Hey there. Welcome to the WIX Commerce Academy. Thanks for joining us on the first course, how to create an Online Store. My name is Melissa and I'll be one of your instructors here at Wix. We have over 400,000 Wix merchants running and growing their business with Wix, so we'd like to share some of the best practices that we've learned from the merchant community, as well as what we know from running our e commerce platform. Congrats on taking the first step of starting your online business. Whether you're selling your own products or you want to start dropshipping, starting an online store is a great business opportunity. Since you decided to take this course, you probably realize that e commerce business is booming. By 2021, there's expected to be about 5 trillion online shoppers in the US alone, there are over 300 million shoppers online. Plus you can reach a global audience of over 2.14 billion shoppers. Even if you have a brick and mortar business, starting an online store is a big deal since 63% of shoppers begin their shopping experience online. This course is divided into several lessons and will cover everything from your storefront design, adding products, setting up payments, and even managing and fulfilling your orders.
