Ellie and Emma founded Estudia Tel Aviv, a DIY makerspace in Israel, after realizing people wanted to make things but lacked tools and space at home. They built their site on Wix and were surprised how easy it was to create a professional-looking website and online store with no technical background.

Hi, I'm Ellie. And I'm Emma. And we're the creators of Estudia Tel Aviv's Do It
Yourself Workspace. Estudia is a multidisciplinary craft studio. It's a space where anyone can come and get their hands dirty using our space and our tools. It's a playground. Before Estudia, I was living in Jerusalem finishing my master's. And then I moved to Tel Aviv looking for more creative, artistic kind of lifestyle.
And we realized it would be the most fun if we created our own job to be our own bosses. We were really into this website called Pinterest, where it's basically a digital inspiration board. And we'd spend hours just kind of going and looking at all the projects we wanted to do in order to improve our apartment on a budget.
It was really quick for us to realize that we couldn't really do these DIY projects at home.
So we conceptualized this space where anybody can come. It could be a community craft studio. It was nice to see everybody create something with their hands and feel that excitement for building something for the first time. At first, we started with a little blog, and slowly, slowly, we realized we needed more features. WIX really allowed us to customize everything we wanted and to convey the information that we needed to.
The online store gives us a platform to very quickly and easily take a photo of something that our customers made or our teachers made, post it online, and give them a platform
to sell. It's really fun. I never knew how much you would actually enjoy the process of making a website, but it makes you feel like a designer when you really have no background.
