Monday Mailbag for CF Pro Tools :: February 27th, 2023

A Monday Mailbag video (CF Pro Tools) where Matt answers viewer support questions about ClickFunnels and PayPal integrations. Major issues covered: PayPal transactions sometimes not appearing inside ClickFunnels (webhook timing/‘erase condition’), PayPal popup failing to load, troubleshooting PayPal add-on settings (toggle enable, correct payment integration), and recreating a checkbox UI element from an older funnel template.

Hey, what's up, everybody? It's Matt again, and welcome back to a Monday, Mailbags. I'm gonna put 10 minutes on the clock and we're gonna talk about your questions. So the questions that you guys have, the questions that come into support, if I see a few of them that look common, I might address them publicly without, you know, doxing you and saying who you are, what questions you have. But let's put that time on here. Let's get started. I always like to. If one person has a question, it's a good possibility that a lot of you guys may have the same question. So let's get that 10 minutes started. That way I don't talk too much because I'm really good at that. It's trying to. Kind of keeps me on. Keeps me on track. So the number one question, PayPal transactions not showing up in Click Funnels. What's going on? Can you help me out? So what's going on and what I'm. What, what's being referenced here? Let's say you're using a Click Funnels page and you have the PayPal plus add on, and you're using PayPal, and somebody uses PayPal. They go through the whole process and bring up PayPal. It's not going to work on this end because apparently you can't log into your own account and try to pay with PayPal. But you, you get the concept. You're gonna. You're gonna log in, you're gonna make a payment. The thing is there, whatever it is that you're trying to pay for, it's there, right? So what it is. Oops. Let's try. There it is. All right, so let me get rid of this and let me just give you a quick rundown of what you. What you should expect when a PayPal product or any product is purchased. And what should happen is that you would be able to go to your sales and you would be able to find a transaction. I'm just curious if there's anything in my old time here, so I'm going to do that. Apparently, I don't have anything. And what you can expect after going through that process is that you would have information here in your sales data inside of Click Funnels. But what happens a lot of times is that that's not what happens. And you'll only get the sales data inside of Click Funnel, inside of PayPal. You'll get paid. People will make the payment, and you'll get paid. But sometimes the charges or the information, the data will not show up here, which means it probably won't show up in your stats, where you might be looking for stats here. This is just a test funnel, so I'm not surprised that I don't have a lot going on. But what should happen is it should go here. The other thing that should happen is, is let's go back and I'll go back to the steps and then we're going to go into the products tab. So these are all the products here. What should happen if you have anything here like follow up emails, follow up funnels, any follow up actions like tagging or adding to a list, any integrations, that kind of thing. The integrations should take place if they're set up at the page level, but if they're set up at the product level, meaning that they're inside of here. Like if I go in, I use Stripe for this one. But it's the same concept. If you go into the fulfillment email, this would not kick out if it, if that information does not kick over. But this should kick out if you have one. Follow up actions. This is where you would set up follow up actions like hey, these are some integrations that can happen when the product hat when the product happens. So there is a web hook that would normally trigger when a sale is made. Sometimes guys, it doesn't happen. And that's what's called erase condition. That's when basically PayPal is working faster than Click Funnels is because of that the webhook doesn't fire. So unfortunately there's no way to really it's. Occasionally it happens, it doesn't always happen. So you should have your information inside of Click funnels when a PayPal purchase happens. If it doesn't, it's not a bug on the CF Pro Tools then it's just something that randomly happens. So you just have to keep an eye out for it. And you should be. The way that you would fix it is you would go to the buyer's profile. So you would go to, we'll say Bob, because I've got a lot of these test transactions. You would go to that person that purchased and you would just go to the purchases tab like this and it'd be like, oh, they didn't purchase, but you know that they did because you have record of it inside of PayPal and you would go to Add Purchase and then find what it is that they purchased, magnetic sticker, whatever, and then click Add Purchase and then whatever follow up actions that that you had set up for that particular person, guess what? They will now Trigger and they will all happen. And chances are you're not going to know unless they write it. But that's all you would have to do to fix that. So that's what's going on. And I'm already down to 5 minutes and 27 seconds. Told you. Sometimes