Opus 5 generated a playable Call of Duty level from a text prompt in one shot. Demos from 30 days ago looked terrible by comparison. The team wonders if 3D environment generation could replace image models entirely.
This made a viral loop on X. This is Opus 5 recreating Call of Duty from a single prompt. Call it a one-shot, if you would.
Remember these demos 30 days ago just looked like absolute garbage? It's crazy, the rate of improvement.
Well, what's amazing to me, I mean, this is sort of the converse, for those who can't see, that this does look like Call of Duty. The converse of not having native image generation abilities in defense of Anthropic is that if you look at the entire physical world and you say, well, everything is just code, including code that that generates photorealistic video games, then you say you don't need native image generation abilities. You just need the ability to generate photorealistic 3D environments like Call of Duty, and you're all set.
