're answering questions, we are talking about secrets that only, only we've learned as a result of building multimillion dollar businesses on Amazon. And you're getting kind of a bird's eye view from, hey, this is me a year and a half from now. This is what you should be doing at this stage in your business that I wish I had known. So you're actually getting one on one mentoring with myself and several other people have been extremely successful on Amazon over the years. You'll meet my business partners, you will meet my contacts, you'll meet other successful tribe members and we do it through this Google hangout medium as you're going through amazing selling machine together. Now. The reason why this is the last time I'm doing it this way is because I am moving the tribe from a beginner's platform to, to a much more advanced platform. So what, the tribe has always been there in order to foster new entrepreneurs and bring them into really, really successful businesses. Because I want to serve that market. I want to serve people who are already having really successful businesses. So this is the chance to start a business, bring it into the really successful category and then we can continue working on your business further. But this is the last time. At least that's my plan right now. Maybe things will be different or we'll do something a little bit different the next time if this ever launches again, which personally I hope that they don't and they're good friends of mine and they know that's my feeling. A lot of people are encouraging them not to launch this again, but the tribe will serve a new group of entrepreneurs for this last time. And then it changes where we're moving everybody successful into the really intimate mastermind, which is an in person mastermind. People are already paying to be in this mastermind. In fact, they're flying to Austin, Texas at the end of the month in order to meet for our first meeting. And that is going to be what the tribe becomes. This intimate group of really successful businesses, physical products businesses. And we're really helping each other. We're all at the million dollar level and that is going to be what the tribe moves into. But for now it's, we're still mentoring a new group of people into that successful mindset, that successful level so that you can come and be part of the more intimate tribe. So that is what the tribe is. It is, it is mentoring through amazing selling machine to the point where you are done with the course so you have the support group around you can start building your business, growing your business. And a year from now we can talk about moving you into the intimate group, the mastermind, where we are really, really growing each other's businesses and taking you from the hundred thousand dollar level to the million dollar level. Now I know some of you are going, I can't Even imagine selling $100,000 a month. And I'm telling you that I even had a hard time imagining myself selling $100,000 a month a year ago. And now I sell a quarter million dollars a month and beyond. We're actually well beyond that now. But that, that blows my mind. That has happened in one year and I'm telling you that that is the reality for a lot of people in this type of a business. But this window of opportunity is closing. This window of opportunity of being able to take advantage of this wide open west on Amazon and get businesses built and branded. That window of opportunity is closing. And in about September of 2015, I predict it's gonna be a lot harder for new businesses to come in. It won't be impossible, but it'll be a lot, a lot more difficult for new businesses to start. Get ranked on Amazon, get a lot of reviews. It'll be a much more, you'll be playing against much bigger players. So as a result, it'll be harder to have businesses that are starting from ground zero. So that, that's part of the reason why this is the last time we're taking this new group of entrepreneurs to the tribe. Because I believe that this is the last time it's going to be really easy for people to build businesses and then it's going to, then it's going to be more difficult. A question from Eric just showed up on the chat box. It says, why do I say that the wild west will end six to eight months from now? Do I have inside info? No, I don't have inside info. This is just timing. Because a lot of people who are starting businesses now are going to be maturing their businesses in the next eight to 12 months. That puts us at about September of 2015. So the people who are really savvy, the people who come through the tribe, the people who have really good support networks around them, the people who are building businesses the right way way are going to be successful in owning the markets in about September of 2015. That's when businesses will be maturing and really successful on Amazon. And you're going to have the five to 10 people in every market who own that market. And since you have really savvy people owning the top spots in every market. It's going to be harder for someone new to come in and try to take over that channel. It's going to be a lot more difficult because there's going to be people like tribe members who own all of that market share. So the way that people are going to have to compete is going to be through creating new products, new inventions, launching new products. And I think you're going to see more of a trend, I bet, in a year from now. We're talking about how to build unique types of businesses and invent new products and launch them on Amazon. I bet you that is where our conversation goes about a year from now. There's my prediction. So amazing selling machine launches tomorrow. I think it opens at noon Eastern time tomorrow. Thursday, October 16th. Right? October 16th is when it opens. And all you need to do to get access to the tribe is use my affiliate link. So you use my affiliate Link, which is freedomfastlane.com ASM and when you go there, you'll just order the product. I'll see that you bought through me and I'll add you into the tribe. I'll do an email intro, you'll be brought into the Facebook group, and then we'll hop on our first Google hangout after the first module. So you and I will be interacting directly. We'll meet literally face to face via the power of the Internet. And then we'll shake hands in person at the live event, which will be in Vegas in February. February. Pretty exciting. So we've got unbelievable success stories. There's people who have done. There's people who have done $100,000 a month in the tribe. There's people have done $500,000 a month in the tribe. There's people who have done a quarter million dollars a month in the tribe. And there's people that have done, you know, that are still at like the 25 and $50,000 a month level in the tribe. And their businesses are growing really, really quickly. A question from Landon, and this comes up all the time. If you're already an asmr, can you join the tribe? And I'm always really hesitant to say yes because this is really for new entrepreneurs.
I can't undo bad decisions that have been made in businesses. So for people who have not gone through the tribe and have built the business the wrong way, it's hard for me to fix that. It's hard for me to do that. But if you want to be in, yes, you can just PayPal me the cost of the affiliate commission. You can email me on Facebook at ryan Daniel Moran facebook.com RyanDaniel Moran and we can talk about it. I tend to shy away from allowing current asmers into the tribe, but I have allowed it in some cases. Okay, question. How much is the product? Amazing selling machine last year was $3,500. It's probably gonna be the same this time around, but we'll find out tomorrow when everything goes live at noon. Okay, so let me. My goodness, there are a lot of questions so I will do my best to get to some of them here. Question from Richard. Great question. Is there a massive company dominating if there is a massive company dominating the products that I'm looking at, should that put me off? Richard it depends on the market that you're going into. If there's one company that's dominating, that wouldn't scare me. If there's a lot of companies dominating or if it's a brand driven market like Apple Chargers, I would not want to sell these Apple Chargers. I'm on a Mac right now. You would not want to sell brand driven products. But if there's one company that's owning the market and the rest aren't doing so well, I wouldn't, that wouldn't scare me. Unless of course I was the person dominating the market. And then you would want to be very, very afraid. But no, I wouldn't be afraid of one person dominating the market if I thought that I could do things better than that person is currently doing. Can I get reviews faster? And we talk about that in the tribe. Can you create a better product? Is your marketing better? Are there ways that you can differentiate yourself from the guy who's number one? And if that's the case, then I would have no problem going into that market.
