How To Sell $100 Million Using "The One Thing"

Ryan Daniel Moran shows how entrepreneurs who sold $100 million broke their goal into smaller targets, then found the single highest-leverage task to do today. For a $100M-in-one-year goal, the chain is decide product, write sales letter, get it selling, buy ads. Action beats endless learning.

So I just posted this podcast episode with a bunch of people who had sold $100 million in their careers. Most of them had done it with physical products, actually. And it was a clip from our year end event. We do an event every year. We bring some of the best entrepreneurs and capitalists in the world and put them into one place because we believe that entrepreneurs will solve all the world's problems and that government should just get the hell out of the way. But we just posted this podcast episode where some of the more successful people who had sold nine figures were all on stage talking about exactly how they did that. And what was interesting is that all of them had followed some very, very simple strategy, and all of them were different. So none of them had like, this is the way to make $100 million. But all of them had a really simple way that they had done it. They were just all different ways, and there's not necessarily one way. But they all did have one thing in common. And it reminded me of another podcast episode that we did. I host a podcast called Freedom Fastlane. And on the Freedom Fastlane podcast, sometimes I bring on my buddy Jeff, who runs a company called the One Thing. And the One Thing is basically an analysis of how do you take a big goal like this and. And how do you bring it down into the thing that you can do right now that will get you closer to that goal? So, for example, one of the people who was on this podcast who had sit on this panel had built $100 million in one year, 12 months. He had built $100 million. Business, that's insane. And then when you boil down the actual model, it was like, oh, my goodness, that's so simple. And he sold physical products. And I'll talk a little bit about how he did it and how some of the other people did that. But here was the model that they all kind of followed. It looked like this One Thing philosophy from this book and this company called the One Thing is, you have your someday goal. One day I want to have a hundred million dollar business. If that's the case, then what do we need to have in place three years from now? And assuming three years from now, what do we need to have in place one year from now? And if we have that in place, what do we need to have three months from now? Like this quarter? And then break that into what do I need to get done this month? And in order for me to get that done this month, what do I need to get done this week?
And that gives me an Idea of if I'm gonna get that done this week, what do I need to do today?
That will be the first domino to leading to this someday goal. And if you can identify that piece, then you know exactly what you need to do today. And everything else is unnecessary. You need to not do anything else except that one thing. So in the case of my buddy who was on stage who had built a hundred million dollar business in one year, it looked like this. He didn't have a three year. He said one year, right? So $100 million in one year, okay? So for him, he needed to have $100 million or wanted to have a $100 million business in a year. So three months from now, he needs to have his product up and selling consistently so that he can buy a lot of advertising for it. And that means if in three months we need to have that product up and selling and a bunch of people helping us advertise it and we're buying ads for it, that means that in a month from now, we need to have the sales letter written. And if in a month from now, we need to have the sales letter written, that means that this week I need to know exactly what the product is. So today I'm gonna go figure out what my product is going to be so that I can put it through the rest of the system. Now, I'm simplifying it greatly. But what a lot of people who want to be entrepreneurs do is they look at all the opportunity in the world and they delay this one thing. They delay the action that is actually going to create a result. And instead they get focused in learning mode or complaining mode, and they don't do the thing that actually executes the rest of this vision. So for some people, it's just making a darn decision about what our product is gonna be. Make that decision be okay if it's not the right one, and then building all of the sales systems around it. But that comes later. Figure out what the heck it is that you're gonna sell, and then we go to the next step of the process. So what we do at capitalism.com is we help people create the change that they want to be in the world or see in the world. Because we think that entrepreneurs solve problems, that capitalism is the best way that will create more wealth, create more success, solve more problems. And that by waiting for government, we've done a really terrible thing because we have just delayed all of the results that we could be getting right now. It's people who make a difference and people who are willing to start that first domino and get the rest of it moving. So we help people get the resources that they need. We give them the strategy and the tactics that they need in order to be able to build businesses that make a difference, that create success. And that's what we believe in@capitalism.com so we have training classes that help people start physical products, businesses, or at least come up with their idea and get that idea out and selling. Because then we have incubators where we help people come together and accelerate your growth. And we have people who have connections in retail and do marketing and promotion. So if you can just get the first domino going, I know that not everybody can see the whole path. You're never given the whole path in life. Have any of you had a relationship not work out right? Like when you meet somebody, you think it's gonna be amazing and then you have no idea what's gonna happen next. In business, you don't get the five year plan, you get take the action today and then as a result of that action, new opportunities that you could have never seen come out of that. So if you just identify what you need to do today, make a decision on the product that you're gonna sell, call up the business partner, call up the investor that is gonna fund the thing that's been in your head, Write down what it is that you want to do in the world or the business that you wanna start, and then start sharing that with other people. What's the one thing that you do today that a week from now gives you momentum, and that gives you momentum for the next month or three months or whatever it is. If you don't know, then sign up for one of our training classes. We'll give you the whole model along with things that you can do now to get started. And if you like the model, then you can join one of our incubators or accelerators and get partnered with people who have funding or who have access that wanna work with entrepreneurs who bring new ideas to the marketplace. So we can be that service to you at this stage in the process and give you the plan to get that process started. Because we believe that, that entrepreneurs solve problems, that entrepreneurs are the change that we need in the world, not government. So if you agree, share this video with somebody who wants to be an entrepreneur or if you want to be that entrepreneur, sign up for one of our training classes or get involved@capitalism.com, subscribe to this channel and make sure you follow us@capitalism.com because we need more entrepreneurs and we need more people starting that one thing that creates this type of a result so that we can make a meaningful difference in this world. Hope to see you@capitalism.com thanks for watching this video.
