Good morning.
Today I thought I would give you a beautiful view behind me because this is not a beautiful view. I have not showered this morning. I have not brushed my teeth this morning. You wouldn't want to be hanging out with me this morning. I have not trimmed my beard in quite some time. And the reason I decided to pull out my phone and make a video for you and I look like a crazy person is because this week is my 30th birthday. And in this video I'm going to share with you why I'm not okay. You are closer to your goals than you think. And then I'm going to pitch you on something.
And it looks like this.
I turned 30 as I record this.
It's tomorrow. October 3rd is my 30th birthday. And from the outside, I know a lot of people have come up to.
Me recently and said, I had a.
Big year or you've done so much by the time that you were 30. And they are right to some extent.
I sold a company this year.
I got the biggest check of my life this year. My businesses are growing or up to big things. And at the same time, if I were to focus on them, just like all of us could focus on good things or bad things, I've also had a lot of things go on that have made this a really difficult year. And if we were sitting here on my porch drinking a cup of coffee, my coffee is actually brewing inside right now, and we were to have real talk, I would also tell you that it's been really difficult year. I have been burning the candle at both ends for a long time. I have been going to bed late, working late for many years, and I got a little bit of a diagnosis this year that was essentially, I guess you'd call it medical burnout where my hormone levels indicated that if I didn't get those things under control, I was going to have some problems later on.
And at the same time.
Again, real talk, I went through a separation this year that threw off my course some. And we're still figuring out what that means and looks like and what.
How we're going to raise.
Raise Esther and you know what that means for us.
And at the same time, I have had some other things go on that have thrown me off course. So we're all struggling with junk. We are all struggling with a battle that someone else doesn't know about. We all struggle with self care doubt. We all struggle with feeling like we're.
Not gonna make it, we're not going to.
Reach our full potential. We all have those thoughts. I have those thoughts too. And I know that you have a vision for your life.
You have dreams, you have a type.
Of life that you want to experience. And I just wanted you to know.
That regardless of if you've expressed them out loud or if you keep them.
Private.
You'Re usually closer to those things than you think. You usually are one good habit or one good person, one good introduction, one good idea away from that becoming a reality. But that thing changing often doesn't fix all of the other problems, which is good news and bad news. It's bad news because it puts the responsibility for your life on you. But it's good news because it means that that thing that you desire doesn't have to have this heaviness around what it means for your life.
One more piece of real talk. Because of what has happened more in my personal life than my professional life over the last year, I have done a really poor job of communicating the value and promoting the Capitalism Conference, which is our year end event in December here in Austin, right across the street that way actually. And.
The truth is our ticket sales.
Are right where they were last year, actually ahead of where they were at.
This point last year. But the fact is I have neglected to do a really good job of promoting the event. So I want to take a second and tell you what the heck we do. Because in all reality it's probably the most work and the most stressful thing that we do all year and we do it to break even every year because selfishly, it's one of the biggest up levels that I can get and I can give, which is bringing in serial multimillionaires and billionaires and putting them on stage and having this experience.
I have said publicly I built an eight figure company and I have sold.
For eight figures in the past.
My next goal is nine figures, which is $100 million. So I have brought in mentors and business leaders to be on stage to give the playbook for building those types of companies, as well as people in our community and our students who have built mid seven figure businesses, who come in and mentor students and do breakouts for people who are just getting started or people who are in the infant stages of their businesses.
So we hit all levels of business and we invite our community and those.
Who follow us to come in and join us. And we do it for three days in Austin, Texas at the Capitalism Conference. And I am, I'm telling you all of this because as a result of.
What'S going on in my life I have not done an adequate job of telling you about it, of promoting it, and we are just now today ramping up the promotions and the schedule for really smashing this event. And you're gonna see a lot of promotions for it moving forward. And I wanted to invite you now to just decide to join us this December in Austin, Texas. You can call it a 30th birthday present to me. You can call it my 30th birthday present to you. You can justify it however you would like. But the fact of the matter is I want you to come to Austin and experience this, and I want to be hanging out with you this December. And I don't want to go on a rampage marketing event because I don't have the energy to put together a super long marketing funnel. So I would rather that you just decided to join us and that the community decided, hey, let's just book this thing and go. But I know that we're gonna have to continue to communicate the value because that's how events go. So we've made a few strategic hires of people who are actually better than me at doing this, which feels really good. But I also wanted to give you a heads up that you're going to be seeing us communicating more about it and that I would like for you to just say, hey, I'm going to Austin this December. It really is the best thing that we do all year. And the truth is, I do this because.
A few years ago, I was sitting in a workshop with Dan Sullivan, one of my mentors, and we made.
A list of all the most impactful.
Things that have happened in our careers, things that gave us the big levels up in our lives. And for me, every single one of them came from an event, an experience. And I decided that I wanted to have more of that and I wanted to make that available to our community. Every single person who comes to this door has something happen, has one of these moments happen, those spikes up that they did not expect. They meet a partner, a person, they get an idea, they get that breakthrough they've been looking for. We can't force that to happen, but.
We can absolutely stack the deck. And we stack that by bringing in the speakers and we go in a direction. The direction that we go in is real entrepreneurship, not fake Internet entrepreneurship, but real entrepreneurship that attracts a very high level caliber of person and investor into the room. So a tremendous amount of deal flow and business gets done just by who you meet at the conference on top of what you learn and who you interact with. Plus, I think we're the only people to do this. If you are an elite Access Pass member, you have the opportunity of when a speaker goes off stage into the back room, you get up out of your seat and you go with them and you have an opportunity to interact with them directly. So I made this video for you to let you know a couple things. One, I'm not okay, I don't have it all together. No one has it all together. No one figures everything out, which means that you are closer to your goals than you think. And you're often one insight, one person, one partner, one idea away from achieving that grand vision that you have. And selfishly and selflessly, I guess, at the same time, I want you to come to Austin this December. I've done probably I've done a poorer job than I wouldn't have liked of communicating the value of the Capitalism Conference. And that's changing now that we're really ramping up promotions starting today. And I'd like for you to just say, I'm going to come to Austin. This is December, so before I go into marketing mode, I wanted to just have a real conversation with you to let you know what's been going on and what we're going to be up to over the next few months as we fill out the spots that we have left for the Capitalism Conference. So I will see you in this.
City, hopefully right behind me, right over.
There, this December 7th, 8th and 9th, along with.
Serial billionaire founder of the honest company Kimball Musk, and some other surprises that we haven't revealed yet, as well as the rest of the lineup at the Capitalism Conference. The tribe will be there, our successful students will be there, a bunch of podcast guests will be there, and I can almost guarantee you it'll be the biggest level up that you've had all year. And it will be capping off both a successful and a stressful year for me. And I'm looking forward to having bro hugs and high fives this December 7th, 8th and 9th. Thanks for sticking with this crazy mug on a beautiful, otherwise beautiful morning. Take care of.
