Most e-commerce founders hit $2M revenue running products that each make $50k monthly, then get stuck because they're doing everything themselves. Breaking through to $10M requires hiring leaders who outperform you, building scalable systems, and shifting from chasing short-term profit to building enterprise value.
Chapters
Almost all E Commerce entrepreneurs stall at $2 million. $2 million a year seems to be this ceiling where almost everybody hits a wall and flatlines out. Here's why. They come out of the gate with four products all doing 50k a month. So they got a $2 million ish business and they're paying themselves and they're doing great. But at that point, that's when they as a founder are stretched thin enough that they can't do anything that is deep enough to grow. So the pathway beyond $2 million is different than what got them there. Start building systems and hiring department leaders who can do things better than themselves. It hurts in the short term because they got a $2 million business, they might only be making half a million dollars a year in profit. Every hire feels really risky, but we have to start freeing up the entrepreneur to focus on enterprise value instead of short term profit. But if you want to go from $2 million to $10 million, you've got to graduate from an entrepreneur mindset to an owner mindset. And that is a transition that is almost as difficult as going from not an entrepreneur to becoming an entrepreneur. But that is the transition that needs to happen if somebody wants to have a significant exit.
