Oh, hey everyone and welcome to this WIX E commerce school. I'm your host Brett Harrelson and today we are joined by two amazing WIX employees. Welcome Asaf and Shaked. Welcome. And also joining us we have two partners, two WIX store partners. Welcome Dania and Simone. So before we jump into this, I really want to know a little bit more about our amazing panelists. So if possible, Assaf, do you want to start off and tell us a little bit about what you do at wix?
Sure.
So my name is Asaf as you said, Bret and I am the head of marketing for WIX Stores, the e commerce platform of wix. We deal with driving mass amount of traffic, converting them into stores and helping them sell online which is now a big thing apparently.
Yes, a very big thing. I want to thank you for being here and joining us. Shaked, what do you do at wix? And thank you for being here as well.
Thank you.
I'm a product manager at WIX Stores, our e commerce section and I'm in charge of creating all the great products you're using.
Oh no, I love it, I love it. That's great. So joining us from the partner community, Dania and Simone, welcome. You too, Dania. Tell us a little bit about you.
Hi guys, I am Dania. I have been a Wix partner for two years now and I've been building websites since 2006. I'm based in South Florida and I'm so happy to be here.
Well, we're glad you are here and thank you for being here. Simone, tell us a little bit about you.
My name is Simone Godwin and I own an agency called Pixel Rabbit. We help all different kinds of companies with marketing from web design, branding, logos, email marketing, social media and more.
Well, first off, that's amazing and I'm glad you're here and I want to thank everybody in the audience and on the panel here for being here. This is really exciting for all of us. So today what we really want to tackle is our goal to talk about or our goal today to talk about is how to optimize your storefront and the buyer journey. And we're going to focus on how to build trust to sell more. Also product page optimization. And then we're going to go to a very special live website review by one of our both of our WIX stores partners which is awesome because they're actually submitted from you, the audience. This is really great. And then of course we'll have a live Q and A towards the end and by the Way, there's people from all over the world. So wherever you are, tell us where you are. We've got all kind of representation here. So let's jump back assaf, let's kick this off. Can you tell us a little bit what is WIX Stores? Can you give us an intro to this?
Absolutely. So Wix Stores is the e commerce solution that WIX offers. It's powered by insights from 500,000 merchants worldwide, really across the globe. We have absolutely incredible businesses selling everything from drones to food businesses to special candles and really cool users. And we talk with them a lot, we understand what their needs are and that's how we improve the platform to offer as much as we can and help them sell more. We've also done a complete product overhaul in 2019 to really create this e commerce platform. And now we include all the must have e commerce features from sales tax automation to shopping cart customization to API so you can connect your fulfillment center with the bigger merchants. And the very cool thing is we're now experiencing super high growth. So as you know, Coronavirus has really changed the world overnight and retail is now going all in on E commerce. So it's super exciting times for us to see the flock of people who are just starting now or you know, for existing stores who have never thought to go all in on E commerce and are now moving their retail business and understanding that people they can a few optimizing hacks. Shaked has a lot of them up her sleeve. So without further ado, Shaked, take it from here.
Thank you very much Asaf. Well, thank you all for joining us today. I'm gonna go through with you on how to build trust in order to sell more on your websites. Then I'll go through the product page optimization and show you some tips and tricks how to create a better product page on your online store. And lastly, we'll move to my dear friends Simone and Dania and we'll review your businesses online. So let's begin. So how do you build trust in order to sell more? So do you remember when back in the day before Coronavirus hit us, we used to go to brick and mortar shops and look for products that we want to buy. Do you remember the experience where you had a salesperson that you can talk with, ask questions, you're familiar with the brand usually that you go into and there is a place where you can come back if something is wrong or you need to change whatever you bought. Well, you need to create all this same atmosphere that you have on your brick and mortar store inside your online store. And in order to do that, you need to build trust. So trust is ultimately the most important thing can determine the success of your online business. You must build trust so your customers will come back, they will love your brand and they will trust your brand. So how are we going to do that? So first of all, I think we will never go into a shop that doesn't look good. So your online shop design is super important. You need to invest a lot less than you would have if you had a brick and mortar store. So you just need to have a great design on your shelf, have good content, both visual and written content on your store, and avoid visual overload because you don't want to have too many images that are cluttered and something looks too busy for you to not understand what is going on. Let's go to the next important thing we build trust in information and details. When you go to a new online store, you need to know what is the product and you need as much information as possible. So let's say for your product page you need a lot of product images. All of them must be high quality images. You can now use, by the way, the WIX Photo Studio which allows you to enhance your images and make sure they look sharp and beautiful. Also use a scale. Compare your product to a real life product that makes sense for your users. So if it's a ring, put it next to a coin or if it's something in the size of a hand, put it on a hand. Also make sure that you use a lifestyle image. So you can see here on the right image we have someone taking the bag with her and I see her in yoga, fitness kind of mode. So I can relate to her. I can tell myself that if I'm buying this bag I will experience this lifestyle of being active and going and working out. This will help customers to relate to the product and will drive them into buying it ultimately. And lastly, give all the relevant details on your product. So make sure you don't overload with too much information. But information is very important. So describe the product, what it is made of, what's the size and what is the material and everything necessary for your customers to complete the order. Next. This is one of my favorite pages. Because this page tells your story, your business story. The About Us page should give all the information and also showcase you and your business. And display, if possible, display any visual of your business. Let's say you working on your products and if you have a special story, if you employ someone that you think should be displayed here. Make sure you tell everything that will convince someone to buy. I know that I like to know who am I buying from. This is why we usually go back to brands that we are familiar with because we know them, we know the story, we know who they are working with and what they are doing. So make sure to display it in the about us page. Next, the contact information page. This is super important. You want to know where is this business from? Where do you