In this testimonial, Kimberly Escamilla, founder of the International Poetry Library (IPL) of San Francisco, describes the nonprofit’s background, collections, and governance, and explains why IPL chose Wix to host its website. Established in 2008 and now holding about 6,000 poetry volumes and 2,000 literary magazines, IPL operates with a board of directors, an advisory board of poets, and many volunteers, and is planning a rental service for MFA students. Wix was selected for its user‑friendly, visual interface, dynamic plugins, and easy‑to‑edit features such as blog, gallery, and calendar, allowing staff without coding expertise to maintain the site. Since launching the Wix site nine months ago, IPL has seen a substantial increase in traffic and positive visitor feedback. A recent donor, a former poet, praised the site and contributed $1,000 through a seamless online donation process, illustrating the platform’s effectiveness for fundraising.

My name is Kimberly Escamilla and my organization is the International Poetry Library of San Francisco. It's a WIX run website and we're very proud of it. We've only had it for about nine months and we've seen a huge difference in traffic as well as just general feedback from people who visited the site. I established it in 2008, got non profit status and then I started building it from there. We currently have a board of directors and advisory board of poets and a lot of volunteers. Now we have about 6,000 volumes of poetry and about 2,000 literary magazines and we're hoping to start a rental service for MFA students. We wanted something that we could have that was pretty user friendly, that I could eventually work on as well. When I had minor changes I needed to make that I didn't have to know all the coding. And also there was a variety of dynamic sort of plug ins and things we could use at the Gale. And I like that it's very visual and dynamic and that we're able to make changes pretty easily, yet we're able to have a blog, we're able to have a gallery, a calendar. All of it is pretty dynamic and visual and appealing in that way. Since using wix, we have seen changes in people's reactions to the website. A couple weeks ago I had a former poet and donor who's read for us before said that she loved the site and she had just donated $1,000. And so it was nice that she was able to do that flawlessly and without any questions and she was impressed by what she saw.
