What's up, everybody?
Ryan here.
It's a beautiful night here in Austin, Texas.
Indians are on.
We're up six to four right now in the seventh inning. Indians are doing.
Are hot right now. Hot.
And I had a kind of a crazy week that I wanted to share with you because I have some kind of bold dreams, and one of them is to own the Cleveland Indians. And the. The way that I'm gonna get there is by investing in and by buying companies, specifically physical products, brands. And I think it's gonna take me about a billion dollars, maybe two, to get the Indians. And something happened today that really opened up some, opened up my eyes to what's popular and what's possible. And I was a spiritual. I spent the afternoon with one of my mentors who's also hopefully gonna serve as one of the board advisors on one of my private equity groups. And he has built $100 million companies. He went from 0 to 100 million in the first 12 months he's been on the podcast. His name is Josh Bazzoni. He's been at our backroom Mastermind meetups. And Josh and I were just riding jet skis around on Lake Austin here in Texas at one of his homes. And I'm driving around, and we pass Michael Dell's house. And Michael Dell's worth about $20 billion. He owns 300 acres right on Lake Austin. And the hop out of town, we're driving around, and there's this house that's on the market for $14.5 million. Josh has built a company, $100 million company, in 12 months. His business partner, his name is Joel, and he was showing me Joel's Instagram page. It's gone from 0 to 600,000 followers in three months. All real people. No, like, bot fans or fake things. And I realized how fast things can move when you align things properly. When you line things up the right way, success happens really quickly. I used to make the analogy that success is like a fire. Success is at its beginning, like, there's a spark. And what most people do is they take this spark and they put some, like, newspaper on it. And when I was a kid and I would make fires with my dad, I would, like, throw a bunch of newspaper in there, because newspaper would catch really quickly, right? And what most people do is they'll try and stoke the fire with a lot of newspaper, and newspaper will go catches on fire, and it gives you a spark, and then it burns out really, really quickly. But what my dad would do is.
My dad would get A little spark.
And he would get like a little piece of newspaper lighting to where there was a flame. And I would say, dad, we need more newspaper. And he would say, no, no, no, wait. And my dad had a very, very calm temperament, still does to this day. And he would go get a log and he would put it next to the newspaper that was on fire. And then he would take another log and he would put it in the fireplace on the other side of the paper. And then he would take some kindling and he would put it right over the paper. And I'm like, dad, we need more newspaper. There's no fire here. And he would say, wait, son. And then slowly the kindling would catch and it would start off really slow. And then it would start to grow, and it would start to grow and he'd start stoking it with bigger logs and bigger logs. And it was very methodical. But after a while it would just absolutely be roaring. And I would always get impatient and.
I would go for, I put more.
Kindling on or I put more newspaper on, trying to get more sparks, trying to get more flames. And what I didn't realize is that I was, you know, burning it up without any sort of foundation for it to catch. And if I had been slower, built things the right way, I would have had a much bigger roaring fire. And I was talking to Josh today and I said, hey, Josh, you know, when, how old were you when you started this hundred million dollar company? And he said, I was 38. Ryan, you're just a baby. You're just beginning. And so often I think, like, I'm 30, I've been at this game for over a decade. I've been an entrepreneur for more than 10 years, more than 12 years. And sometimes I think, you know, I've had some success, but I got so much further to go. But when you stack up the right things, Indian just got another run. Now we're up 7, 7, 4.
Yeah.
I often think, you know, when, when am I, I've had great success. I'm super thankful for my successes, but I often think I'm so far away.
From where I am, but when I'm.
Around an area where, oh, this guy's worth $20 billion.
His name's Michael Dell.
And this mentor mine has built a hundred million dollar company in 12 months. And whoever lives in this 15 million dollar house must be up to something. You realize how quickly success comes when you surround yourself with the right people, the right strategies, the right ideas, and then it takes one flame, one spark. One idea, one thing to kick it off. And if you stack your kindling and you stack your logs properly, success roars like a fire. And you can go from zero to a hundred million in 12 months. Hey, how did Josh build 100 million dollar company in 12 months? If you ask him, he says it all came down to one skill set.
And a lot of relationships.
That one skill set was copywriting. And he had lots of relationships in the health and fitness space. And he had a few offers do really well. And he grew to $100 million in 12 months by having those few basic logs in place. They put together one. I think you should put together a mastermind for some of their partners. They had one idea, it sparked and it. And success happened very quickly. Now, of course, it's taken a lot of work for them to get there and to maintain that, but. Oh, oh, oh.
Indians just stole home. Are you kidding me?
Francisco Lindor just stole home. I love this team. Oh, amazing. On that note.
It takes like, if.
You get the spark.
Like, for example, if I give the zero, here's the replay. Look at this, look at this. Here comes Francisco Lindor. He's coming home.
Are you kidding me? He's safe. He's safe, everybody.
So listen, if I give somebody the.
Million dollar plan and they're not ready for it, it's meaningless to them.
But if you give it to the.
Right person who's ready for it, success happens so quickly.
And so my question to you is.
Are you building the fire? Are you building the relationships? Are you building the skill sets? Are you practicing the habits? Are you raising your temperature of your expectations? Is a million dollars a lot of money to you, or do you feel ready for it when it comes? If a million dollars shows up tomorrow, do you expect it? Do you know how to handle it? Or does it slip through your fingers because it's not normal to you? The minute that you have the right ingredients, you've built the right fire.
Oh, my goodness. Ian scored another run. You guys are my luck charm. You guys, my luck charm. Indians are up 9, 4. I love you guys. So when you've got the. Here's another example.
Like, the Cleveland Indians were terrible for a long time, and they. But then they started creating the right environment. They started planting the right seeds. So its success happened quickly, and now they're perennial playoff contenders.
Are you planting the right seeds or are you hoping for the flame to catch and to take and to build the fire for you? It's okay to, like, look for sparks, but sparks burn out Very quickly if you don't have the foundation in place to keep that fire burning.
If you give an idea to two people, actually, let's make this super practical. If I give the same idea to a new entrepreneur, they might squander it. But if I give that same idea to my buddy Josh or to my mentor Mark, or to somebody who sits in the back room, they could turn that same idea into $10 million within a couple of years, sometimes a couple of months.
The spark, the idea, the striking of the match, anybody can have. But it takes that foundation of relationships, habits, expectations, mindset in order to build that fire. So my challenge to you is to start stacking the deck so that all it takes is the flick of a match for your fire to start burning. That means get plugged into mastermind. Start building relationships. I have a podcast episode called building your success network.
Go listen to that. Start building intentional relationships.
Start building habits, skill sets. Start making deposits into other people's relationship bucket.
That's what it takes so that once the idea or the spark shows up, everything else starts to take off. That's my challenge for you. So many people are waiting for the spark before they start building the fire, before they start building the foundation. That's the opposite approach. That's my challenge for you today. I hope you found it helpful. How are you building the fire? How are you starting to stack the deck in your favor? Let me know in the comments. Appreciate y'. All. Go tribe.