stay? What's your phone number? What's your email address? Do you have a physical address? If so, take a picture or a photo of your of your brick and mortar store and display it on your contact information. Also link to your social media pages. It's very important to not only contact you through the phone number or email, people would like to send you a message via messenger or something like that. We also have another feature on wix where you can add a chat to your site so customers can send you live messages and you can answer them right back. So this is another great of contacting your customers. Like another super important FAQ page, the Frequently Asked Questions. This is where most of your customers will come to find out if they can buy your products. So they will look for questions like do you sell to my region? Do you ship there? Do you take extra charges? What is your return policy? Make sure to have clear and simple language when you write these questions and be precise on all the information that you want your customers to know about. Another super important especially these days, social proofing and testimonials. Your customers are probably coming from Instagram or Facebook or whatever social media out there. So make sure to display it on your website. If you can ask them to send you images of them using your products. As you can see here on the right, make sure to display it. This will make your customers feel more comfortable when they see that other customers use your products and they're so happy using them that they are actually sharing with you what it feels like to use it. Show your social media feeds, you have these add ons and wix so just display it right there on your main page. And lastly and I think it's very important when you use testimonials and reviews, don't fake them. Don't write your own reviews. People know once they see a fake review they know that you are rating yourself and it's not a natural person. So don't do that. Don't have reviews if you don't have them, but don't fake them. So this was Our short introduction on how to build trust on your online store. I would like to move forward to one of the most important pages on your online store. And this is the product page. So let's go through it. So the product page is where you should display all the information of the product that you are about to sell. This is, as I said, the most important page on your site. Because if you're going to advertise it, this is probably where your customers will land. They will go straight to your product page. This will also appear on Google, so you need to make sure that everything written inside is something that Google Crawler can help them find it. So you need to have the best product page as possible. And I want to show you what are new products that can help you build a better product page. So let's start with one of our latest products, the Wishlist. The wish list is a heart button which you can see right here on the right that allows your customers to save their favorite items for later. This builds loyalty and customer retention, meaning your customers will come back to a site where they save their favorite products. They will probably want to view them again and buy them once they've decided to do that. We also made it easy for them to purchase. So in their Wishlist page, once they collected all the products, they can now add products to cart straight from the Wishlist and continue seamlessly through the checkout process. So how do you add it to your site? So just go to your product page, click on Settings and inside your product page settings you'll see a new tab, the Wish list tab. Once you go to the wishes tab you just need to enable it and then you have both the heart button and the page added to your site. The page will be added to your members area and if you don't have one, it will be installed with your wish list and then customers can go there and look at their My Wish list, their Wish list tab. I would like to share with you a cool trick that I've created from my own site. I've added a heart icon at the top of my page, at the header of my page and I linked it to my wishlist page. So once customers add all their favorite products, they can just click on the heart at the top of the page and access it directly without going to the members area and looking at it from there. So I highly recommend adding this icon. Of course you can choose whatever icon you want. I chose this one because this one is the best fit for my site. Next, one of the greatest products that I highly recommend using is the Buy now product. The Buy now allows customers to skip the cart and go straight to checkout with the product they are viewing right now. This is the best button to use if you know that your customers usually buy a single product or it's a very expensive product so they'll probably buy only one and you want to make sure that they hurry up to the checkout and finish as fast as possible. I think it's very important on most sites. I've seen it also on low prices sites and it works very well. Hopefully it will increase your conversion rate. So how do you add your Buy now to your site? So same as Wishlist, you go to your product page Settings, click on the Settings and then go to the Settings tab and when you scroll down you can see the Buy now button. By the way, you can have the Buy now button separately from the Add to Cart button. So if you want to have only the Buy now button, it's possible. Just turn off your Add to Cart button and stay with the Buy Now. I would recommend doing so if you have a single product on your page and not multiple products because then you won't allow your customers to add more than one product. Next this is one of my favorite products. This is the Related Product gallery. As you can see at the bottom of the page here, on my product page I have a slider gallery that has all the redundant products to my main product. I really love this gallery because it allows my customers to discover more products. They might have come for the spinning toy but now they can see that I have a kit for toolbox or maybe xylophone on my site and they can decide to add it to their cart. And the new cool feature inside the Related Products gallery is the option to add to cart straight from the the gallery so they don't need to leave the product site. The product page they are already in and they could just add it to the cart, add multiple products if they want and continue to have a great experience while purchasing on your site. So I would highly recommend using it always. I don't think there is a single site for it. Maybe if you have only one product I wouldn't recommend. But if you have multiple products on your site, use has a smart mechanism behind it. You don't need to do much, just plug and play. Drag it on your site and it will work immediately. My recommendation here is just make sure you have collections on your site, meaning you have groups of products that are from specific types so the related products will be related to what they are viewing right now and not something detached completely from the experience they are having. And the most important thing is how do you edit? So we have in our store elements, just inside the add panel you have the related product gallery. Also, if you already have a slider gallery on your site, the one above, the related product gallery, you can turn a switch on and switch between the slider product gallery and the related product gallery. So the difference between them will be the displayed products. The related one is a smart gallery while the slider gallery is the one where you can choose whatever collection you want to display on your own. So that's it from me today. I was happy to share with you all these latest features and I hope it will help you.