I just talk a lot. So let's go to the next question, which is the PayPal pop up is not coming up. All right, so here's one of the big questions. I think I still have the funnel up. Let me go back to my funnels and go to PP for PayPal promise. Go to my PayPal testing. And then so what happens Sometimes you remember that pop up that we were testing with? And sometimes a PayPal pop up, it looks like this, sometimes it'll just spin like that and sometimes it just won't work or at all. Or maybe it'll come up and then go away. Now we don't want that. Of course we want that to come up and work. We want to log in. But so if you go into CF Pro, if you go to help Dots, I'm not even sure how to get there. I'm not going to go in here right now because I might dock somebody. I'm not sure what's there. But if you look up the help docs inside of our support desk, there is a troubleshooting guide. You can also find it inside of CF Pro Tools. So if you come here and then you look up add ons. My add ons. If you're gonna create a new add on for PayPal Plus PayPal plus, let's see. There's a number of reasons why wouldn't that come up. PayPal. Okay, I did come all the way down to the bottom. I've actually created an entire step here for PayPal troubleshooting. There's a lot of little nuances that if not followed, you could run into some, some troubles. There's an entire video here which is about 15. It's about 15 minutes long. And there is a help article here associated with it with the list of, of things. So definitely make sure to visit this if you're having issues. You never know, it might be something simple like the paypal products set up using stripe integration instead of paypal version 2. So make sure that your paypal products are set up with paypal and not stripe. So that's one thing that could, could break that. Okay, so let's call that good. Make sure to check that out. If you're having trouble with PayPal, the next question is actually PayPal related as well. And PayPal add on not working even when it's set up correctly. Alright, so I get this a lot. Well, first thing I would do is say come back and check this out. But let's say that everything was set up. Let's say you are doing everything correctly. And what I'm about to tell you applies to any add on, not just PayPal. Okay, so let me go back into, let me go backwards. Where's it at? Come in here. Let's say you've already got an add on set up and you're doing everything correctly. You've whitelisted your domain, you've done everything that you know is supposed to be done, but it's still not working. What if. I'm just saying, what if I was doing this the other day and you know, was troubleshooting for like a half an hour, scratching my own head, trying to figure out what was wrong and I was like, this doesn't make sense. Why is this happening? And I realized that this little checkbox up in the top right corner was, was disabled. It was off. And I was like, oh well that's the problem right there. It's disabled. So always double check that little button right there. Make sure that you're at whatever it is. It could be PayPal, it could be promo code plus or whatever it's called Promo Code Pro I think. And just make sure that you're enabled, that you can also enable add ons and disable and enable them from here using this script, this little toggle as well. So double check those. I normally never do that unless I'm troubleshooting. So or you know, if I just don't need it anymore for whatever reason. So anyway, that's it. I'm down to 1 minute and 14 seconds. I got one more question to go and that is a. Your first funnel checkbox. How can I recreate the checkbox from your first funnel.com so let's go over there real quick. Start my first funnel. I'm going to recreate this because it's on the order page, not that page. And what's being referenced, this is built in CF 2.0, not 1.0. But the question was this box right here, how could that be rebuilt in. For, for you? So on 1.0 this checkbox right here could actually be rebuilt using and I'll just use this real quick using what's called the checkbox headline. So I will put it down here just so you can see it real quick. If I go to form Checkbox headline right here. So you can actually use this. You can change the text. Change. Change the text, do fun things, whatever, whatever, whatever. Right. You can also go into the settings in the Advanced tab and change whether it has a background, a border. You could set the radius top only. All edges, borders. We're going to say it's got full. I'm getting yelled at by. That's a good alarm right there. So I'll say, okay, but let's come back here. I'll continue this real quick and just call it good border size. You have to give it a border size, otherwise you won't be able to see it, I think. And the border style has to be solid. So there's a lot of things here that need to be set before you can even get this thing to work. So I'm going to go to this and then you can see right there that it puts a pretty decent border around that checkbox to make it look like the. Your first funnel one. So yeah, just play around with it. That is the checkbox headline. If you're trying to set that up with 1.0 with 2.0, I'm sure there's something similar in there, but I'm not going to get into that right now. So that's it. Hopefully this helps.
