You. Hi, I'm Margo and I lead e Commerce content at wix. Before you can start focusing on your marketing efforts, you need to ensure you've done the foundational work to set your store up for success. Some of you are already selling online, which is great, but others of you may not be sure exactly when to even push, publish and go live with your site. But that's okay. No matter where you're starting from, this lesson will be a helpful guide so that you can be confident that your store is ready for business and you can start some eagerly awaited marketing activities. In this lesson, you'll learn how to write strong CTAs, update your contact information and store policies, add quality images and videos to your site social proof your site, write meaningful content, offer competitive pricing, offer free shipping, and manage your store on the go. CTAs or calls to action are the actions or the next steps that you want your store visitors to take. It's crucial that you have strong CTAs on the first fold of your homepage so you can move customers from browsing to buying. Some common CTAs that you can use on your homepage include Learn More or perhaps Buy Now. It's a good idea to keep CTA specific so that customers get an idea of exactly where the button they click is going to take them on your site. Your CTAs should also be large enough and stand out in the design of your page in order to make it easier and more enticing for visitors to engage with them. So if we take a look here at rubylove, one of our amazing WIX merchants, we can see here in the first fold that there's a very clear and specific cta. And it's obvious that rubylove wants to get customers to start shopping. Having up to date and clear store policies and contact information on your website really helps to build trust between your business and your customers. Now this is especially important for small or new businesses. Your website should list your business phone number, email address, and physical address of your store, if you have one. Adding your store policies such as return policy and shipping information will also add to customer trust. It helps customers feel safe and therefore they're much more likely to make a purchase. To add your store policies to your site, first go to your Site Dashboard and then click the Store Settings tab. Here. In the Store Policies section, select the policies you'd like to enable and then enter the policy details. You can even create a custom policy for your store which appears in the footer of your checkout page. This is a really great place to add your shipping policy. Just click the create your own custom policy toggle and enter your policy. High quality images and videos are essential not just for the overall look and feel of your website, but also for the product images in your online store. And that's because products with quality images sell more. So consider hiring a pro photographer. Or you can use white backgrounds, good lighting and a tripod to take pictures of your products. You want to have one image featuring the product itself. Keep this image super clean and even take it from multiple angles if it's relevant. You can also add an image of the product being used in real life. Videos are a great way to showcase your product and give your customers a better understanding of its use, so make sure if you add videos that they're high quality. You can also try using the WIX Video Maker to create product videos right on your site. Check out the resources below for more information on the WIX Video Maker. Social proofing is when you add reviews or social channels to your website and it helps potential customers see what other customers are saying about your products and services. It's another really great way to add accountability to your site and boost customer trust and sales. You can do this by adding a social feed to your site or a reviews app like kudobuzz. To add Kudobuzz to your site from your site's dashboard, click on Apps and then go to the WIX app market. Type KudoBuzz reviews in the search bar and select it from the results. Click Add to Site and Add and follow the steps to install your product. Name descriptions and all the content in your store should be accurate, unique and meaningful. This will really create user trust and improve your site's SEO. Also consider adding unique and creative content that's relevant to your audience. For example, rubylove sells period underwear and they have blog posts on their site with related content like Lifestyle Tweaks for better Menstrual health. These blogs can even bring you additional visitors through organic search, but we'll talk more about that later on. In lesson three, your buyers will compare you to others. Therefore you should do your research and see what your competitors are charging for their products. Keep in mind that having a non competitive price is one of the largest barriers to selling. You should check the competition special offers then highlight your benefits and uniqueness. What makes your product special? Is it handmade? Is it personally handled? Do you offer really fast delivery times? For more information on how to choose your pricing strategy, check out lesson three choosing products to sell in the first Wix eCommerce school online course. It's no secret that everyone loves free shipping, but did you know that it can increase conversion by up to 30%? If you can absorb the cost or add it to your product price and still maintain competitive pricing, then you should definitely offer free shipping. If not, try at least shipping above a certain cart price. So for example, if a customer spends over $100, then offer them free shipping. Adding chat to your store is a great way to stay in touch with your customers and manage your store on the go. Also, did you know that business owners who use Wix Chat make up to 300% more sales? To add chat to your store from inside the editor, click Add on the left side, then click click Contact and Forms and select Wix Chat. You can choose one of the chat boxes and drag it onto your site. You can also use the WIX mobile app to chat with potential buyers, update discounts and special offers, and even make quick changes to increase sales. Now that your store is ready for business, check out our next lesson in the course how to get more customers for your online store.