A great question that says as far as product relabeling, even though it's my own label, I don't understand how I can sell it for too much since the same kind of product is available for cheaper. Fantastic question. And the answer is you can charge however much you want or however much the market will give you. If you're afraid that people will see you as a same old product.
How do I explain this?
Branding, packaging and marketing go a long way in determining how much you can charge for product. So even if you're selling the same thing that somebody else is selling, if your marketing is better, if your product images are better, if your branding is better, you can charge higher prices. Simple as that. Now with that in mind, it's best of course it's best, of course, to make your product better than what everybody else is doing. So if you have a product that is better, better than what they have, than what everybody else has, you can charge more money even if it's just a little bit better. Make yourself the most expensive and highest quality product in the marketplace. I have somebody in the tribe who's in a market where the average person sells their product for $25 to $30. They sell theirs for 90. The only thing that's different is the product is a little bit better. They have a very defined market. It's for people who are really passionate about this topic, so their product is a little bit better, but they sell a whole lot for a whole lot more money because their marketing is better, their branding is better, their product is better and their image is better. So that is how you can sell your products for more money than what everybody else is doing.
Question from Ms. Mona. How do you keep your ranking up after your promotion goes viral? What if it drops? What should I do? This has happened many, many times to our businesses where we have a drop in the rankings and what we do then is we get really good at stimulating sales in order to get that ranking back up. And that comes from conversions and it comes from sales. So we might do a promotion to our customer list, we might do a giveaway to friends and family, we might do a promotion on Facebook to a coupon code. There's lots of different ways that you can stimulate sales, but but if you see a drop in ranking, it just goes back to basics. You get good at your conversions, you get good at your sales and if you do those two things better than everyone else, you will win on Amazon. Question from Spencer. What's your current launch strategy? Still a dollar coupon. Here is how you'd launch if you were launching this week. Yeah, I would still do that process. It comes down to a few things. First, I go after my friends and family who I can bug to death to leave reviews. So I have a nucleus of 25 to 50 reviews. That's the first part. The second part is then to do a launch on Facebook in order to stimulate sales and get reviews flowing. The third thing is to promote on sponsored ads and getting regular cold traffic to my listing. So I have my nucleus of reviews. I have sales and reviews coming in from the promotion that I did and I have cold traffic coming from Amazon's internal system. That triad, that three part system is how you get a new product going and moving on Amazon. Then you can Think about other things. Everything else is nice. We can talk about other things, but those are the three things that you need to do in order to get a product moving.
Question from Lauren. Do I have to have a business formed like an LLC or corporation before I start on fba? Not necessarily. My girlfriend has her cat scratchers. She doesn't have any sort of business structure right now because it's not at the level yet where it makes sense to do that. I'm obviously not an expert on tax law and.
Legal stuff with business, so please don't take my advice over somebody who's qualified to give you that advice. But no, you don't have to. I started with one because I knew I was going to blow up my business and if it's your first business, it might be a good idea. But there's people who do it on the side before they get into, I guess they form a legal business out of it.
Devin, is this just about my brand or marketing? I don't understand your question. Sorry.
Okay, question that says let's assume that I'm going to sell phone cases for a popular cell phone. Is it okay if I put a Samsung logo on my case? I put my own logo on the package? No. Is it going to be a problem with customs clearance through the brand name? Yes. You do not want to put somebody else's brand on your product. That would be a quick, quick, a quick road to getting shut down.
For members of the tribe. Will you be able to help vet and evaluate our product ideas? You bet. For example, what product is and what improvements you're thinking of adding to differentiate the product? Absolutely. If you're comfortable sharing the product that you are thinking about going into, more than happy to look at what that is, evaluate it and decide together if it's a good thing that you should go into. Is there a fee to join the tribe and who can join? No, there's not a fee to join the tribe. You just have to be an amazing selling machine member. Use my link to join, which is freedomfastlane.com asm. I get an affiliate commission for it. You get access to the tribe for free.
Danny says, I already have a white label product in the works. It'll be on Amazon within about two weeks. Can someone like me join the tribe without joining asm? Sadly, no. You need to be an ASM member to join the tribe because. Because so much of the training is about ASM and goes through ASM that it really wouldn't make sense for you to join if you were not an ASM member. Plus you would miss the live event, which a lot of fun happens there.
Max says. Ryan, have you seen any evidence of consolidation happening in the space in the form of companies buying out sellers with successful products? I know it's a big no no in terms of Amazon terms and service, but is it happening in practice time? Yes, it's starting to happen in practice. I have actually been in touch with companies who are starting to do exactly what you're saying, and I had a conversation with a company where I was talking about this consolidation and we said we plan to facilitate this consolidation because we're going to be buying out sellers. Exactly what you're talking about, Max. So that's actually good news for people who are in the tribe because I have connections with companies who are looking to buy out Amazon sellers, like buy their businesses and.
You can sell your business. And that's something that I'm talking with another business about getting them involved with the tribe and allowing them to buy people's businesses. For people who are building successful brands in the tribe, they're excited about it. I'm excited to offer that opportunity to the tribe. So the idea of building a business and selling it to someone is attractive to you and having a nice exit selling your business. That's something that we talk about within the tribe, that we have access to within the tribe. Hey, Joe Gianfola is with us. What's up, buddy?
Aaron Novak asks, do you use Feedback5 for reviews or is there something better out there? We actually do use Feedback5, but we use some other tools as well. We follow up with them via email. We call our customers to make sure they're happy. We basically do everything we can to make sure our customers are extremely happy. And in doing so, we get a lot of reviews. Naturally, that's really the best way. Vladimir asks. I have a product and a supplier. Nice work. I received a sample of the product and I like the quality. I'm ready to go with my purchase. I have a different pattern than the one the supplier gave me. Should I get a sample of my pattern prior to paying the down payment, or should I trust that it'll be exactly like the proof you supplied me? I would recommend that you get a sample of your final product before you go live on Amazon. Otherwise, you're going to be paying for, you know, a thousand units of something and you're not even sure if they're good. So I would recommend paying for your prototype before you get that rolling.
Use different LLCs and the answer is yes, I have a different LLC for each of my businesses. So my partnership with Sean on the yoga mats is different than my supplement company or different than my men's fitness company, or different from.
The business where I sell information products. They're very different from each other.
Okay, so I just answered all the questions on one of the pages.
And I'll move over to the other webinar that is now apparently working. Again, thank you to those of you who stuck with me during the kind of technical errors that were going on with the webinar when we started.