So I want to say thank you. Shaket. I mean, this is. It seems like there's a lot that goes into this. So speaking, spending a little time and talking about it I think really helps moving into this. I think it's really important also to kind of see maybe a live version of this. And Dania, you've selected some sites to review and sort of. So we can go through them together as a live sort of play by play. Tell us a little bit about what you've selected for us to look at today.
Okay, So I selected two websites. I selected takeaim.com and you had me@aloko.com.
perfect. Perfect. So if it's okay, will you share your screen and show us those sites?
Sure. I'm gonna start with takeaim.com.
Perfect.
Okay, so here we are@takeaim.com. i absolutely love the video Entrance video is like the best way to go when it comes to really making an impact on the user when they land on your page. So immediately when I look at this video, I'm looking at the menu above it. And the first quick and easy fix is that we want to change the word online store in the menu to shop. Because that's what I came here to do, is to shop. So that's very nice, simple, clean, short words. And that looks even better in the mobile menu than having, you know, online store. So let's keep it going. Scrolling down. So here it looks like what's going to be sold as apparel and it looks like we're right. So if I'm coming here to shop, what I want to see immediately after the video is the actual products. Because the video got me so pumped, so excited. So it's like, okay, well I'm ready to spend my money, you know, so I don't necessarily want to see the pictures of the models, I think it'd be much more effective to actually move that product up and switch it out.
So just a simple move. I want to understand this is simple move of that, of the product displaced right there. You think that's a huge impact. That's such a small move. That's incredible. What good insights. I wouldn't have thought of that.
Yes, moving that. And it's really easy. You know, it looks like the strip, the product is on a strip. So all we have to do is just drag that strip up and then pull the strip down. So we're gonna keep going here. And I'm not clear about what's being sold because I haven't learned yet what Take Aim is about. You know, who are we aiming at here? Who's the customer? Is it a person who loves fitness or is it someone who likes the lifestyle? So let's just keep scrolling down. Hopefully I'll find out something about the company. And so far I haven't seen that just yet. So let's keep it going. I'm actually going to head on over to the, to the store, to the online store and see what we have going on here. So it looks like we're selling apparel based on the front page. I saw a lot of movement, a lot of activity. So I'm not really clear yet if this is going to be fitness apparel or if this is going to be lounge casual lifestyle apparel. So let's just click on a product, a swim cap here and let's take a look closer look at this page. Now, something that was interesting to me here is that there are great photos, the staging, you know, you see it's for active, but I don't see any descriptions. And for this product in particular, it's very important to have the details there. Swim caps are usually made out of latex. So if there's a customer who has an allergy to latex, you know, you want to make that clear to them. Just so you don't get in any hot water with your product causing any reaction. So listing what the product is made of, whether it be silicone or latex, that would be very important here to put into the details. What I do love about the product page here is the add to bag is in green, which is a great indicator because green means go. So yeah, I'm going to add this to my bag. That's great. Positive reinforcement psychologically. So so far that's doing great. So let's head on over to the contact page and you're here in Florida, just like me. Awesome. And there's a Google map. Now, I wouldn't recommend a Google map specifically because it seems that this business has a PO Box and not a physical address. So you wouldn't want people to like, use this map to try to find your location because they may be asking for the products. I also don't see any customer service actions. Since this is an online store, it's super important that you list like a return policy, a shipping policy, and the best way to get in contact with you should there be an issue with the order. Overall, this site has great images, but what it needs is a little bit more substance. I need to know who you're aiming at, who the company is, what the company stands for, and who right here is where. I'm just a tiny bit confused because you see, there's a lot of action which makes me feel like, you know, this is athletic apparel to be worn in the gym. But when I get here, you know, I see people in hoodies on the beach, which kind of can be like an oxymoron because, you know, if you're in Florida like me, it gets pretty hot down here, and I don't know if I want to wear this hoodie outside. So positioning your product would go so much would take your business in the upward motion. You'll get a lot more sales if you can position this product by, you know, accurately describing who you're selling this product to and how it fits into their life and the benefits of this all, you know. So overall, visually, it's a very strong site. The side loads quickly. I can find you if I need to find you, but there are things that I need to find out more about your product before I could shop here.
