In this short interview segment recorded at the Uptown Club, Belle Phénomène introduces herself as a burlesque performer, singer, and model, and shares her website bellp.com. She reflects on the challenge of defining burlesque, noting that different performers offer varied interpretations, and emphasizes how the art form energizes and uplifts her. The conversation highlights her personal connection to burlesque and sets the stage for discussing how she built her online presence without coding knowledge, using Wix.
Ladies and gentlemen, gracing the stage here at the Uptown Club, it's Belle Phenomena.
My name is Belle Phenomenon. My website is bellp.com I'm a burlesque performer, singer and model. Describing what burlesque is is a really hard thing. If you ask five different burlesque performers, they'll probably give you five different answers on what is burlesque? And this could be quite. It's quite interesting, but it's evolved. As soon as I get there, I just get, like, lots and lots of energy. Makes me feel good.
It's a nice night out.
A friend of mine recommended wix and I realized I needed a website to put on the business card so that people had somewhere to go to find out about me and my shows. There comes a point in your career where you realize you need a website. When I first went into wix, I'd looked at another site before and I just found the template study really generic and hard to use. But the thing with WIX is that all their templates are set up like a website. They look like an existing website. So it's really easy to see how it works and how you could put it together. But I know nothing about making websites. I don't know how to code. I didn't know how to get a domain. I made it all myself and people were really pleased. They thought it was really attractive.