Okay, a question from someone that said, any word on digital products and how to find them comparing to phone cases? I have no idea what that means. Sorry to biff your question, but I have no idea what that means. Inventing product ideas. Can we share those ideas with you privately? Sure. More than welcome to do that.
Do I need to consider any Amazon regulations if I'm selling something like a beauty product? I'm currently getting a product microbiological tested. Can they still reject it? So the way that this works, there are certain categories in Amazon that they vet your product. They make sure that you're legitimate. All you need to do is submit a receipt that says I'm selling this product. And you have to submit like a proof of authenticity. It's not that difficult. People do it all the time and get approved in supplements and beauty, which is where the crackdown, if you will, has gotten has started to happen. It just means you have to show proof of business and that you have a real product. It's not that difficult to.
Get around. You talk about how you aggressively marketed with paid advertising, of what type of budget would be needed to aggressively advertise with ads these days? A few hundred to a thousand dollars. So you use Amazon pay per click, you use Facebook pay per click. And that will get you started and get sales and reviews coming in. So a few hundred to about a thousand dollars, if you wanted to be super aggressive. Thousand dollars. About a few hundred bucks will be enough to advertise your product to get it started.
Does the Amazon refund quote affect traffic and sales of the product? Do not understand your question.
How do you recommend going up to grow community? I've talked about this at length in both of my presentations at Amazing Selling Machine. If you go to YouTube and type in Ryan Moran Amazing Selling Machine, you'll find where I talk about exactly that, about building a community.
What shipping method do you prefer from Alibaba? We use dhl. I think. I think DHL is the one who does all of our shipping.
Can we join as partners on here and buy ASM and get into the tribe? Of course you can. Oh, as partners? Yeah, if you have a partner, you can add them into the tribe.
So, yeah, people have done that before and I don't have a problem with that.
Okay, so. Oh, good. Here's a good question. Why don't all of your Amazon businesses do $100,000 a month? What's wrong if. What's wrong if all that, you know, doesn't do the trick? Well, there's a great question.
Here's my answer. There's different investment amounts in each of those businesses. Different things that we've tested in each of those business have worked. So all my businesses are growing, thankfully, and all of them are kind of over the hump now. They're getting really, really profitable. And we're about to get, you know, profitable paychecks from each of them. But, you know, one of my businesses does about a quarter million dollars a month, and the others can do between 15,000 and 30,000amonth. Why are they so much smaller? It's a fantastic question. This is a compounding business. Very, very much a compounding business. The more that you can reinvest into this business you will be, the longer you can wait to take a paycheck, the, the better off you will be because there's things like inventory and there's other products and two have that flexibility. So where my primary business, we built it up for a year, knocked it out of the park, and then we started paying ourselves. And that business is six months older than those other two businesses which are just starting to get to the point where they're growing really quickly. So that's the, that's the answer to that, where if the longer you can delay taking money out of the business, the more successful you will be.
A year before your business is not always the case. If you're a rock star like Joe Gianfolo, who's watching, he can stimulate just about anything. That sounded dirty, and that's not how I meant it. But he can grow just about anything to a level where he just aggressively reinvests money, aggressively puts things back into the business, and as a result.
He has these businesses that are sitting really pretty as a result of what he's done in the business. So different approaches, different amounts of investment, and different aggressiveness has resulted in the different sizes of the business. Question, can you pay for amazing selling machine in payments? Yes, they usually do have a payment plan.
I'm guessing they have one Again, this time, what is the success rate for tribe members? Assuming the person isn't dumb or lazy. So it's always difficult for me to estimate how many people are really successful, what defines success. But I'll tell you this, the success rate is really, really high and it's higher in the tribe than it is in.
Just like the general group because there's this mentorship, because there's this connection because we're going through the process together and there's accountability in that process.
So.
The success rate of tribe members is very high and it's much higher than kind of your average person who goes through asm. Question that came right before that is are there any tribe members who haven't made money? The answer is yes, there are some people who haven't made money and they're usually people who picked bad products, who picked products that were didn't have demand or weren't a real business or were kind of one off products, which is not something that I recommend. But some people do it anyway. And those are the people who don't see success on Amazon. If you machine you want to join the tribe. I'm sorry, the tribe is just for people who are in amazing selling machine.
So people asking about who fails, who doesn't make it in the product. And again those are the people who don't follow the advice.
I'm sorry, I'm getting a. Got a fun text. Thank you for that my friend. I won't call you out.
Sorry, somebody was a friend of mine is on this webinar right now and said I think it's a little bit stupid that some people think that $30,000 a month isn't a life changing type of business. Which is absolutely true. You know, at 50% profit margins, which is usually where this business is, this is where all my business profit margins. You're doing $30,000 a month in sales. You have a full time six figure income, not just a six figure business but a six figure income for yourself. After you have got all your inventory, you have rolled out multiple products so you don't have to hit the hundred thousand dollar level or the $250,000 level in order to have a full time business. You can have a smaller business and do just fine. But again, there's lots of questions actually coming in that say, you know, what about people who fail? There are people who fail, but there are people who. This is the big. Alright, here's your answer. The people who fail are people who go after products, not businesses. The real secret.
Is to Stop to stop looking at loopholes and to build a real business. To say, what's a business? That I can roll out three products, five products in time, not, oh, this is one product that'll sell. All those are the people who fail. The people who have one product and they're like, I'm going all in on this one product. That's not the approach. The approach is, what can I build a business around? What is my target market? Who's the demographic that I'm serving? And what will they want to buy after they buy product number one. And if you can answer that question, then you're going into a business. But the people who, people who say, I'm looking for the perfect product and I want to sell just this one product, that's not a business. Those are the people who don't do well in this market, in this type of a business. People who are going after products, not businesses. Question. Can someone who has no background in selling and Internet marketing succeed with this business in a reasonable amount of time? Let me tell you a story. And for any of you who are in the tribe or who are in this business, want to comment in this chat? I'd love for you to share your success stories in either of the chat boxes, either on the Google Hangout page or on the webinar page. Let me tell you a story about my buddy. His name is Matt Balzar. Matt's a guy in tribe who joined. I mean, I'm a truck driver. I have no idea how to outsource. I have no idea how to build a website. I don't know nothing. I saw Matt a sewing machine event and he was well past the $25,000 a month mark. He was actually within a few months, he was projecting that by January he was going to be at the $50,000 a month mark. Just quit his job and is now full time on Amazon selling his line of products. And he has a great line of products that don't have a lot of competition. He did his market research. He, he simply followed the steps, built a real business and as a result quit his job as a truck driver. And now he has a better income than what he had as a truck driver. Just got married. I'm just so proud of the guy, like, so ridiculously proud of the guy. He has done coming from being like, look, man, I've done this and I have no idea what I'm doing. Can I still succeed? And he went through the process. He got bumps and bruises along the way. But at the end of the Day he was successful.