That all makes a lot of sense, Daniel. And I like a lot of the simplistic things that you've actually recommended. Just moving the strip up like little things like that. And even making a Green Buy now button. I would not even. I would have. As a non expert at this, I would have never known to do that.
Yes, that's great. Now, it's not here on this page, but I thought it was on all products. But I believe that green Buy now button is a great psychological indicator because I love to shop online. And if someone's giving me the green light to spend the money and everything else is there, I'm gonna go straight on ahead and do that.
Yes, I'm afraid I'm a victim of that as well.
Awesome. So should I head on, jump on over to the second side or should we stay on this one and discuss some more?
Let's check. Let's jump to the next one. Now, the next one you chose, tell us a little bit about that site.
Okay, so this site you had me at Alo Co sells live plants, succulents. And I love the overall look of this site. I'm a little biased because pink is my favorite color. However, this site is laid out beautifully. So you know, this will be pretty quick in terms of a critique because there's a lot of great things happening on this site. Right? So you guys didn't see this, but when I first loaded this page, there was a pop up that came up with a coupon. And on this coupon it had a timer for five minutes. It's like, look, you've got five minutes to save some money, which is great. Fomo, who doesn't want to save money? And you know, I would even dare putting down that timer to one minute. So it puts even more urgency on people leaving that email address. That was a very great strategy. So here we're going to keep scrolling down. And overall, I love the way that the products are merchandise, the look and feel. It's very feminine, it's very cheerful and optimistic. And as we scroll down here, I would recommend swapping out that About Us section. I would actually have a standalone About Us page so we can learn a little bit more about the founder and their story. But I believe right here what would be more effective is actually either a testimonial of some sort or review. Because if I could shop here, when I'm coming to shop, I want to make sure that before I hand you my money. Well, did it work well for someone else? Did someone else love the succulent as much as I'm going to love the succulent? And why do they. That's why testimonials are just so effective. And we continue to scroll and I see here this headline we can use. Just tweak it a little bit because what's happening here is a double call to action. And what a call to action is is what you want someone to do when they discover what your product is. So Buy Online now is actually the same as Shop now, you know, so we want to have a stronger headline. Your headline needs to be the what what are we buying? The so what, Just maybe a sentence or two about the product and the now what, which would be your call to action. Now I want you to shoot.
That's another great tip. Another great tip.
The what the so what and the now what? That's a very effective way for you to get increased conversions on your website. When you lay out the headline, you know, small paragraph of text and that button at the bottom just to click through to get that conversion. So now we scroll here, special orders and requests. That's actually a great, that's a contact form reverse engineered, which is great to, you know, get some leads on there as well. And I do love that, you know this, this WIX user has left their address who's also in Florida. It's like Florida in the house left their address in the footer section of the website. Because the footer shows up on every single page, which is so important because not everyone lands on the homepage when they get to your website. Right. Sometimes they come through on the about page, a blog page. So having your address in the footer is great practice here. So let's take it on over to the shop. And if it's one thing I love about the shop is the way that the page now as I hover, you do have a secondary image. It's best practice that once you have your merchandise, products, it's good to have your products in a plain white backdrop so people can focus on the details. I like to put smaller products like this in a light box. It's a very low investment. You can get them, you can grab them online. And what it is, it's an all white box with an LED light on the inside. You can put your product in and you'll get the best lighting for great photos so people can focus more on the product and not so much of what's happening in the background. There's a lot of good things happening here on this product page. You know, you can customize and there's a lot of details about the product. So so far I have no complaints. So the subscription, this page for this particular website I believe is equally important as the homepage because you know, when you get a subscription from someone as a business owner, you can determine your income for months, you know. So with that said, this page, it's really important to put some TLC into this page. Right now it's looking like it's just a little bit on the plain side and that's okay because less is more. You actually don't want to overburden the page. But it's 20 bucks a month for a succulent and plants make me feel great when I'm in the presence and you get two of them. And my favorite feature, my favorite benefit of this subscription is that shipping is included. I want you to use some shopper psychology here. And since shipping is included into that $20, why don't we just say free shipping? I love free shipping. When items are free ship ships for free. That sometimes determines if I'm going to purchase it or not. Right? The subscription box is free shipping. You get two succulents and how to care for your succulents. Everything happiness in a box. Because that's going to make you feel good as soon as you open it because you didn't pay for it to get here. So that's all I have to say about this website. Overall, it's a great website. It's visually stunning. It's absolutely beautiful. And I love the product that you're selling.
