Why Some People Hit It Big

Ryan Daniel Moran argues that obsessing over results kills success. Instead, fall in love with the process itself. Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to others, and you'll stay present and consistently productive in business, social media, dating, and fitness.

Hey, what's up, everybody? See, Money and I are on a walk here in downtown Kiev, Ukraine, and we were just having this conversation that I thought would be beneficial. We were talking about how everybody who's hit it big in business, in social media, everybody who has had a lot of success had one thing in common and it was that they fell in love with the process. We spend so much energy thinking about getting to the results. Like, what was the example you said, If I make 20 videos and one of them doesn't hit, I must be a massive failure, Right? Yeah, yeah, you should have a. Just enjoy the process. Yeah, the people who really make it are the ones who fall in love with exactly where you are right now. And it's true with everything. Like, it's true. It's true with dating. Like, if you're in love with the end result of getting married, rather than actually.
Enjoying the process of being with this person, you're toast. And then on the other side, like something like fitness or your body, if it's all about the end result, you burn out. But when it's falling in love with the process of where you are now and where you are going, everything changes. And the same is true with business or making videos on social media. If you don't enjoy the process, if you're not in love with where you are now, then you have to expend energy, you have to grind your way, you have to force yourself in order to do the hard work. So being present and in love with where you are now.
Is the hack to doing the work. It's the hack to actually getting yourself to effortlessly move forward. And you can only do that if you're in love with the process. If you enjoy where you are right now. And the thing that I like to do in order to get into this mode is to change the reference point for what I am comparing myself to. If I'm comparing myself to where I came from, where I started, where I was born, what the expectations of my peers were when I was in high school, I feel really good about the process of where I am right now. If I compare myself to where I want to be, I always lose that game because you never get to where you want to be. And so we tend to go into our heads and think, well, if I do this, this and this, then I'll get the result. Rather than thinking about, here's where I came from, here's where I am now, and when I go all in on the opportunities in front of me, imagine where I'm going to be in a couple of years. And that mindset has really got me to regularly stay in that zone of I love where I am, I love where I'm going, I'm excited to see where I'm going, but I love what I'm doing today, and I want more of that. So let's strip out all the things that come from here. Let's strip out all the things that are in order to force myself into a certain zone, because I want to love the process, and by loving the process, I know I'm going to be so much more successful. So I strip out all the. What are the things that are keeping you out of that mode, Strip them out, and do what it takes to love what you're up to now, because those are the things you're going to do for long enough to have amazing success. Greetings from Europe. Yeah.