Do we get help choosing products? Yes, sometimes I give examples of products inside of the tribe. You can try. You can earn ideas by me personally. Yes, you get plenty of help in choosing products when you're a member of the tribe.
As you already know, the tribe and ama's design machine open tomorrow around this time Thursday at about noon Eastern. It might be one Eastern, but around that time, as soon as you use my Link, which is freedomfastlane.com ASM, you get access to the tribe for free.
People are saying they really love Joe's interview on the podcast. I agree. By the way, what a, what a challenging week for Freedom Fasting. We got hacked. Hacked to the podcast went down so we lost all our positive rankings in the iTunes store. The website is going through challenges, so we're doing a little bit of a server upgrade at the moment.
So thank you for your patience in me with the podcast and with the webinar issues. It's been a little bit exhausting. People do anything to get ahead, including hack somebody else's website.
Daniel asks, you shared a lot of stuff today. Is there anything else for your new tribe members? Yeah, there's plenty. And there's more learning things all the time. These businesses are always growing. We learn new things. And how cool would it be for you to be able to sit down with me and say, hey, if I was in your shoes a year ago, here's what I would do differently.
I was told that calling customers is invasive and intrusive. I was calling them. They do.
But actually impressed that I took time to call. Is there a best time to call Ms. Mona? That's exactly the experience that we have when we call our customers. They seem really appreciative. We checked in on them. Is there a best time to call? Usually late afternoon, early evening?
I understand the program is eight weeks. I want to join, but I'm free after January. Do you know if I pay now, can I lock the eight weeks somehow to learn later or do I have to do it within the eight week set? You can go through the product whenever you want once you're a member and as often as you're as you want once you are a member of Amazing Selling Machine.
How do I know if my differentiated product will generate sales? Any way to test the market before I order a thousand units? Funny story about that. My first order of products was a hundred units at six bucks a unit, so my total investment was six hundred dollars. I wish I'd been more aggressive because I sold really well. But yeah, you can order a small amount of product to see if it's going to sell. And once you've tested the market, you can go and order more. If that's the route that you want to go, if you want to be more conservative with it. I have private label products. September was my greatest month so far with 8 to 12 average sales per day. Cool. But I had a swarm of negative reviews. They were subsequently removed by Amazon, but sales are down now. What can I do to refire my sales? What you can do boss, is you can bury those reviews with a lot of positive reviews. Reach out to your customers, tell them you got harshly criticized. You'd love for them to share your experience. So go to your customers, get them to leave more positive reviews, bury the negative ones and also do a giveaway to existing customers to get sales moving again. How do you decide on what products to invest? Are you intimidated by a large number of competitors? Not really. Or does it actually persuade you to go for it? If so, what are the indicators for you to use a certain product?
Look, I'm sorry to sound like a broken record, but I look more after a market than I do after a product. So if something has a rap, more likely to go into that market. If it's okay with you guys, I'm going to sit down. I've been standing for an hour and now I want to sit. And I'm also getting hungry so I might eat in front of all of you. Scorn me or judge me.
Okay, cool. You guys can still see me. So I look more after a market than I do just a product. How I'm evaluating something, but I will. The greatest.
Is if.
Brand driven products, if people are. If it's. If Apple owns something, I won't go into it. This is why I say no to the question of can I put Samsung on my logo? No. You don't want Samsung breathing down your neck. Are you kidding me? You can't deal with that. Alright. You can't compete with Samsung. So no, I don't go after brand driven products, but competition doesn't really scare me.
Where do you find your customers phone numbers? I find them inside of your Amazon account. They give them to you readily.
I think I just caught up to all the questions. Wow. But there's a few more that have come in of course from about taxes. What about sales taxes? Haven't heard a single ASMR talk about sales tax. Yeah, there is some confusion over this one. We currently pay our income tax but we don't pay a sales tax. And we'll find out what the government has to say about that when it adjusts. But I would be worried about sales tax right now, be worrying about taking sales and making your bill and then we'll worry about sales tax. But as of right now, it's a bit of a question that not a lot of people know the answer to, including myself. If you're already an asmr, yes, you can. Sometimes you can join the tribe. I try to lean away from this, but if you send me a message on facebook@facebook.com Ryandaniel Moran we can talk about it.
What is the realistic upfront investment before breaking even? Look, reserve a few thousand dollars for inventory and advertising. We built our first business with an order of 100 units bucks apiece and that was $600. Big math there. Then we invested a little bit more money for advertising and hired a virtual assistant. So a few thousand dollars will get you started. But with that in mind, the more that you can invest up front, the more successful and the faster you will be.
Liz, what's up, girl? She says the tribe is limited to 100. So the first hundred to buy through you. Yes. How quick do you think it will sell out? I don't know, to be honest with you. Last year it sold out on the day of closing. That's probably what's going to happen again.
Because there's always tire kickers up front who are like, I'm not sure I want to be in. I got to talk to my half of them, sell out within the first few days, then there's staggering and then it closes and that's when it fills up. So I mean, if I had to be honest, I'd say probably on the last day. That's how I think it'll probably fill up. Question, Ryan. If I know nothing about SEO, is it best to outsource my sales copy? I don't quite follow because SEO doesn't have anything to do with sales copy. You don't need to know anything about SEO. I've been out of the SEO game for quite a long time now. There are people who utilize SEO in their business and do really well with it. I'm not one of those people.
If I start with a private label. Hi Liz. If I start with a private label and then want to change a formula of a supplement, do I need to start a new listing or just change the supplement facts and pictures? Just change the supplement facts and pictures.
Can you go over to how to structure a partnership in this Amazon business in terms of profit sharing? Task splitting. Are you doing equal partnerships? I do equal partnerships with that in mind. My partnerships, both of us are implementing as well now. We have very defined roles in our businesses. That's how they've been successful. But if.
Investing in your business, we should talk about that. We should talk about getting investors for your business. Especially for.
People who think that $3,500 is a lot of money for a course, which I understand. But at the same time, this is a business that has served a whole lot of people.
Hey Matt, thanks for your text. I'm not sure what. Go for it. The. What was I saying? Investors. I was saying something before that too. Oh, partnerships. Right. So if you have somebody who's just investing in your business than 50% you.
There. I have a podcast on freedomfastlane.com commend that you listen to that. But just somebody bringing cash to the business doesn't mean that it's worth half. Somebody bringing an idea to a business doesn't mean it's worth half. It's really a negotiation process. I've brought just cash to the table and gotten 50% before.
