All right, everybody, we got a packed house. This is awesome. Hey, Tribe. And for those of you who are watching on the stream, from my vantage point, it looks like your chat box might be down. I just noticed this as we're going. So if you want to go to the backup link, if.
You'Re not seeing the chat box, the backup link has its own Google chatbox and I'll man them both just in case your chatbox starts working. But if you want to, if it's not working for you, the backup link will work just fine. That's a Google broadcast page, so I will man both of those pages for you. So if there's any chats that come in, you have any questions as we're going along, feel free to chime in at any time. I just have a couple of house cleaning items before I take your questions. And house cleaning items, first of all, are this is our last Tribe call before the holidays, so it will be taking a nice long. We're going to call it an implementation break. So we're going to have no more Tribe meetings for the rest of the year until the first Saturday in the new year. So take this as an implementation break and I want to give you some assignments during that time. By the time we come Back to in 2015, you should have your product live on Amazon if you're not already. You should have your product live on Amazon by the time we get back in 2015. Your listing should obviously be written and you should be going to that list of people that you've made for your launch list, meaning the people that you're going to for reviews that you can bug to death to give you reviews and not sacrifice that relationship. They should have their products. That is where you should be when we get back in 2015. We have. I don't know how many times I can say the launch process for getting your product started on Amazon, but I'll do it one more time just before the break. The process is going to those 25 people who you can do giveaways to and bug to death for reviews. Doing some sort of a launch, either Zonblast viral launch, doing a Facebook giveaway, whatever it is, doing some sort of product of large product giveaway. And we are finding services like Zomblast are getting so effective lately that we can charge a few dollars and still give away a few hundred products. So what's been being tested lately is doing $4, $5 giveaway. So you mitigate a lot of your costs, but you still get that algorithmic spike when you give away 200, 300 units. And then of course, the third part is putting up Amazon pay per click. So these are the three things that you should be having in motion for your products when we come back after the new year. Now, some of you are going to have some cool experiences at that time. Some of you are going to say with pay per click, the blast and I have 25 reviews. Now I'm making regular sales. That is pretty much all it takes to start getting some semblance of regular sales coming in the door. And then we're going to be off to the races. Then it's going to be tweaking from there. You will basically have graduated the ASM training at that point. We'll be working together on growing things for the next month until we come to the live event where we have our big meeting and we'll all celebrate, have dinner and meet each other face to face. So that is what the schedule until the live event looks like. Those are the things that you need to be thinking about over the next couple of weeks as we are getting ready and leading up to the live event. That's where you need to be. If you are a past ASM graduate and you have already run through all these processes, then I'd like for you to set your own goals before when we meet in February. So I have my own company goals that are actually off of Amazon. We're building up some channels off of Amazon and my goal is to have those live and kick in by the live event so that I can show them to you. I also have some other things that are leading up to the live event, but I would encourage you to use that as a deadline for you to bring something cool to that meeting. Try a different traffic channel, launch your second product, try some sort of split test on your listing, come up with some sort of new experiment to do on your existing products so that we can bring that into the room in February and be able to talk about certain tests that we did that either worked or didn't work or you did a blast or a discount on a product that really kicked up in the rankings. I'll tell you one of the things we tested this week on one of my supplements, we cut the price to. We slashed the price majorly about 30, 40% just as a pure experiment. See what would happen. We have this product that's been stubborn. It hasn't been climbing in the rankings. We don't know why. It's been one of those just stubborn things that we, we've had a hard time with. So we said, all right, let's just do something fun and aggressive and see what we do. So we cut it to the point where we're only making a few dollars per unit sales doubled conversion rate went up 10 points. So it went from like 25% to 35%. It was high to begin with, which again, I don't know why it's not ranking higher, it's converting. Well, went from 25% to 35%. PP sales skyrocketed. This was four days ago. And the product moved from the bottom of page two to the middle of page two to north of the middle of page two. And now we're going to do a promotion to the list and we're going to be doing a Zon blast after the promotion to the list. Just an aggressive way to try and bully our way to the top again. So that's one of the things that I'm testing and making a goal to be able to present to you in February. Here's what we did with a sluggish product and here's how we got it to to. Hopefully I can tell you this is how we got it to 100 sales a day. Now we're not there yet, but that's my goal to be able to come to you and say we had a product doing 20 sales a day, we could not get it to grow. We're kicking it around, trying 100 different things. Here's what we did to get it there because we have momentum now and my hope is to be able to present that to you as well as some off of Amazon things that are related to another business. I want to give you a little bit of a sneak peek of 2015 since this is our last meeting before we go into the new year. We are going to be moving. First of all, I posted a thread about where you guys wanted to see the tribe go in 2015. You guys were very responsive. I very much appreciate that. And we are starting to see some movement on that. And 2015 we are going to be event based, meaning if somebody has a text, congratulations.
