Tell us, if someone wants to start a business, what should he think about?
Well, the world's changing really quickly and E commerce is emerging. It's doubling every three years. And it has made the world more accessible to everyone who wants to be an entrepreneur. So what they should be thinking about is bringing opportunities online and they should be looking at the people that they want to serve and what those people already buy and then going out and doing it in a new and unique way. And so whoever you are, whatever market you want to serve, those people have products that they already buy and you can bring them in a new and unique way that is a real sustainable business that can be sold and scaled as big as you want, no matter where you live in the world.
Digital world is developing very fast. It's easier to start a business on Internet and not like physically.
One of the things I'm really excited about being here in Bucharest is the fact that the entrepreneurs here are so hungry. And as an American, I'm so inspired by the energy here because here, this is first generation freedom. You're tasting entrepreneurship for the first time. These last few decades is the first time these opportunities have existed here. So there's this hunger and this excitement in these entrepreneurs is so exciting. In America, we're used to it. We're lazy.
We've lost that hustle and the hustle that's here. I'm so excited to see all the growth that happens because the Internet has made all these opportunities accessible to people all over the world. And in a few decades, I'm. I would. I'm very bullish on the entrepreneurs here and on the economy here. And I'm very excited to watch what happens.
The majority of sellers are buying products from China and selling them on Amazon. Is this the secret of having a big business?
No.
The secret to having a successful business is providing value in the marketplace regardless of if you are selling physical products or you are consulting or you are buying products from China, it is a matter of does what you have have unique value in the marketplace? At the end of the day, those who give the most win. And those who give the most are happiest too. And that's what entrepreneurship is. It's finding new ways to give value to other people who want to buy that value.
What's your advice for people who want to start a business?
My advice for people who want to start a business is to focus on the people that you are serving rather than the product that you are selling. At the end of the day, money comes from other people paying for value. And it's your job to find out what other people want to pay for and to give it to them. That's what entrepreneurship is. That's how business is built. It's built by giving things to other people who want to pay for them. And so there's no secret except to find out what people want and to make their lives better.
What qualities should one have to be an entrepreneur?
You have to be good looking.
You have to do a lot of push ups, you have to drink a lot of coffee, you have to use your hands a lot, you have to say hustle and self awareness a lot. And an entrepreneur has to be willing to give more than other people are willing to give.
Entrepreneurship is a mismatch of value. It's providing value in the world and tipping the scales so that more value and more money flows your way. That's why the world gets better over time. It's why we live longer than we ever have. It's why we're healthier than we ever are. It's why the world is a better place now than it was 50 years ago. Because the role of an entrepreneur is to continue giving as much as possible. And those who give the most ultimately win.
Is it hard to create your own brand on Amazon?
Is it hard to create your own brand on Amazon?
Yeah, it's super hard to create your own brand on Amazon. It's super freaking hard to start a business. And that's why most people aren't willing to put in the time, why most people aren't willing to put in the work. And that's why only some people win. Because to give more than other people, you've got to put in more time than other people. So yeah, it's really hard. And those who do it ultimately get the payoff.
If it's hard, then why are people succeeding in this? What's the Secret? What are they doing?
There is no secret. It's a lot of hard work.
I mean, there's no secret to six pack abs, right?
I wish there was. Like, if there is, please tell me because I've read all those books, right? There's no secret to dating or relationships. It is all, are you willing to give more than you are willing to receive for long enough in order to reap the reward? It's almost like you're given a test and the test is, are you going to be a good steward of the reward that you're going to be trusted with? And in order to prove that you're worthy of getting the reward, you have to show that you are willing to give more than you will ever get. And you have to do that. In fitness, you have to burn more calories than you consume. In relationships, both of you got to be giving 100% or one of you is going to leave. And in business, you have to give more to your customer than you're expecting to receive because ultimately they're going to pay for the value that you bring because they believe that what you are bringing is worth more than the dollars they're giving you. So the reason why most people fail is because they're not doing that. And that's our job as entrepreneurs.