It is a negotiation between you and your partner. Let's talk about investors though.
If you put together a plan for a business.
And go to someone, look, if someone were to approach me with a good business plan and say, I need $5,000 to get this business started and I will give you 30% of the very.
I have a process that I like inside of the 10 day, 10 days success challenge. The 10 days of success. If you talk about your success network.
In your success network, there are people who probably buy businesses and invest in businesses. If you go to them and say, hey, look, I've got this business plan, this business idea and it's going to cost $10,000 to roll this out the way that I want to. And I predict that it's making this amount of money in 12 months, hard to estimate that. But your goal is this. That's an attractive investment for a lot of people. So if you go to your success network and propose the idea of you doing all the work and then putting up the money and it being a set amount of money, meaning not. Not. You don't say, well, you'll fund this and I'll do the work. You say it's $10,000 for 35% of that is very compelling. It becomes much more compelling if you have a prototype of the business ready. If you are just coming with an idea, it's a lot harder to get that business funded. But if you go to your market. I'm sorry, to your success network and you've got a sample of something. If I show up with a yoga mat and I'm like, hey, this is my yoga mat, you can hold it, you can play with it. We've already got them in production and we've got them ready on Amazon. We just need more inventory and I don't have the cash for it. Are you interested in investing in this business that is incredibly attractive. So if you are at that stage in the game, it's actually pretty something like that.
And for with that funding, you can join asm, you can join the tribe, you can order more inventory, you can do more advertising, you can do more whatever you want with it. It's your money at that.
Mitch. Hey, Ryan, what about patented designs? I have some experience here. Can you sell a product that has a patented design like a yoga mat or a dress or a hat? Can you really patent such things? Yes. Maybe the examples are not that good, but I know for your example.
Jeans have a patented design. You're looking at my jeans. These aren't Levi's jeans. And you can label.
Yes, you are absolutely right. We are yoga towels. Our yoga towels, the ones that we wanted to roll out, violated a patent and that patent was the design of the non slip pattern. So we said, okay, since it's designed, the design is what the patent's on. Let's come up with a different design. So we came up with a different design for our non slip material and we created a new non slip towel that just had a different design on it and that's all we did. What was a patent wasn't the fact that it was a non slip towel, it was the actual design of the material on the back. So we just said, okay, screw it, we'll get a different material on there. And we just worked with our supplier and that supplier was able to make recommendations for what to do instead.
Ryan of Canada. Hey Ryan, how can you ship oversized products faster like your yoga mat? What logistics company did you use? We had a. Oh my goodness. I don't know anything about, about the shipping process. All this inside of the tribe can tell you the exact companies that we use, but basically we hired a company to do the entire shipping process and they took care of all the oversized products and actually took them to Amazon.
I'm losing my voice already. Good grief. I haven't talked this much in a while. I have a girlfriend now, she does all the talking. I'm in Germany and want to sell in the us. I Heard about a company whose business it is to receive product shipments from overseas, do quality control and pass it on to Amazon, ensuring all is well. Do you know about this? No, I don't know about that company but I know plenty of people who live in the in the European Union who sell and do really well on Amazon. Some of them.
Some of them just.
Have like they just sell within the UK or they just sell within the eu. So the.
You don't on Amazon US you can can sell on any of the on any of them that you want. Sorry, I'm actually I'm looking at my hangout right now which is on the delay and it's kind of funny watching myself in the past. I'm so old and mature now compared to the 30 seconds ago that I'm watching on Google Hangouts.
So plenty of people sell within their own countries and don't just sell on.
Amazon US.
Refreshing all your questions.
Eric asks if I get 25 reviews from friends and family on my first product and roll out number two months later, is Amazon going to notice that they're the same people and likely to remove the reviews? I've seen this happen but it's pretty rare and when it does happen they remove a couple of reviews and not most of them. So I've seen it happen but overall it's pretty rare that reviews get removed.
If I don't have many contacts who can give me the nucleus of reviews. Is it still possible to get reviews? Just the normal sales? Absolutely. But who doesn't know 25 people?
Go to your neighbor, your mailman, your priest.
If all products and stories don't do that, should we use two different seller accounts?
Don't do that. Don't sell products in different categories. Sell products that feed a business. This is a business, not a product. You're going after products that feed one another, not detract from one another.
I'm from Europe and would like to sell on Amazon. Are there any special issues? Can I get support in the tribe? You get support in the tribe. I unfortunately don't know about living overseas.
But there are plenty of people amazing sewing machine who do that. I know there's some different rules. I'm not sure what they are but I know plenty of people do it and they do it successfully.
Ranking. We look at the main category or the subcategory? Both.
Ryan, I really don't know much about online marketing or SEO. Do you think people with an SEO background have a better chance succeed? No. How much of a difference is having a successful YouTube channel can make. If you're selling products that are directly in proportion with your YouTube channel, and your YouTube channel is successful, by all means you have an advantage. Look, SEO and Facebook marketing are all just getting an audience. If you can get an audience to a list of products, that is where your success comes from. So if you can get an audience to buy your product, you're ahead of the game no matter what. Whether it's in SEO, whether it is.
From YouTube or your own list. If it is, if you have a responsive audience that will buy their products, you're ahead of the game.
By adding a small price. Does that do better than simply giving it away for free? Yes. Do you think that will help with the algorithm? Better than just for free? Yes.
Hey Ryan, will you provide more specifics about the tribe? How long is the tribe for? Yeah, so the tribe is there. The actual mentorship like the weekly phone calls go throughout the eight weeks of asm after they're in the tribe forever. So you could come to all the.
The meetings. You have access to the Facebook group. The every week until the live event and then the live event. We get together, we have food, we sit together at the. At the meetings. We cause a lot of noise and ruckus and people get really annoyed with us. We wear matching T shirts. We have our matching journals. We do. We were the annoying group asm. We're the loud group at asm. So we were together with all this stuff forever. But the actual Google hangouts are through the actual course.
Thanks, Matt. I love that you're texting me while watching the webinar.
Cool. Yeah, Matt, we should talk to that guy.
Matt and I are talking about all of you watching the webinar. Some of you have caught our attention. Is really smart. You should join the tribe.
Rafi asks on the ASM event that you're first laying down the product. Since you mentioned you are after markets and not products, what does this mean you launch. Does this mean you launch the bulk of your products all at once? No, we launch one at a time. But I would never go into a market that couldn't hold multiple products. I launched one at a time, but I want to know that I'm going to be able to launch multiple products in a market before going into that market. I would never go into a market that I couldn't launch multiple products. I think that would be really silly.