The tribe is going to be moving completely event based, meaning that there are going to be meetings. The way that people get into the tribe now is that they're going to be attending a meeting, meaning they're going to be attending an event, probably a 10 person event, maybe a little bit larger. And then there's going to be events for people who are more at an intermediate level to get them to to that 50,000, $100,000 a month level. So that'll be kind of the intermediate training and then we're going to be growing the mastermind, the people who are above that 50 to $100,000 a month level. There's about a dozen people in there now. People have started to sign up for 2015 and that group is going to be the.
I guess advanced group. So that is how we are going to be bringing new blood in and bringing people along a scale from new to intermediate and full time to massively successful. And the details of all that are being worked out. And the first meeting is going to be in March. It's already sold out. So thank you. For those of you who signed up for that, if you are interested in one of those intermediate events, do do me a favor and either send me a message or comment on the thread about it inside of the Facebook group because if there is enough interest early, I will open up a second date around those meeting times and we can have two to kick things off. So shoot me a message or comment on that Facebook thread and let me know if there's interest and we'll see about opening up some other dates. If there's not enough interest early in the year, then we'll do our second meeting probably sometime in May, sometime in the middle of the year. So that is the excitement in the tribe. We are moving over to completely in person events and in some capacity we'll keep the regular communication of hangouts and textual communication. What that is going to look like, not sure yet if it's going to be me on these hangouts, someone else on these hangouts, some combination of myself and another trainer or some other trainers. That's all being worked out and thought about and talked about. And as far as the threads, the Facebook group, is it going to be all on Facebook? Is it all going to be on our own website? That again is still being thought about, still being worked on. But we are going to be continuing and growing into 2015 and it's going to be different, but I think much, much better than what we have done up until this point. As we move away from the umbrella of everybody else that is growing Amazon businesses, we're going to be growing away from that group just because we are much more advanced than that group and that training at this point. And it's going to be much harder and much more expensive for people to get into the tribe moving forward. And you guys are grandfathered in and locked in forever and ever. Amen. So congratulations for that. So this group will be growing and it will be advancing much faster than it has in previous sessions. And I hope you guys are at least half as excited about that as I am. So that is.
The big news. I guess what I'd like to do now is, I think I'd like for you guys to confirm my suspicions. You should all be through the ASM training at this point, correct? Are there any modules? Well, some of you are saying yes, some of you are saying no. What I mean is the ASM training is complete. All the modules have been released at this point, correct? All right, cool. So by show of hands or thumbs ups, how many of you are at least past module 4 as far as your own training?
All right, good, cool. So from there it's all. Unless it's changed, and I think it has since the first round, which is when I went through. As far as I'm aware, from here it's all about marketing and getting sales. Is that correct?
All right, so I have pretty much laid out, I deviate from ASM at this point because I don't believe in doing press releases and YouTube videos and SEO. I just don't. I think, I think that is on the wrong side of the 8020 rule. Now, I know plenty of people who have done exactly that and been extremely successful. Of course, there's always that one dude who did a press release right around the time that Dr. Oz released a supplement and his press release got picked up by Yahoo News and he made 1,000 kabillion sales in a day. And is this great success story rocketed to number one on Amazon? I know people who have YouTube rankings all over the place and that's where they're getting their traffic and making their sales and all that is great. My opinion is for most people the best thing to do is your 25 reviews, your Zonblast or Facebook giveaway or viral launch or whatever you want to use, and then doing Amazon ppc. That is your stage one growth. Rinse, rinse, repeat and repeat again.
Until you are making 25 sales a day. And then we roll into multiple products. So what I would like to ask to turn over to you is that is my version of the rest of the ASM training as far as promotion goes. It's repeating that process until you can roll out products 2, 3 and 4. If there are changes in the ASM training that I don't know about, I would like for you to enlighten me. And I'd also like to turn over to you for questions about growing your businesses now that most of you have Inventory on the way. Some of you are already getting reviews. I'd like to hear where you're at and what we need to do to get you to that next level. So this is the point where I turn it over to you.
Hi.
Hi, Kath. Hi, Katherine.
You shut me last time so I speak up now.
Okay, cool.
Yeah, I'm excited. I got back my inventory, I ran out of stock. I'm in page one. So what I'm looking for is I lost two weeks inventory during the Thanksgiving week. So I'm just back on inventory. So I'm very excited to run the promotions.
We are running friends and family emails, list promotion and then Facebook advertising. So I'm really looking forward to run some holiday sales promotions for my product.
Now, Kathryn, I know you've been really busy doing a lot of sourcing for some tribe members, but this is on your own business. So you and I haven't talked about this much. We haven't talked about this much on the hangouts. Your own business, meaning you're not doing sourcing and research for other tribe members. That's a different business. So for your own products, for this business, is this your first product? Where are you at in that stage your inventory has hit? Is this product number one? Number two, have you been selling regularly before?
This is my first product actually. Honestly I was too busy to get the second product although I already sourced but I was just too busy at the sourcing. So I was quite feel a bit behind when I'm not ready to get the second product. But I will catch up by myself. I'll let my China team to help myself to get the second product. Negotiations. So yeah, after hearing a lot of things that I should be picking up, getting up faster to have the second product ready before meeting you guys in.