So I agree. I think it's a very good looking site and I love your commentary on a lot of this. Specifically when you're talking about, I mean, you dropped a lot of really amazing nuggets here and I like your subscription idea. Free shipping.
It's, it's.
Who doesn't love free shipping? You're right now. And I want to thank you for those amazing tips. Dania and I know everybody watching is really enjoying this. By the way, if you're asking questions, we will have a live Q and A. I will circle back to those. So, Simone, you've also selected some sites to look at. Can you tell us a little bit about what you plan to showcase?
Yes.
Thank you, Brent. I have two sites. They're both in the clothing apparel category.
And.
And I think it's going to be kind of a nice juxtaposition because they're very different and they're marketed differently, but they both use good techniques for selling. So I'm going to share my screen with you if that's okay.
Perfect. Thank you.
All right.
Okay.
So the first one is called My tribe Tea. And right off the bat you can kind of tell what it's about. Tea. They're going to sell T shirts and my tribe kind of tells you that it's about communities. It's not just like white T shirts for anybody. And I love this right here. Teas for every tribe. Right off the bat, I already feel like a sense of community and that I belong and that I get this tea that there's going to be somebody else out there like and I have an instant friend, basically. I like this first slider. It has a very strong branded feel. I would like to see a little bit more information about the company and maybe some products. Like it's a little too long for me to keep scrolling. I'm kind of on taking Dania's advice about switching some things a little bit higher. I think we could pull the. Pull the products up a little bit higher and that would help. This section here, I've got a little bit of a scrolly bar or I'm hitting some white section over here. And I would love to see this shirt on the products against maybe a little bit brighter background. I think maybe they might have done the gray on purpose. I'm not sure. But to pull it down a little bit from the lines of the graphic above, to me it kind of blends a little bit too much. I can't really tell where the graphic ends and where the products start. So I'd like to see a little bit more space in between there. The other thing that I love about this site is the pop ups that pop up in the left corner. That right there, it tells you when someone bought something, which is great. Kind of like, oh, there's activity on here. I love that the profits again, they're telling you information about the company just from the products and also the label on here I'd still like to see like a little sentence or two a little bit more about who they are, but otherwise it's a really clean, simple, like you got the point of what they're trying to do. Clicking on Shop. I really like the drop down with the different categories. Shiro's Heroes, Ministry of Pop Culture. We were born in the 80s. You can click. Let's click there. And it kind of gives you an idea. You know, here's the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles going to. Let's go to something a little bit more relevant to our time. You know, I think the product is also a little bit emotional with everything that's going on. So I really like the clean simplicity of it. I'd like when we click into the.
Prof.
Into the products, we get a lot of information and that's great. So kind of touching on the points mentioned in the PowerPoint talking about trust. We kind of can check off that button because we see the little pop
up with people buying it.
And if it wasn't a trustworthy place, there wouldn't be pop ups constantly going, you know, it looks good. I walk into the store, you know, simple, clean. We have information, we have details. As far as scaling, we have a sizing chart. I would love to see a couple more product pictures and also a picture on someone. I really like how they have caring for your T shirt. They have instructions There because it also tells you a little bit about the fabric. If it's your, you know, regular fabric, they wouldn't have kind of all of those instructions for how to care for it. Which makes me feel like it's a higher quality shirt and therefore if it's a higher quality, I'm more likely to pay more for it. An edit on this page is that I would like to see the setting on the product page to not truncate the description to go ahead and show the full description. I think with the sizing chart bringing the right hand side down a little bit longer, it makes sense to balance it out and not have this white space here. So I would show. Go ahead and show all the text on here. I like the links to the education fund in here. They lots of information. I like that Again, I'd like to see somebody in the shirt
and then
they have a buy now button and the add to cart button which also helps me shop faster. I would say I'm a little confused. I think that looks like a peach on the add to cart button and then they had flames on the other buttons. I know Ahmad was in Georgia and considering I'm in Atlanta, it makes me think that there's something, I mean I make it personal. So I think Peaches, Georgia peach that there's something related to Georgia in there. And I like how they call it a journal up here at the top to give some more information. And I like the dropdown for about that has their contact, their faq, their sizing and their store policy overall and they have their related tribes down here. I feel like this has got a clear message. I trust them. It looks good. I'd like to know maybe a little bit more about them. When I go down to the bottom, I see this thing called about us and collaborations. So I guess I'm a little confused on like they have about with different dropdowns up here than they have down here. So I'd like to kind of see that line up just to give me, you know, maybe some faces and some social media feeds in there just to give me a little bit more
feel
for the brand and maybe seeing some users in the actual shirts. I think that would help create a sense of community.
So Simone, let me. I know you've got another site you want to show but before we jump to that Shaketa, I really want to jump in here and ask you a question. There's a lot of buzz right now from those who are watching of how to get these pop ups and there's A lot those questions. Can you tell us what this right there, what that pop up is?
