In this Wix eCommerce lesson, Daniela, an Ecommerce Marketing Editor, walks online store owners through three high‑impact sales‑boosting tools available on the Wix platform. First, she explains the five coupon types Wix supports—fixed‑amount, percentage, free‑shipping, set‑price product, and buy‑X‑get‑Y—showing how to create, activate, deactivate, and promote them via email or social media. Next, she demonstrates how to add, configure, and personalize the Wix Live Chat widget, covering profile/logo setup, welcome text, status toggles, lead‑capture forms for offline mode, and mobile/inbox management, emphasizing that live chat can quadruple sales. Finally, she details the Abandoned Cart Recovery automation: locating the automation in the Store Dashboard, customizing triggers, timing, dynamic values (customer name, product details, images), and optionally attaching a coupon code to re‑engage shoppers, noting that 80 % of carts are abandoned. The lesson ends by encouraging viewers to apply these tactics and move on to the next module on repeat‑shopper strategies.

Now that your business is set up and you've attracted customers to your store, it's time to take action and increase your sales. I'm Daniela Ecommerce Marketing Editor at wix, and in this lesson you'll learn how to boost your sales using coupons, live chat and abandoned cart recovery. Coupons are a great way to introduce new customers to your store, reward and encourage loyal shoppers, and increase sales. With wix, you can create five types of coupons. You can offer a fixed price discount, such as $10 off an item, offer a discount as a percentage like 20% off. Reward your customers with free shipping, offer certain products at a specific price point, such as any T shirt in your store for only $12 and buy X get Y free. So for example, you can buy four cupcakes and get the fifth one free. To create a coupon, go to your site Dashboard. Then under Marketing and SEO you'll find the Coupons tab. Click New Coupon, select the type of coupon you want to offer, complete all the fields and click Create Coupon. Remember, you can deactivate your coupons at any time and reactivate them. If you'd like to offer the same promotion again, let your customers know that you have a special offer using a branded email marketing campaign or social media. To learn more about this, check out the next lesson in this course. All customers need to do to use the coupon is to enter the promo code on the cart or checkout page and click Apply. The discount is then automatically deducted when you add a chat box to your site. You can help your visitors out on the spot and let your visitors know whenever you're online or initiate a chat with anyone browsing your site. You can even reach out and start a conversation with visitors while they're browsing your site. You'll be able to see when there's a shopper on your site, what page they're on and how long they've been browsing. This is a great way to offer product advice or send product suggestions and instant coupons did you know that business owners who use Wix live chat make 4 times more sales? Shoppers like knowing there's a real person behind your site, and with live chat you can give them that personal touch. Here's how to set up a chat to instantly engage site visitors and boost your sales. Go to the editor. Most WIX sites have chat pre installed so you'll see it here on the bottom right. If you don't have it, select Add, then Contact and Forms. Click WIX Chat and Drag a chat box onto your site. To set up your chat box, click Settings, then Settings again. You can add your own profile picture or business logo by clicking Header. This is a great way to build trust and encourage people to chat with you. Now scroll down to add your chatbox title like your personal name or business name and add your welcome text. This is a good place to add your brand personality and invite conversation. You should also set your chat status to tell your visitors when you're on and offline so they know when they can reach you. You can do this by clicking Settings on your chat box and choose to enable or disable live chat with a toggle when your status is set. To enable chat, visitors can chat with you directly from your site. When your status is set to disable chat, you can use a lead capture form to collect visitors information and get back to them as soon as you can. Choose the details your visitors can enter in the form like email name and phone number. You can also customize the forms that your visitors see when you're online or offline. You can manage all your chat conversations either from the WIX mobile app or your inbox. Another great way to increase sales is with Abandoned Cart Recovery. Abandoned Cart Recovery emails are automated emails that you can send to customers when they leave items in their shopping cart without completing a purchase. Smart automations can save you a lot of time once you have them set up. WIX will take care of sending abandoned cart reminders to your customers. This gives you more time to focus on managing other parts of your business like marketing and growth. Did you know that 80% of online shopping carts are abandoned? Recover these sales by sending emails to customers reminding them of items they've left behind. To set up Abandoned Cart Recovery, let's take a look at automations in action using Hip Hip Shop. Go to your WIX Store's Dashboard Customer Management and click Automations. Under Boost your store sales, you'll see automations that are most relevant for online store merchants. Click to set up your Abandoned Cart Recovery automation. Customize your trigger actions and timing and click Activate. When you're setting up your automations, here are a few tips you could use. Add Dynamic Values these are values that will be replaced by details that relate to your specific customers, like their name, the actual product they left behind, and the product image. Dynamic values are great because they make your email more personal. Customers will appreciate and respond to that special touch in your email. Add a coupon code or offer a discount code to encourage your customers to complete the purchase. Congratulations.