February, were you selling regularly before your product inventory filled back up? You've been out for a couple of weeks. Were you making sales beforehand?
Yeah, I was making quite well, pretty much 80 unit sales a day and.
It'S 8, 080 sales x 0 units a day. Okay.
And I'm ranked number 10 in page one.
Good, great. Yeah.
You're ready to start thinking about product number two?
Yeah, that's why.
But for now you're right. Be thinking about sales and spikes of what you can do to move things up page one to keep that momentum going, keep your inventory flowing and then you can think about product number two.
Yeah, I'm really excited also to think beyond Amazon because if I'm in page one, I think there's a Good chance for me to sell to other channels because of the number of views and reputation and also I got most of the product. It's really good reviews, it's 5 star review.
So I'm pretty confident to sell beyond Amazon.
Good. Well, congratulations 2015.
Go.
You know I got an interesting email this week. My partner and I got an email from somebody inside of Amazon asking us if we wanted some help moving over to Amazon uk which was something that I didn't know Amazon helped with before. This is something that we had talked about, something that we had thought about and other people were saying what do you do about international channels? And we got contacted by Amazon who asked us if they would like help moving over to the other international channels and that came down to volume. They said that it was because we were doing a certain amount of volume, they wanted to help us move into other international channels. I think it is review based but also volume plays a major part in your exposure in those international channels.
Yeah, agree. Yeah, agree. That is something we can think of with micrornet.
Cool. Well, congratulations Katherine.
Thank you.
All right, for those of you I'd like to hear from somebody who is ASM4, just tell me where you're at in the training and where you will be in the new year or I can start calling people out.
Hey Ryan.
Hey Kurt.
So it was a pretty busy week. I ordered my inventory and it got completed. I got a US manufacturer, he's pretty snappy. So that's shipping to Amazon as of yesterday around 2:00'.
Clock.
So that's pretty exciting but a little bit nerve wracking. So yeah, I got my email follow up sequence done. I got an ebook done.
I think I got a customer service deal in place. My buddy owns a call center and it's local so I mean apparently the guy's got a something that would be very useful for my own customers. So he's actually potentially one of my customers. So that should be a pretty slick deal. I solidified the branding. I got a VIP club and website all put together. So yeah, things are just like I'm ready to launch to my list of like 300 people I've gathered through my survey and my email gathering on my site. So that'll be like my first sort of launch and then I'm going to do Zonblast thereafter, presumably the Amazon PPC etc. So I should be selling. I don't know, it depends how long Amazon takes to actually get it in. But maybe next week. So take advantage of the Christmas rush for a Few days at least.
That's really, really exciting. Kurt, I'd like to hear more about the plan with your list because this is something that I think will be interesting to other tribe members. You've got an audience of people who want to buy your products. So tell us more about gathering that list. If you've done anything to prep them for the product. Let's talk a little bit about that.
Okay, so I've done two things to build a list so far. The first one is I started out, I got a free survey monkey survey, and it had two questions and an email capture. So basically, help me come up with a scent. So my product's like a male grooming thing. It's got a specific scent or not. So first of all, do you want it scented? Second of all, what scent do you want? So first of all, I verified my product, my market, basically, so I don't have to wonder what kind of scent they want. It's just, is the one I picked close enough to what they said. And then for doing that, you can get my product for a dollar when we launch it. So I've had like 250 people sign up through that, and I did that through Reddit and then through Facebook ads. So I was getting, I think like 13 cent clicks on my Facebook ad, which was pretty good. People are signing up at a fairly good rate. And then I've got a niche site, an affiliate site in my industry. So I just threw up. Like you said, an email pop up, get our product, get our new product for free, basically, or for a dollar. People sign up for that. And there hasn't been any sort of prep like you said. But that's something I. I guess I should have done or maybe should do soon because it's only been about a week or two for most of these people. And part of the thing for their signup was we'll send you a coupon in a week or two weeks when we launch.
Maybe if you've got something to say about that, I'm all ears. But that's how I went about building it.
I would start building up some anticipation for that launch day. I would be sending twice a week emails explaining what's so cool about your product or what's so cool about the scent.
Our men's mouthwash makes your breath taste like steak, so women will want to make out with you all of the time. These types ofactually, you can use that exact copy if you'd like. You should just start leaking what it is that they're going to experience.
From your product and why you tell a story. Tell the story of why you decided to make this product. If you need help coming up with a story, I'm pretty good at this. You looked at everyone else in the market and you thought, you know what, we can do this better because we serve this person and this person and this person. What we've heard is that people are frustrated by this, this and this. And we wondered, I wonder if we could do things differently. That's a good enough story for people to go, I really like what this is all about in yoga. Ours was as simple as being environmentally conscious. We've done what we can.