Does a higher refund rate have a bad effect on your Amazon product? On where you rank in Amazon? No idea, but probably.
Hate to beat a dead horse. Here, but I have looked on the customer order details page and I can't find where the customer telephone numbers are. Contact. You might need to get your account in order to get access to the phone numbers.
Assuming the product is not successful, at what point do you decide to stop pursuing that product and for other opportunities? Once you have 50 reviews, if you're not selling regularly, it might be time to look at something else. Hey Ryan, Eric go here. Excuse me, my voice. My question is my wife and I are in business together already. Would it be more beneficial if we both do ASM or just one taking into account the cost? Eric, if you are living with.
Access ASM because you probably share the same computer so I'm not sure what you mean. You don't both need to buy ASM.
Business together. If I misunderstood your question.
Derrison, please kindly answer my question.
Question from Joe no, I'm kidding Derrison. I'm currently living in Ghana and would like to sell on Amazon US but I have no US bank account. So please how do I sign up for this opportunity? You can either sign up. You can get a US mailing address through something like Earth Class mail, get a partner in the us you do the work, use their address.
Question from Joe I'm a little confused in the tribe what signed up on asm, but I'm not sure what I need to buy. When you buy ASM which goes live tomorrow afternoon and you use my affiliate link which is freedomfastlane.com ASM, I'll see that you join to my link and you get added to my tribe. You get added to my group.
From Megan. I'm not eligible for the tribe this time. Why? Because crazy. I'm doing pretty well with my first Amazon product in the first three months. However, I'd like to boost my sales by advanced marketing tactics. For example, I see many people on Amazon are using fly.
Using should be covering this topic such as this in your future podcast.
About talking about Amazon. My podcast? We'll probably talk about some other things in my podcast. No, I won't be sharing a lot of secrets that we talked about in the in the tribe in inside of the podcast.
Let's assume that I added my product which is a cell phone case to Amazon and cell phone cases are different colors. Do I sell each color separately and get reviews for each color? No, there are you can have different colors for the same product as a inside of easy to do you know the same color options.
Boy, I get the feeling you guys like this Amazon business idea and if that's the case. You have the opportunity to partner with me on the trial.
Afternoon. Just use my affiliate link. Freedom Fast asm. We'll do some business together.
How do you keep your Amazon businesses separate? If Amazon multiple seller accounts. They only don't like you having multiple seller accounts if you're running the same business through them all. If you have different businesses, you can, you can have multiple seller accounts, no problem.
Big thanks. By the way. I've been learning a lot from you and getting ready for this. My gratitude forever. Thank you. Appreciate it. If I partner with someone, can we both be tribe members? Yes.
Reviews from friends and family without them purchasing the product or do they have to order? No, they don't have to order, but it would be a wise thing to have them order so that they do.
Hey, Ryan, is your format for the tribe going to be different with 100 members instead of 25? Either 100 people on the Google hangouts or the hangout split up. So the hangouts are like this. There's 10, 10 or 15 people live. It's the first 10, 15 people that want to be on the hangout. And then anybody else can watch and write in their questions. And we take them similar to this, except there'll be multiple people.
Then there's, there's multiple people talk like we're interacting with each other on the call. And then there's people who can come in late or whatever and they just, they just work on the chat box. What if I really, really can't afford ASM at the moment? Then don't buy it.
How do you. Oh, I answered that one already.
How do you from friends and family, if they're not buying a product, have your friends and family members buy the product. That's how you get it.
Have you or the tribe started systematically building a collective Amazon product tester network? It's not really a good idea to do that. Amazon can catch on to that pretty quickly. So yes, some people do it, but I would not recommend doing that aggressively. I'm not flashing you guys. I'm just moving my feet.
That's better.
Forgive me. I'm sorting through all of your questions and there are quite a few of them. My goodness, you guys like this stuff.
Can I eat? I'm freaking starving and I already over an hour, but I'm really, really hungry. Yes, in the chat box.
If you're okay with me eating in front of you. Because I could really use to refuel and we're already going really long.
Doing a Google hangout where there's not interactions. So I'm in a room by myself. I'm talking to hundreds of people. It kind of feels like I'm a crazy person at the moment.
All right, more questions. Is the tribe a homage to your Cleveland Indians? Just look at my shirt. See my shirt?
That should answer your question.
What are your thoughts on not using FBA at the beginning and shipping off of Amazon to capture shipping costs? I personally wouldn't do it. I personally would not use a non FBA business just because.
Well, it's not as simple then. So I got to think about more things. At that point, all I want to do is sell stuff. That's all I want to think about, is how do I sell more product? You can ask any of my partners, Sean or Matt or Paul. If I think about anything but selling, my head explodes. Like, if it wasn't for Matt Davis in my first business, I probably never would have figured out how to print a damn shipping label. Like, I mean, I just. My brain thinks about sales and nothing details. So I wouldn't use non FBA because my non detailed brain can't handle all that.
No. I'm making $250,000 a month. I can eat later. Really? All right. Most people are saying I can eat. Thank you. I brought lunch to the office today. It's broccoli.
Breathing fire mistaken and a pork shank or something. So forgive me eating my paleo meal in front of you.
Sorry, I just read a question that says how long till the webinar starts?
It's gonna be a while. Everybody sit tight.
Oh, Ryan, not Moran. Says I could eat if I take off my shirt. I've been working out a lot.
You think of that? How do you think of that? Ryan? Daniel Ryan, not Moran.
What else we got? My buddy and I are thinking about sharing the course. As partners, we'll be both be able to go to the live event. What they did last year is they said you can bring your partner, but you have to buy their seat, which was a few hundred dollars. So the short answer is no. But there's some workarounds to that.
Need to meet.
Amazon approved the second account. You just have to have a separate ll.
Eat. Eat. Thank you. Everybody take off your shirt. Nope, not gonna happen. My pants maybe, but not my shirt.
What else we got?
Hey, thank you for this. Just wanted to say thank you and express my sincere gratitude and appreciation for you sharing your knowledge so generously. Thank you for that. This is deeply needed. I hope you know that. You know, I was in the information marketing world and everybody was trying to sell their, their crap.
I just got tired of it. Like, I don't need to pretend like I've got secrets in order to sell more product. Like I'm being real.
Like, if you want to join Amazing selling machines or somebody else's link, that's fine. Or if you want to not join Amazing sewing machine, that's fine. I have a really good people.
Were really successful and a lot of people really regret not joining the tribe as a result of joining for another affiliate. They really regret it. And.