Yeah. Well, this pop up is an app called Sales Pop. You can find it in the app market. So head on in there and just search for salespop. This will allow your customers to see what's recently been bought on your site. So I highly recommend using it. As Simone mentioned before, this is the best kind of testimonial and social proof that you'll ever need because you know someone is buying.
Yeah.
Yes, that's. Yes.
Please let me jump in for a second. I want to say that we are seeing like this is both this and you had me at Ello are very high level of stores. Especially if you had me at Ello, you could really sense, like, the visual ownership and here, the, you know, the level of content here is insanely high. You can really sense that they know exactly, exactly who their audience is and how to communicate with them. The microcopy is dead on, if you ask me. Like, I can certainly relate to everything they're selling here and the 80s T shirts. I really love how the content is structured and you sort of feel it in every corner of this online store. So I think. I'm not sure, like, if it's reasonable to expect any store to have this kind of content, but you really don't have to. I mean, there are different ways to generate trust and to deliver your message and have stopping power, even if you don't have the visuals from you had me allo or this kind of content.
Those are. Those are great points. Thank you. So, Simone, I know you've got another one that you really want to jump to. And by the way, if you're asking questions, I'm going to circle back in a minute and try to get your questions asked. For those of you who are asking, sorry, Simone, this is really exciting. I think everybody was really into the end of the pop up there.
Yes, yes. That's one of the reasons that we featured this one because we have some cool things on here. Okay, now moving on to this one. It also has some neat features, but they're slightly different. So right off the bat on the homepage, we get the get your name on the list and save 10% on your first order. So that's an incentive to give your email address. And therefore, once we get your email address, then we have you for marketing and promotions and there's all kinds of
fun stuff we can do after that.
This site actually started as just a corporate face for the company, as you can see, kind of Right here, this is what I call a trust bar. So immediately establishing trust, this company sells to Walgreens CVS, the 7 11s and the online store was kind of a second thought for them. And with the COVID and the destruction of many of these convenience stores, their online store has become a huge focus and is really keeping the company going. I know from the CEO that they have done amazing things to keep all of their employees staffed throughout this whole time. I mean they're a great company. So again, we have your trust bar here. These products we mixed in drop shipping for this company. So we had some holes in their supply chain management. And so we added the modalist app to this website and we were able to fill in holes in their product catalog. They had a lot of winter products on here and as summer came we kind of had some holes with products. So we kind of used the drop shipping to fill in those holes. The shorts being one of the products. So we don't have the add to cart button immediately on here, but we do have a quick view which is nice clicking. Let's go with something relevant. Clicking these masks here we show a sale which promotes the product. We have the add to cart button. We have the wish list here we have the social share which makes it easy for people to share this item. We just added Kudobuzz to this website so we don't have any reviews yet. But Kudobuzz was recently added so that we can again build trust with product reviews. And we have the related products at the bottom. And most of the website is kind of black and white and so we use the blue buttons for add to cart to call out to call some attention. Kind of like what Danny was saying, using the green, green means go on there. One thing I would like to see this site use more is social media connecting social media showing users using the product. Another thing I do know, I'd also like to see more categories broken down on the website. Instead of just a shop page, where the main shop page doesn't really have the categories broken down here, the women's page does. So you can sort it by price and colors and styles and size which I really like.
So
one thing you'll see on this site, which I think the ALO site did very well, was their consistency in images. We were able to use the images from the drop shipper to kind of start blending in with their product images and the company shipped products and got professional photography. So you can see these socks on a person. Gives a lot more perspective than just Some socks laying on the ground. I actually received the products and when I saw them I was like, whoa, this is so different than what I thought from the pictures. And luckily I was happily surprised. But if it had been the other way I would have been really disappointed. So I think it's really important to get, if you're going to have products to get them on there. So that is one thing that's currently being added to this website. But I think the images look consistent. They have a lot of features. The wish list sharing. They've utilized the Facebook ads through Wix and had very high return on investment for those ads, which is great. They've been able to share between the company and friends and networking share posts and that's done amazing things. It just, you know, you don't have to have paid advertisements to get traffic as long as you're, you know, it was a culmination of having people share things and wix's smart Facebook ads on there that really created like a complete buzz. I think that's the way to kind of go at sales for these sites, a multifaceted approach. And again, I'm really hoping that the reviews will help with this, with the products now that we have better pictures too.
Well, those are really, I think some incredibly amazing tips and a very thorough site review. And I think this is very valuable for those who are attending. I'd like to, if it's okay, Simone, I really, I want to spend a little time and ask some questions and have a roundtable section. So I guess if you're going to. So let's go back to this. Let's back up just a little bit now. Shaked. We've looked at some sites and there's a lot of great tips of kind of how to do it. But theoretically, let me ask you a specific question, a product question is is there maybe something here that maybe some people don't know that WIX Stores has recently added or a feature that's really powerful that you think should be kind of brought to light here?