To reduce waste and to reduce the need for unnecessary materials. We pass that on. We told the story of, haven't you ever wondered about going into the yoga studio and the type of material that is used by all the yoga studios around the country? We think so much about our connection to the earth and yet we never think about the actual twin tools that we're using and how much waste is involved in them. So we wondered, could we do things differently?
That simple story has created an incredible amount of brand loyalty. So if you can come up with some sort of a story around your product and leak that to your customers, along with an email once or twice a week about some sort of feature about your product, you'll build up a lot of anticipation. Even though that group is only 300 people. Let me ask you this, are you planning on giving away dollar units to all those 300 people or however many people have signed up, or are you thinking about tiering it or doing a limited number of giveaways?
Well, the thought was if I can get. My goal is to give away 250 units, but I wondered then if I should do sort of like three blasts, so to speak. So I've got 100 units right away for our, you know, pre launch special. And then like, you know, the next week Maybe I've got 50 units because we want. People wanted it so bad. And then the week after that maybe another 50 units that just, you know, that's sort of. I know that Master Joe was talking about his wave experience and that's sort of similar to that. It's a sustained burst of sales, but not only not over days, over weeks, I guess. So I wasn't sure if I should do that and sort of have 250 over a couple weeks or just go like, boom, everyone can get one as long as, you know, you got the code right now. So I was leaning towards the weak thing.
But I don't know.
Well, I've got two things to think about on this one. From an algorithmic perspective, the shorter the window of the giveaway, the more of an impact it has. Think about it this way. There is a connection and I don't know what the exact connection is, but there is a connection between your BSR and where you rank. There is a connection there. I don't know how strong it is or how strong the correlation is, but there is definitely a correlation between the BSR on Amazon and where you rank. If you spike it a little bit, you'll grow a little bit. You'll rank a little bit higher. If you spike it a lot, your average will be higher. So it is better for the algorithm if you spike for a day and make 500 sales than if you spike for five days and have 100 sales a day. This has been tested a bunch of times. From a ranking perspective, it's better to do a shorter window. However, my recommendation is I am moving away from the dollar giveaway and I am moving toward large discounts, but not dollar giveaways. The reason being is because it's not necessary to do dollar giveaways right now. I can hit my list and do a half off coupon and break even and do the same sort of volume that I would do if it was a dollar. Now my list is a little bit larger. I've been around for a couple of years. But I do if there's a viral launch or a Zomblast, a dollar giveaway is going to do 800 units, sometimes more. I don't want to give away 800 units. I'm going to get the same type of spike from 2 to 300 units. So instead I'll do a 499 giveaway or 399 giveaway. And this way I have I mitigate my costs a little bit. I'm making an extra three to four dollars on each unit. And that kind of mitigates some of the loss from the fact that I'm giving away highly discounted product and paying Amazon fees. It mitigates some of that. And I'm still able to hit the number that I want to hit as far as spiking the algorithm. So I personally, from where I'm at in business, am moving away from the dollar giveaway. Now, I'm not saying that's right for everybody, but that's what I've decided to do because I don't really want to do dollar giveaways all that often anymore. I will still do them in the event of we need to get reviews. So let me paint this picture for you. I'm in one of my businesses in the supplement space. There's a ton of fraud. I mean a ton, a ton, a ton of fraud. We could hire somebody full time just to combat fraud. It's exhausting. So we have one system where we have somebody will buy for a dollar and then we've got a very, very aggressive follow up sequence to get them to leave a five star review. And we will do that in order to get reviews. If we get a surge of fraud, a bunch of fake negative reviews come in and we have.
We might do a giveaway to Facebook in order to have 500 new buyers come in that will come in and leave reviews because will often get a dozen 12 star reviews overnight. Sorry, a dozen one star review will come in overnight. We wake up, we go, oh, how are we going to mitigate this? We have to fight them and we'll do something aggressive to get it there. But from a ranking perspective, I don't feel the need to give away that much anymore. So I would recommend. And recommend might not be the good word if I were you. I don't know if this is going to work, if this is going to do well or better or not. But what I'd probably be doing in your situation is doing a launch of $100 giveaways and then having a tiered system, having the first hundred are gone. Now the price is $4.99. It's still 60% off the original price or whatever it is. And then you do a half off and you have it for $9.99 and then you roll it out at its final price which is $19.99. Now I'm just making up those numbers, but I'd be curious to see if you have a list that's ready to buy. Doing a tiered giveaway until it reaches its final price. And then you surprise them at the end where the final price is. The final price is going to be $29.99. But then at the end you decide, you know what, I want as many people to have this as possible. I've decided to price it at $19.99 for you indefinitely. Here you go. Might raise the price at any time. And then on Amazon you have it listed as the retail price is $29.99, but the sale price is $19.99. And that way you can be congruent with what you said to your list. I saw A little light bulb go on when I was.
