Ryan Daniel Moran says news outlets profit by selling fear and outrage, which programs your brain with threat-based thinking. Instead, choose books, podcasts, and people who support the life you actually want to build.

One of the things that holds a lot of people back from the results and the type of life that they want is the fact that they're unconsciously being programmed by other people against their will. So we are the product of the thoughts that we consume and the thoughts that we practice. We tend to become what we think about, not in a weird law of attraction way, but based on the results and the strategies that we practice and that become normal to us. So you become what gets programmed in your brain all of the time. Now, that really can stink because it directly flies in the face of what the news has to do in order to keep their ratings high.
News companies are private companies. They thrive on keeping your attention so that they can sell more advertising dollars. And in order to sell more advertising dollars, they have to keep you afraid. They have to tell you that a plane crashed somewhere even though 999 other planes landed safely. They have to tell you and speculate what might change or what, what might shift or what might threaten you in order to keep you watching. They have to offend you in order to get your attention. But you don't have to be affected by that because you're not. You're not affected by what someone in another place did. You're not affected by what the President did or said. You are affected by the things that you do and the results that you create. We live in a world of infinite abundance and infinite information. You can listen to the thoughts of the world's wealthiest people. You can listen to the habits of the most successful people alive right now. You can listen to interviews with people who are doing incredible things. You can focus on technologies and new things that are being invented that are radically changing our lives. But only if you want to grow. And there's no profit in the news telling you those things. There is profit in the news telling you that you're under threat. We're living through the longest peace time in history. We're living through the longest lifespans in history. We're learning, living through the most innovative times in history.
So the only way to keep your attention is to tell you something fear based, something fearful. And that's what the news does. If you want a different life, like, if you like watching the news and feeling upset, keep watching. Keep watching the news. If you want a different life, put different thoughts into your brain. You do that through the videos you watch, the podcasts you listen to, the books you read and the people that you hang out with. And if you are surrounded by people who have the life and are building the type of results that you want. It's almost impossible for you to not experience the same thing, but you will never get there. Listening to the thoughts of other people that are only putting their thoughts there because it hooks your attention and keeps you afraid and makes them wealthier. Stop watching the news.
Great.