Yes, absolutely. We just released the currency converter option where you can add a drop down to your site with multiple currencies and display them on your site. This is very important for international sites looking to display more than single currency. So I would highly recommend adding it. You can find it in the ad panel where you can find all your galleries. So you can scroll down and see the currency converter dropdown. Just drag it to your header or to your gallery page and it will affect your whole site. Of course And I think if you're going global, people want to know what currency, what is the price in their own currency when they buy. So this is one great product that we just recently released and I went through some of the great new products like the add to cart. Oh, actually I didn't go through the add to cart from gallery, it was in the slider gallery. So I acted like it's obvious. But I think it's very important to have the option, especially for all the new supermarkets opening up everywhere right now, to have the add to cart options straight from a gallery and allowing customers to just add whatever they want. We've seen it in the slider gallery inside the product page. So we have it both on Slider and on the grid gallery in WIX stores. Yeah, exactly. Just like we see here now.
So that's interesting. And I see a lot of other questions coming from and a lot of people are asking how to add a search bar. Is it possible to search the store? Is that possible?
Yes, this is possible. You can add a search bar from your ad panel as you can see here as well on this website. And the search will help your customers to find everything on your site and more specifically also products. So if they are looking for a specific product, they will find it. I would consider having it maybe also on the top on the header over the site and not just the footer. Both of them are great, by the way.
That's amazing. We're gonna, for those of you who are just joining us, we're moving into the Q and A section. I'm going to start rapid firing some questions, but I'm going to toss one real quick to Dania. Can you tell us when you, when you, with your clients you do this, you manage a lot. So what is one of the most common challenges that you see from your clients when you're helping them manage their store?
That's a great question, Brett, because there's more than one challenge.
Actually,
actually keeping the actual products organized is a challenge for some, especially if some of my clients use the WIX mobile app and they just upload the picture straight from the phone, straight into the WIX stores. And these images aren't compressed and they become disorganized because they're not being categorized correctly. I recommend using going back through your items and updating them and keeping everything accurate, especially SKU numbers, quantities, that's a huge, huge one. And as well as the categories. So when you're using widgets like the related products or if you have a certain sort of Collection. If you're selling collections, everything can be organized and products aren't misplaced.
Amazing. I'm going to ask two more, then I'm jumping rapid fire from our viewers. And Assaf, I'm going to throw this one one to you and then I'm coming back to you, Simone. So, Assaf, we talk a lot and Dania and Simone have both talked about product descriptions. And my question to you is, what is a good product description? Can you give me a tip or us a tip on how to write a good product description?
I don't think there's a single way to do it. I think you have to have plenty of information. And we saw it in the examples before that the good product pages had a lot of information. It starts from the technical stuff, like the material, through shipping information and obviously include user reviews and user images. There are some reviews that are contextual only or text only, and some five stars or something, but also show actual users who are using it. We see it a lot on Amazon and other marketplaces as well, so I think those are great as well. However, as we add more information, you will encounter a new challenge, which is how to structure that content. There are some ways to do it, but in essence it has to be very easily read. So every section should be very clear. What is this section about? Is it product reviews? Is it the materials? Is it shipping information? Give a good headline, like clear, nothing special. No need to, you know, to be the best writer ever to put a good clear header there. And I think once you structure it, obviously go over it on mobile so you can see how the user experience is going to be, because most shoppers will visit you from their mobile phone. So it's always important not to forget that part. We typically spend a lot of time on the desktop version and then only like in the last minute we do the mobile. So no, start mobile first. Think like the shoppers think. And especially when you write the product descriptions and the product page, make sure to go over it from your mobile phone.
That makes a lot of sense. And a lot of the things you were saying, all the panelists were just nodding their heads, you know, in agreement to it. So clearly everybody's in agreement with what you're saying. So, Simone, and I'm about to start rapid firing. So if you've had, if you've asked a question or you want to ask a question, now's the time. So, Simone, here's a question for you. When creating a store, what's the most. And you spend a lot of Time, specifically in the shopping area. So this is a really good question for you. What's one thing that we should pay attention to when creating that online store place? What's maybe something to focus on? I'll let you sort of take that where you want to.
I think we've touched on a lot of those areas Dania mentioned. Organizing the products, that's huge. Making sure that your users know what they're shopping to help them. The faster that we can get the right product in front of the right user, the better. Whether that be accurate descriptions, good pictures, having multiple pictures, the reviews. If I had to pick one thing, I would just say a nice clean layout and organized is the best place to start. Really, I think. I know we've been saying details, details, details, but I'm going to kind of flip that a little bit and say less is more. If you don't have. If you don't have the information or you don't have the quality pictures, I would rather just see something simple with a good explanation rather than like a bunch of unprofessional photos.
So I think that's a lot of good one.
Thank you. Thank you. Okay, so we have lots and lots of questions here. I'm going to rapid fire some of these. I'm tossing these to the team. Raise your hand. Go for it.
Here we go.
Is it possible to see larger product images on mobile? Now I did see. I think it was you, Simone, when you were showing the product page, I thought I saw a zoom or. I'm going to. That's to the team, though. How do you see larger product images on mobile?