Yeah, no, that's excellent. I'll do that. And I guess I'm going to. I'll probably turn the Facebook ads back on because those are working pretty well because I guess for given 250 way, if I want to do that quick, I'm going to do the bigger list. Okay. So yeah, I'll do that and I'll let you know how that goes. I guess I've just got to be sort of on the ball when that's happening because I imagine 100 might go pretty quick for a buck and then just be ready to follow that up with the next email which is like, oh, sorry guys, they're all gone. But you know, because I'm so nice. 4.99 or whatever. Okay, so let's do that. That's excellent. Thank you.
Cool. Now one thing that we'll probably test next that I like to do this, I like to give you guys some test ideas so you can report back to the tribe on this. Still waiting for one of you to use the video review the video review solicitation and report back to us on if that has a bump in conversions. We are testing it. It's just not done yet. So hopefully I'll have some awesome data for you by the February get together. But one thing I would like to see someone test is to do a giveaway without a coupon code instead of doing a public giveaway through something like a Zomblast or Facebook launch. If your product is normally $19.99, just make the public price $3.99 or $4.99. Now I haven't done this, so this is just me throwing an idea at you. But I'd like to see the data of instead of giving away a coupon code, just make the public price super cheap. Now this way you get organic sales through the keywords that you don't have to fake. And also you reduce your Amazon fee because that 15% doesn't go away when you have a coupon. So you're paying 15% of your full price when you do a coupon code. You can mitigate that cost a little bit if it's a 15% of three bucks or whatever it is. I think they have a minimum to it, but you can bring that down to the minimum rather than paying 15% on your inflated product cost. And you get more organic sales that you're not faking through some sort of a link that changes the timestamp or changes the keyword. You just get them naturally through the search engine. Now, I haven't tested this except for the point that we're doing about a 40% discount on one of my products. And we are seeing a spike in bsr, we are seeing a spike in rankings.
And this is like a four day. This test is like four days old. So my data is very fresh and it's not worked out yet. And we still have a lot to do. But I'd be interested in seeing someone be bold enough to say, I'm going to do a discount.
Just publicly. So I bring that up around what Kurt is talking about for his launch, because I'd be curious if the way that you did your launch is you just made the public price that rather than having a coupon code and then instead of turning off a discount code or whatever, just raising the price, because that gets changed almost instantly on Amazon, you hit your hundred sales, change the price. Now you email your listing and say, here's the deal, it's now $4.99. When I get 100 more sales, it's going to go up again. Switch it, it changes immediately. You don't have to worry about changing coupon codes or coupon codes getting leaked. All of that can just be done organically. Does anybody know of any issues with that? Has anybody tested this or know of any issues?
No one's shaking their head yes.
I invite the tribe to try a.
A public blast. We will call it and see what happens. Or going to something like a master. Joe, if you're listening, I would love to hear your thoughts on doing something like a Zonblast that didn't go to a coupon code. It just went straight to an Amazon listing with the discount already baked in.
Be very interested to see the results on this.
Joe, may I call you out on your acquisition and hear where you're at? You're looking at me like I knew you were going to do this. Can I hear an update on your acquisition and where you're moving forward?
You, Joe? Yes, damn it.
Can you hear me?
Okay.
This is the first time. Okay, well, I just got my label done. It's been. I've been actually really sick for the last week, so out with the flu, so I lost a week of time.
Inventory is on the way and unfortunately it's going to take a few weeks to get there, so I'm going to probably miss Christmas. I don't think it matters too much.
Though, and.
I got some good ideas now of how to maybe market this from Kurt. So I'm going to happily steal your ideas. I'm sorry, Kurt.
I'm not doing the steak flavored makeout mouthwash. No.
Steak flavored make outwash.
So I got that done and I'm really excited. But I think I need to put a little more effort into how to market this and building up an email list. And I might try the public zone blast thing actually might work well for the price points that I have.
Are you rolling with the product that you and I discussed privately? Is it still going forward with that? Cool. I think that was a good decision for you. I like that market a lot and I think it would work for what we've talked about as far as launches go. Will work in that market. I think I confused you with someone else you're not acquiring. Who was it that was acquiring a business.
Who was it? Now I forget. Forgive me, Joe. Yeah, I think that plan will work. So did you say that your inventory. What's the status of your inventory?
It's on the way. Fortunately, it takes three to four weeks to fill the inventory from them. So I did order a large volume as you suggested. So I can do all that right from the get go.
Good. I think that was a smart move that allows you some experimentation with room for error. If you go out and you do a public. We're just going to call it a public blast. If you do a public blast at 499 rather than.
Doing a private one and it doesn't work, you have time to recover when you have more inventory or if you do one and a coupon code gets out and it sets you back but you get a spike, you don't lose that momentum. So I'm glad you did that. I always say the more amount of inventory that you can handle, the better you'll be as far as a growth perspective. So good work, Joe.
Cool. Would anybody like me to personally go over their situation or help them craft a launch plan or answer anything else that we need to do to get to the next level?
Can I get on here?
Yeah, you can.
So this is my first time. I've got three kids and a wife and so this is a tough time for me to get on. But I told her I need to get on before Christmas.