Like, I don't, I don't need to try and pitch you into a business model that you're not already sold on.
So.
Mine I'm building now, which is really successful people when that goes live. Thousand dollars a year and people are already joining that group. And there are people who are like, I'm not sure about the money. They're doing really well. They're doing, you know, 100, $200,000 a month. And that, you know, my fee for like the Intimate Mastermind is expensive. And I've told them is like, I don't, I can make $20,000 100 different ways. This isn't about, this isn't about me getting $20,000. This is about vetting the right people for the opportunity. And the same is the case with the tribe. Look, I don't need another person to join through my link. My businesses are really large now. This is about getting the most dedicated people into a group and creating the best group possible for everybody. So if this is a business model that you don't, there's no pressure. Like, you don't have to build an Amazon business. I don't care if you build an Amazon business. In fact, if you want to stay away from Amazon, I'll, I'll continue there. But if this is a business that you want, I, I can help and the tribe will get you further than you would get on your own. I love this question. Can I join the tribe even though my English is bad? Absolutely.
Can I join the tribe if I'm not in the U.S. yes, probably not. I'm really busy. Are there any markets that you think have a great deal potential? That's a great.
Pets.
Pet stuff I think has really great potential.
New inventions is going to be the new thing soon.
Sports and outdoors, like for specific martial arts.
Is an interesting one that not a lot of people are going into.
Camping.
I don't know what you'd sell in camping, but like outdoorsy kind of camping. As if there's a different Type of camping, Indoor camping. That's where the money is.
Type of stuff or hunting stuff. Hunting would be an interesting one.
Weight loss is always good.
You know what's interesting is Amazon is the one place where niches don't fall into health, wealth and love. Expensive hobbies are really where it is on Amazon because they're physical products. In information products, it's all about health, wealth and love. When a physical product is more it's more expensive. Expensive hobbies.
Blowing up.
Thank you for addressing my questions. My hubby says you're the one to follow. Thanks.
Haven't any comments on creating. Yeah, actually I do have an opinion on creating press releases. Only create a press release if newsworthy stuff to share. So many people are creating press releases about stuff that doesn't matter. Only create press release out of stuff that is actually newsworthy. It can be other people's news. But saying like you have a new product.
On Amazon isn't really newsworthy if your product or your type of product gets featured in the news.
Connected during oh when are the tribe calls conducted? Usually Saturdays at noon eastern. 11am eastern Saturday mornings people show up in their pajamas, including myself.
I have a supplement I want to sell but I want to give it to a company that can copy it and build me my own brand. We're going to have that done. I think you're looking in the wrong.
You warehouse at first. Great question.
We have them send it straight to straight to Amazon. Forgive me for anybody, I kind of feel bad about this.
But.
There are people who will have the Chinese suppliers send to a warehouse first for like inventory control. Like when you first start your Amazon business you can hold depending on what type of product you're selling, have anywhere between 5,000.
So what you can do some people will if they've got a bigger item like yoga mats. We can only have 500 at a time. So a workaround would be to have the Chinese supplier shipped to the warehouse, hold a ousand units, ship 500 to Amazon, ship 500 more to Amazon and then order the next round of inventory to to the to the warehouse. Well, that makes sense.
Are the Google hangouts recorded to hear later? They sure are. In fact you can listen to last year's on the Freedom Fast Line YouTube channel. I think there's a Freedom Fast on YouTube channel freedomfastlane.com no YouTube.com user Freedom Fast Lane or you can tribe Hangouts or something. Something like that. You can listen to last year's feeling.
Sandy Alamar says.
Sandy Alomar says sincere thank you for the answer. Appreciate 100 I like your name.
If you intend to sell your Amazon business, where do you sell the Amazon account and where do you. And if you want to keep one of your problems bought your business, they would buy your whole business. Not just buying your business. You're gonna sell the whole business.
What do you think about survivalist market? Interesting question. So my girl Pamela, if your name is Borat, my sweet Pamela takes. Takes Amazon clients. She helps people like big businesses get on Amazon. She. She takes a. A fee for that. And she had a client in the survivalist market that she turned because the profit margins weren't there. Different approach their. Their marketing strategy. Free blanket. Matt Davis come bring me a.
She turned down the survivalist client because the profit margins were just. They weren't there. But their. Their strategy was to break even in order to get new customers. So.
I don't know much about the survivalist market. I know it's a fantastic market and if you can find things that will sell for good profit margins on Amazon, I'd say absolutely, it's a good market. Know enough about this products in there in order to make a comment about what types of products.
Any upsells for joining asm? Not that I'm aware of.
Have you ever had a success lose its ranking and can this happen? Yeah, I've had products.
Mario Kartowski when we launched first page of Amazon for yoga towels and now they dropped to like page the end of page two. That's because we did a launch, we got a whole bunch.
Once the launch was over, the promotion was over, sales tapered off and so Amazon was like we'll rank you lower now. So now we're just. It's a. We're still ranked higher than we were if we had never done a launch in the first place. But for this we weren't really aggressive with our marketing after the launch. So it's more a process of doing things the right way over time to keep things going up steadily. But yeah, it's happened.
How do you know which suppliers are reliable when you can read their reviews on the site like Catherine in the tribe who lives over in Hong Kong and for a fee will go investigate suppliers.
Excuse me. And we'll actually look into the supplier and see if they're legitimate and send me pictures of your inventory and stuff and vet them for you.
How do people who are already in ASM join the tribe? If I have to answer this question one more time, I will probably.
Drown myself in pork and sweet potatoes and broccoli.
Send me. What's my address? Facebook.com Ryan Daniel Moran I said not let existing ASM members in, but if I think you're a good fit, you can PayPal me the affiliate commission and we'll talk about it.
Sandy Omar Cracking me up.
Three cardinal sins of asm. Building a product.
Selling a product that's not at least 15 or $20.
And.
Going into a market where there's no volume.
How are taxes handled?
No, if you have an Amazon business, the government's just like you don't have to pay taxes ever again in your life. We love Amazon so much, you don't even have to pay taxes at your job anymore. In fact, if you buy something, you don't even have to pay sales tax more. Of course you have to handle your taxes. You pay them just like. I mean you pay business taxes just like you pay any other business tax.
Have you ever had any students launch two different brands at the same time? No. Is that a bad idea if you have the capital? Yes, it's a bad idea if you have the capital. Eric, what's a much.
Is to launch two products at the same time in this same brand and use the capital for that. I don't know who just asked the question of if I'm Brian Moran's brother, but I'm gonna ban you because my biggest pet peeve in the world is getting confused for Brian Brand. I should have told you that. Now you're all gonna pick on me. The biggest pet peeve in the world.