Let me, let me, let me take it, take it. Okay, so we actually released it like this week, the option to enlarge images on your mobile phone. So this is a shout out to my team working on it. So now you can see it on all WIX sites on, of course, on all online stores on your mobile phone. Just tap and pinch and do whatever you want. The image is going to be enlarged.
Perfect.
Thank you. Next up, how can we add product reviews?
I can take that one.
Go for it.
Well, there's a couple different ways, but the easiest way is to go to the app market and find kudobuilders and add that to your website. Kudobuzz has a lot of different settings on the back end. So you can do something simple. You can make it for products it can connect to social, you can have. On the last site I reviewed, MTI site, there's an actual bar that says reviews on the Website so you can review the website and get feedback. So that's the easiest way to get
product reviews for a website.
Awesome. Thank you. Lots of really great questions coming in. So where do you recommend adding the shipping description when people are shopping? Go for it, Dania.
I recommend shipping should be in multiple places, should be on the product page. It should be in the footer, especially the footer, because the footer shows up every single page. And it should be a standalone page that lists all your shipping options as well.
Perfect. Thank you. Another great. Another great question here, and I think we touched on this. What is the best way to make a first impression, a good first impression when a customer, potential customer, lands on your site? That's a tough one. Although it kind of. Go for it, Daniel, and then I'll come back to you.
There's more than one. There's more than one way. But, you know, image is everything, right? Pictures are worth a thousand words. So if a thousand of those words could be, wow, oh, my gosh, this looks great. You want to have great product images.
On the product page, for sure. We want to have, like, a strong visual because we react emotionally to it. However, not all shoppers are going to land directly on your product page. So if they're landing on your homepage, make sure there is clarity of concept. So it's like 100% clear what you're offering in one second. We have seen some of the sites that we saw today. One of them had an incredible, a lot of stopping power with that video. But that video was sort of like, I don't know, I felt like something about military. So it was a great video and I was, like, engaged with it, but it wasn't in line with what the actual offering was. So make sure that that visual, be it a video or an image or anything else, is 100% aligned with what you're going to offer because you don't want to set the wrong expectation that reduces the amount of trust that I'm willing to give. And online shoppers do not hand out the trust easily. So don't go and waste it.
Great tip.
Oh, I love this. Go ahead, Simone. And then we're going to circle back to Danya. Go ahead.
I think great product images, hitting your target audience, if you're going for an older demographic, making sure that the text is readable and not too many moving parts and that it loads quite quickly. Yes, we love videos, but if it's going to take a long time to load, then maybe we shorten the video or we put It a little bit further down the page. But as long as you have like a quick, quick loading, clear message that catches my attention and then give me what to do. I think Dania said this already. Sorry to pull on your ideas, but, you know, she said, you know, what's the product? Why, like, what do you want me to do? Why? And then what do I do now? And so I think giving somebody like, hey, here's our product. It's awesome. It's gonna make you happy. Buy it now. You know, putting that kind of message on there really gives people something to do immediately.
Go ahead and follow up on that, Danya.
I would say so we've all been focusing on the actual store itself, but what about making that experience to your store just pleasant and easy to do? One of my favorite, most impressive things that I've seen stores apply is that people have been integrating their WIX stores with their Instagram feed. So on Instagram, when you're already taking amazing photos, not only is it product photos, there's merchandising, right? Because there's usually a person, they're having a great time time with this product, you click that dot and it shoots you straight into the WIX stores. And you can check out without leaving the Instagram app. Now, that is pretty impressive for me, per se, where I don't have to go to the store to shop for you. I can always shop with you. No matter where I'm at, where I am with you. So making that buyer journey, you know, where there's not even a journey, it's just, take my money now I'm on Instagram. This looks great. Take the money and go. That's a really great, great function.
And on the flip side to that, WIX has added from the Instagram feed, you can add custom links in there. So if you show a really cool product, you can actually link directly to that product page. So then I don't have to. The most annoying thing is you see something cool on a website and you can't find it to buy it. I've had that happen before. It's so frustrating. But in the Instagram feed, you can show all your cool stuff that you're already spending tons of time taking those great pictures, and now you can add a link straight to the shop page. That's an awesome idea.
Well, that was actually a question that someone just asked. Is it? And I guess the answer is yes. Can you add a Buy now button at your homepage that goes straight into the checkout?
Right.
So the answer to that is yes. I guess I'm asking the panelists. I don't know anything.
Yes.
The answer is yes.
Hard yes.
Yeah, Hard yes.
Okay.
Store elements. You can find an add to cart button.
Perfect. So we're a little over on time, but we had such great insights from our panelists. I want to thank everybody for coming and attending, and I want to have a special thanks to our partners for being here and WIX as well. And thank you for everything. And thank you all for being here. This has been really amazing. So I want to say thanks and until next time, thank you. Bye, everyone.