Cool.
So where I'm at is my product got to Amazon at the end of November, I think November 30th I was ready to go. I did a Zomblast a week ago Friday and gave away 100 units in about 20 minutes. And that really gave me a spike up because I Hadn't had any sales up to that point, but that gave me a spike up. I turned on Amazon ads and I met. Right now I've got about 14 reviews.
And.
I'm doing about three to four sales, three to five sales a day at this point. So I'm looking to try and figure out what I should do next to really try and take it even further. It sounds like I need to get to at least 25 reviews.
At least. Yeah. The only thing you should be thinking about until we meet again in January is how do I get as many reviews as possible? That is all James needs to be thinking about. You are begging, crawling, and I almost said buying and that would be a horrible word to use here. You need to be begging, crawling and getting as many reviews as possible until we meet again in January. So 14 is great, but you're not the same product. An inferior product to you that has 100 reviews will outsell you because you don't look established yet. Until you're at about 50 reviews is when you start being taken as somewhat authoritative. And then there's a little bit of diminishing returns. After 50, 100 reviews. There's some diminishing return on reviews unless your competition is just doing hundreds and hundreds of reviews at a time. But if you're making sales with 14 reviews, I'm very encouraged by your product and the market that you're in. Your only focus is on more reviews.
Right now, I'm fairly low. I think a lot of the sales must be coming from the Amazon ads. I'm guessing probably I'm fairly low organically. I'm not ranking very high yet.
Are you within the first three pages?
When I did the Zomblast, I spiked at the top of page two for one of my main keywords. I've since dropped down to. I'm on page three now. Now, the other question I have is the keyword that I think would be the best is not what the Amazon ads are telling me is necessarily the best keyword for me. As I start to see that data come in, it looks like there's different keywords. So I might need to change my listing to optimize for other keywords that are what are coming through the Amazon ads.
That's actually really exciting. I would turn up your ads in order to keep facilitating that process. Now, I'll answer your question in a second, but first I want to, because I have a little bit of a rant and some weird news on something to answer your second question. But for the first Part. Do you know what your conversion rate is right now?
I need to check those statistics. I haven't gotten into that yet.
Okay, cool. My guess is it's fairly low because you've only got 14 reviews. Once you bump that up to 25, 50 reviews and your conversion rate is 15% or so or higher, I'd recommend you do another blast. The reason is because when you spike yourself up to the top of page two and you've only got 14 reviews, Natural Forces are going to bring you back down.
I should say I had zero reviews when I did the blast.
Interesting. Okay, well, I'm very excited about your market then. If you can rank at the top of page two with zero reviews. But when you've got a really healthy conversion rate and you've got 40 reviews or so and you do a blast and you get to the top of page two, spill over into the bottom of page one, natural forces now from conversion rate are going to bring you up and sustain real sales.
That's the difference that you'll experience when you have a really strong conversion rate is the blast won't fade. You'll continue to climb up because your conversion rate is higher than everybody else around you. Right now, it was lower than everybody else around you because you had no reviews. So naturally you're going to fall. But when you have that strong conversion rate, that is the spike that is going to keep you growing and keep sales coming in. So I'd recommend, once you have those reviews, consider doing another blast to sustain and grow that momentum. Okay.
Yeah. I was planning on doing another one in January after I order more inventory.
Cool.
Now, let me address the second point, because I had a very interesting conversation with someone who is really good at testing things on Amazon, and he split tests a whole bunch of things, and he said, I did a very weird experiment. And I said, okay, tell him you have my attention. He said, I removed certain keywords from my listing completely, and then I just added them to the keyword section in the back of my listing, and my keyword ranking skyrocketed. I was like, that makes absolutely no sense. He says, I know. I don't get it either, but I tested it a second time. I removed the keywords from my listing, just added them to the keyword section of the back office, and they skyrocketed again on the second product. And I think he said he tested it three times and it worked every time. Now, this sounds way out there. This is like, I don't know. This is about as hooky as an energy healer to me. So this is out there in my mind right now. Forgive any energy healers who are on the call. This sounds a little bit out there that you can remove a keyword from your listing and your keyword ranking go up. So I have not tested this. This is just what someone told me. I would like to invite anyone on the tribe who would be interested in testing this. Feel free to go ahead and test this. But to your I bring this up, James, because you brought up, you might want to tweak your listing for those keywords that are coming up. I am very interested by this data that this person gave to me. So I don't know how to best advise you on where to put your keywords, except that I have tested adding keywords to that back end box and it definitely makes a difference having the keywords there. So I'd be interested to see you test just adding those keywords that you didn't know would convert to that back end area. Don't worry about your listing and you can kind of play with it organically and see if adding it to your headline helps. Adding it to your bullets helps. Start slow though. Start by just adding them to that back end area. See if there's a bump and then if you want to play with your headline, play with your bullets, play with the description, go for it. But it'd be cool to see what would happen if you just started with each point because then you'll see for sure which areas make a difference in your ranking. Most people will take a keyword, blast it all over the place and say, I saw an increase. I don't know what the increase came from. It would be good for you to come from the ground up and say, I put it here. Put it here. I put it here. This saw an increase, this didn't. This saw an increase and this didn't. And I think that'll be helpful for you moving forward. Cool.