Can I make clones of you and sell you on Amazon? Sure. I would love to hang out with me. I think I would annoy myself though.
Do you think that Amazon is going to react to the influx of private sellers? I do. Actually seems to be skewing their product review system which they consider to be a threat to their customers trust and review system. What do you think they might do? I have some insight here.
Next, go listen to my podcast called Amazon Prophecies.
I do think they're going to be changes. These sweet potatoes are delicious.
I do think that there's going to be some changes coming. I don't know exactly what they are, but I have some predictions.
Chris, would you be so kind to accept a payment plan? I don't know. It's not my product. For those of you who bought through another affiliate link and strapped for cash, no, I don't do payment plans for Google Drive. I just don't do that.
I would like to point out Joe John Fola's comment who says that Other affiliates lure you in with shiny objects. I am in both another affiliates group and the tribe. I spend 99.9% of my time in the tribe or talking people in the tribe. Other people's other people will disappoint. Thanks Joe. Wink. Joe is flying to Austin at the end of the month and we're going to work on his business one on one.
After sharing your experience, especially through your podcast. You're welcome. After starting FBA on the Amazon.com site, what's the process to expand to other Amazon sites? Are there differences we need to know about with each other sites? There are differences mainly that they're completely different channels so you have to address over there in order to get approved. It's a bit of a problem. The market is big enough on. You worry about it. I do know people have looked into it and that's here I think for some people. But it's something that I personally have not.
Lana asks, is the ASM course outdated? I don't think so. Has it been updated in the last three years? Yes, it has. Oh, I got a habanero. Oh, that's a hot pepper. Oh boy.
I'm a fire breathing dragon right now. Joe. John Fuller, bring me a glass of milk.
No, I don't. Wow, that's hot. No, I don't think that the the course is out.
But the tribe will catch up to speed on other things that are working better.
No, it's not outdated at all. It's still a great product. I am going to eat this piece.
Rudely and I'm sorry but no, I don't think it's outdated. I do think that there are things that can be expanded upon. That's kind of what we do in the tribe. Do I sell on ebay at all? I don't and probably should.
You didn't see that.
I don't sell on ebay at all.
But I actually hear good things about wow, it's so delicious.
There are good things for selling on ebay.
Some of our.
It's just not part of our strategy. No need to deviate from what's working.
Daniel says to clarify my question, would you say sales volume is more important for Amazon ranking than the number of views? Absolutely, absolutely. Sheer volume of sales is the number one factor for where you rank on Amazon.
I friggin love you. Getting into the tribe was the best business and it reached all my goals. Mark and I had a great discussion at the last in person tribe meeting.
Where he was like visiting the tribe was worth the flight. Here we Talked a lot about investing together too. That was a fun conversation.
I'm sorry for being quiet. I'm reading through a bunch of questions most of which I've answered already.
I live in Costa Rica. I have a US address and a bank account. There's not much of a postal system here. No address is not even a zip code and shipping TVS is me to do this. Yeah but you want to have everything sent to the US address and not to Costa Rica and you can pay somebody to investigate your.
In China or US based.
Just have a sample sent to you.
But have the rest of the of it shipped straight house. And yes, I would not have anything sent to you.
How long does the tribe last? We go through the course material for eight weeks and then we have our in person meetings and you're welcome at any time you want or join.
You can just stay in the Facebook group and hang out for as long as you want.
Hey Brian Krieger.
When you out of product point, Amazon comes to you and wants to take over your product. They will do that but you don't have to say yes. I probably would not give it over to them. I think I can do a better job marketing for products than Amazon. But yeah, there are times that Amazon says hey, you're really good, we want to take over your company and run it for you. That has happened. I know people have done that and not necessarily.
Not necessarily.
Like appreciated it or like had success. I just.
Okay, so there's this little feature on Google Hangouts here where you can give applause for favorite moments and I haven't had applause in a while here. So if you're liking what we're doing here, do me a favor and give me some applause here on the Google Hangout Also while I have yalls attention, we've been doing this for an hour and a half already.

Just joined. Kid has homework. Should we SEO Amazon products as well? Yeah, you can. It helps. It's not my main strategy to get sales, but plenty of people do do pretty well seoing your products. Don't watch me right now.
You didn't see that.
All right, if you have a question, get it in now.
That's a funny question.
Can I join the tribe if I'm a Martian and have two heads? But no, no's. Absolutely not. I hate Martians and Martians should go back to their own planet. They took our jobs.
How are you hacked on itunes? Don't they have security? My website was hacked and they pulled down all our podcasts. It's terrible. Don't watch me do this.
I had ribs for lunch. That's why I'm doing this.
If I. Can you imagine if like somebody wants to do business with me and they search for. Search for ryan Moran on YouTube, they find this video and they see me eating in front of all of you and picking food out of my teeth. They're gonna be like I don't want to work with this jerk.
Thanks for subscribing. Tori.
How much do you think a freight forwarding company taxes you? Goodness, dude, I don't know. And how much? Oh, Mitch, here's what you should figure. A dollar per unit in shipping costs. That's what you should figure. The rest I have no idea how to estimate.
Can you recommend some reliable US brokers for first time? I don't know brokers specifically. I'd get a partner or a US based address.
Thanks for that. The happy late birthday. Eric.
How important is Facebook for being successful on Amazon? It's not important at all. It's good audience Facebook. You can do it. On YouTube you can do it. You don't have to use anything as long as you can build up an audience that buys your product.
Ryan, do you have any comments on how to build bid on Amazon. Is it better to increase your PPC or your daily budget? I say it is better to increase your probably your daily budget. The idea is you want to be aggressive with Amazon ppc. You want to get as many sales as possible, even if you're only breaking even because that will feed Amazon's algorithm.
How many number of products would you say is a good number to have in play for good fat cash flow? 3 to 5. Look, five products selling 20 to 40 a day, you have a million dollar business. That's the math I like.
You didn't see that.
All right guys, let's wrap this up.
Just looking at your last questions.
Thank you. Charmin in cute if you're a girl, I take that as a compliment.
Can you send straight China? Yes. Yes you can.
Well, you have to have a freight forwarder, you have to have a shipping company.
You have to have a. This is the most unclassy webinar I've ever done.
You have to have a shipping company take your product from the port, China sends to the port company, picks up from the port, takes it to Amazon.
I think I have a few product, good product ideas. I know how to source and do everything on a tight budget. Can't order a lot of supplies. Can any investors help? We've addressed that.
Does reviews count? Yes, they do.
