Stop Complaining on Social Media

A short motivational monologue by Ryan Daniel Moran (Capitalism.com) arguing that complaining on social media is futile and wasteful given unprecedented opportunities today. Moran urges listeners to stop criticizing others (e.g., the president or the system) and instead take action—start businesses, build movements, and rally people behind concrete claims—to create change.

Are you getting tired yet? Of all the complaining on social media? Like I get that you don't like the president, that's fine. People have not liked the president since president existed. It's actually very unoriginal of you.
I get that you don't like the system, that you've got things that you're unhappy with in the world. I get it. It's fine. People have been complaining forever, but it doesn't do a thing to sit there and whine about all of the challeng. Especially when we live in the freest time, the most abundant time, the time when we have more access to people and opportunities than have ever existed before.
We live in a world now where anyone can start a business, anyone can rally people behind a message, anyone can.
Start a movement. Happens all the time. But sitting there and complaining about life, sitting there complaining about the president changes nothing. And it's just such a waste. It's just such a waste that we have all of this opportunity and we have people sitting behind computers and debating with one another. Here's the thing that is so sad that if we change this one thing, we can change the freaking world. Which is when we sit there and we complain about things that someone else did or said, we divide one another, we attack one another. Because I've got my side and you've got your side. But the minute you've got something that you're moving towards.
Rally people behind us and we're united. So there's a way that we can solve these challenges and we can have conversations about things that we disagree on in a way that makes change, that creates progress. And it's this, rather than argue about what someone else did or rather than.
To just complain about what is wrong in the world, if you take a claim and start moving towards it, you bring people with you. And the beauty of today is that any idiot can get funding for a business. Any.
Semi well spoken person can build a movement. Anyone with an idea can put it out to the world and be three clicks away from the person that changes everything. That is the world we live in. But instead of taking advantage of that, we have people just complaining behind phones and screens. You live in a world where you can create whatever change you want. Don't squander that. Please recognize how good you have it, how you are living in a time that has never existed before in terms of opportunity. Don't waste that by sitting there and complaining about it because you can do something about the challenges that this world faces and you don't have to wait for the president to change or the system to change, or we just have to wait for you to change. And as soon as that happens, we can affect whatever change we want. It starts with you.