Great. Cool.
Thank you.
Yeah, Cool. Would anybody else like me to go over their launch plan or where they're at?
Can I?
Yes, go ahead.
I'm not yet at.
When the inventory is on the way to Amazon Fulfillment Center. We actually have some issues or delay with catering, with sourcing. But I think that in the next week, as we were talking this week, we will be able to order.
Inventory and we are Planning to order 1,000 units of inventory and ship them to the warehouses. We actually have everything prepared. We have our Facebook fan group, we have a couple of people who live in USA from our country. I'm not from usa, I'm from Slovenia and they are willing to help us getting the reviews and they will also ask their friends to help us to get those Nucleus reviews. And we also have prepared. It's not yet finished. We just ordered illustrations for our ebook.
We also have.
Prepared this landing page to get customers from inserts directly to our email list. And this is actually this where we are right now. So we are also talking with Katherine for second and for third product.
And actually, actually.
We are in the process of.
Getting these products from.
China and to prepare everything as it should be.
Good. Well, congratulations. You are working way ahead which is very exciting. But I would be careful to advise you to remember to hit those points at the beginning of the getting those initial reviews, doing a blast, putting up Amazon pay per click, those are the first things you need to be focusing on. Inserts and landing pages is awesome. I love the fact that you're way ahead on that game. But don't neglect those early steps of getting things kick started.
Yeah, actually we have some extra time because of this delay with inventory and because of that we also focused to to that part because I didn't want to miss that in the meantime while we are waiting for inventory.
Good.
So this is the reason why we prepared everything. Actually we also set up a webpage, it's not yet finished. We are preparing some articles for it.
We are doing this in the meantime. So we are actually focusing on the lunch. On the lunch. We are thinking to give away let's say at least 400 units and.
This is it. Actually yes, we are fantastic. We are focused, we are really focused on one big launch. But we have to get inventory first to Amazon.
Well, your approach is great. What I like about what you're doing is you're not launching a product, you're launching a business. So you are launching things from the get go and that is really exciting. I think your long term planning is very healthy as long as you are not neglecting those early stages. And the fact that you have people lined up ready to give reviews and they have friends to give reviews is fantastic. One of the ways that you can start to kick start that is through just by targeting us based people on Facebook, getting them onto a list with a follow up sequence, putting them through your landing page. But you're probably already thinking about that.
Yeah, we have actually almost 300 people on our Facebook fan page who are mostly from usa. So we're targeting with Facebook ads only people from USA because we want to start there first.
Good.
Well congratulations, you're doing all the right things. Thank you. Good. And while he was speaking, all of you were so shocked that all of your Google hangout images froze on my end except for Tad and myself.
So I don't know if you guys somebody take themselves off mute and say something because from my end, you are all frozen except for Tad and myself and Kathryn. We can hear you. You're all good now. Brian's moving now. Brian, Catherine, Tad, and myself are all good.
Can we hear from our neighborhood friendly Brian?
Sure. What do you want to hear?
I want to hear your predictions on the stock market.
There's a chance it'll go up, it might go down, it probably won't stay the same.
How's that?
You heard it here first. Tribe members.
Predicting the stock market is.
Like being a weatherman. You can have all the tools you want, but at the end of the day, it's a guess.
How's business and what are you working on right now?
Business is great. The holiday season is wonderful. Who would have thunk that people would want to give away my product as a gift? But hey, I'll take the money. Thank you very much.
It's been an interesting journey over the past six months. I gave a little bit of an update last week. Things are chugging along very, very well. About to break the 300 review mark. I'm two away on the main product, so from nothing back in May, don't think I'll see much of a bump in conversion from that milestone. But I want to share something with the group. And earlier we were talking about listing optimizations and other things that you can do. One of the techniques I've done is you always got all these ideas of how to optimize a listing. I make a list of what I want to do, different titles, changing keywords, different images, that type of thing. The hard part is figuring out what works and what doesn't. I change my listings every Monday. That's when I do my optimization. I just run down my schedule and I keep track of what I'm changing on each of the listings. Then I retrospectively look at my data on conversion. Systematizing your listing optimization, I think is a good thing. I just wanted to share that tip with the group. I don't know if that's how you do it, Ryan, or not.
We do it very similarly. I'd be curious to hear, have you seen any. What specific things have you found that made the biggest impact in that listing?
I have not changed my images. My images are reasonably good, I think, but it's been primarily in the title. I've also altered the price point slightly. I've also altered the stated discount from the list price to the price I'm actually selling it at. In other words, going from, hey, you're taking 10% off to you're taking 26% off, getting over that 25% off number. It's been interesting to see.
The pricing.
Stuff.
Tends to give me a pretty decent bump in conversion. And when I raised the price.
Bumped the actual price up about 10% four weeks ago and my conversion's actually going up.
That's great.
Conversion rate has gone up.
Have you seen any of your secondary products start to kick in and produce consistent sales?
Yes, absolutely.
Cool. Has there been kind of a two plus two equals five effects that has rolled in from that six or seven?
Seriously, you get one product, that's the horse you're riding, that's what you're throwing your promotional efforts in. The other ones come along, you throw a Zon blast or two at them and it just goes gangbusters. I'm not going to share any confidential data on the group, but the slope of my curve in November is pretty darn good.
That's fantastic. And you know, I have, I did find in my first business that the six to seven month point after making that first sale was really the turning point in which things got really exciting. For whatever reason, that six, seven month mark, and forgive me, is that's about where you are from the time you showed your first sale. Correct.
I sold 30 units in May, so I am just at over six months. Six plus five is 11.
Good. Thank you, sir.
Cool. So it was right at that point. What are you doing per month now? Like 20 units a day or so?
I am just about ready to break 30 units a day.
That's fantastic. Congratulations. So it is right at this six to seven month point that things start to the hockey stick.
That's what I got in November. And I hope it's. Honestly, I hope it's not Christmas season. I hope it truly is a hockey stick.
Well, your rankings have gone up significantly in the last two months or so, have they not?
Yes. Primary keyword, primary product. I was stuck at 42 for eons and I'm now at 25.
Awesome.
And going back to something you and I talked about. Reviews, reviews, reviews.
I did a little bit of a beg with all my customers. Hey, I'm a small business guy going into the holiday season. Can you please, please, please give me a review?
Just shot that out to people that had bought the product. And I've seen.
Between all four products, I think I've added over 100 reviews.
That's fantastic.
And they're honest.
I did get a couple three stars.
And a couple one stars out of it, but that's what you get. You got to ask for honest reviews.
I have found that.
There needs to be a balance within your reviews. If you have 100 five star reviews.
24 stars, a three star and no two in one stars, people call BS on that. I do see people who have these ridiculous review profiles and they go, why am I not getting any conversions? Because you have no two star reviews. Everybody's calling BS on you. There needs to be. I have found the sweet spot to be about 4.3 stars. 4.3 stars is kind of the sweet spot for conversion. Not 4.9, about 4.3. Because higher than like 4.8 and 4.9. People are like, this is BS. What's going on? Something weird's going on here and Amazon is starting to crack down on this. Amazon is actually what university they go to that is creating a new algorithm for their reviews in order to eliminate fraud. Please God, let this be true, that they're coming out with a new algorithm to eliminate fake reviews. I'm. I am praying to every Roman God and every Greek God in history that this happens quickly.
The truth of it is that people are starting to smarten up when it comes to reviews. 4.3 to 4.5 ish stars is really the sweet spot that I aim for. Sometimes I get higher, sometimes I get lower. But that seems to be a really strong sweet spot to. So I think it's a good thing that you got some two stars and some three stars along with that.
Go ahead.
Sorry, I was just going to share it. I'm at 4.7 right now. I was at 4.6 also. It's talked about in the training, but getting that good three star review which is showed as the comparison most helpful, positive, most helpful, negative. Getting that early and making sure that that stays there is critically important, I think.
Yes.
I have not intentionally tested this. I have had this tested for me.
Because of fraud. I had someone post a negative 4 star review and then overnight vote it up with dozens of votes. So the most helpful review was a review that said this product does not work, but the shipping was fast. So it was very craftily done. Really pissed me off. That was done by Asshat, who has now come up three times in the last couple of weeks. So Asshat did that review and then Asshat created a bunch of fake one star reviews and voted them up. So the most helpful reviews were all reviews left by asshat and that crushed our conversion rate. I mean just absolutely destroyed us. So we then went in and did a bunch of things to vote those reviews down, vote the really good reviews back up. All this to say Brian is correct that those reviews that show up for most helpful and those reviews that show up for underneath the most helpful or most helpful, positive, most helpful, critical, and then all the ones underneath, that definitely plays a role in your conversion rate. And that's why I'm curious if you want to take the time to get video reviews. If those were voted up, I bet that would create a large bump in conversion rate. But yes, that good three star review definitely pays a bump in your conversion rate.
My Most Helpful 5 star is a video review.
Cool.
Cool. All right, tribe, my apologies to those of you watching on the broadcast for the chat box. I'm going to have to look into this in between meetings. Not sure why the chat box wasn't shown for you. So my sincere apologies for that. But thank you to those of you who are on the live stream. This was a nice active call. Remember, we will be meeting in early January again, so you have a nice implementation break. This is not a pause. This is an implementation break for you to get things moving over the holiday season. Have a great Christmas and an awesome new year and I will see you guys in a couple weeks. And I will be active on the Facebook thread and in the chat. So by all means post your updates from there. Thanks everybody and we'll see you in a few weeks.
