How to make money today!!

Chad Thibodeaux breaks down the three-bucket method for fast cash: sell beta offers to warm leads immediately, pre-sell small live events, and run a 14-30 day trial funnel. He shares a case study where he made $36,000 in a day by layering these offers, with conversion rates around one-third of contacts becoming buyers.

Hey, good morning everybody. How are you? Chad Thibodeaux. Welcome to another Monday Morning Mentor. So glad to have you guys here. Today what I want to do is I want to talk with you guys about how to make money today. I mean, today. Have you ever been in a situation where you have all these ideas for a business, or maybe you've been in business for quite a while, and you just aren't quite sure how to take that idea and get it cash flow positive? I mean, that's a huge deal for so many people. So what a lot of people do when they need to become cash flow positive is is they start doing what I call tinkering, right? So they'll start polishing, they'll start editing, they'll start coming up with a new headline or a new post or a new whatever. And they do all these things because it keeps them busy and it feeds a dopamine trigger inside their brain that busy equals productive. And so at the end of the day, you've been super busy, you feel like you've been productive, but nobody's making any money. And so one of the things that I've done over the years To help people get through that and to make money now is I've helped them try to understand that you've got to be able to look at money-making through 3 lenses basically. There's really only 3 things that you need to be doing today if you are not cash flow positive. And if you are cash flow positive, which That's where we want you to get. If you are cash flow positive, then there's other things that you can do. So you can go in and watch our training called The 7 Money-Making Activities, the 7 things you should be doing every single day in order to make money. You can do that. But what I want you to do today is I want you to put on a set of glasses, and these glasses are only designed to pick what we call Low-hanging fruit. That's the point. How do I pick low-hanging fruit? And if you can pick low-hanging fruit, then you can begin making money. Now, so here's the way that I do it. Like if I'm in a cash flow crunch and I need money now. So the first thing you have to do is the law of momentum. So momentum is simply forward motion fueled by a series of wins. The law of momentum is new Improved, improving. Okay? New, improved, improving. So the last 2 laws, the improved and the improving, are really designed for people who are already paying you, that you may want to pay you more. So we're gonna— we're not gonna focus on those 2 laws. We're gonna simply focus on new. Okay? So when I need cash and I need cash now, I come up with a new idea, a new concept, a new something. So for instance, so I just wrote my brand new book called The Six Figure Keynote. In fact, it's sitting on my table in there. I'm really excited about it. I've been scribbling and making some last-second changes and edits before we go to print on Friday. And what's interesting is, okay, I've got something new. Okay, now you don't necessarily have to have a book to have something new. You could have an idea, and I'm gonna talk with you about that. So if I wanted to make money now, what I would do is I would go into my email database, into my Instagram, any social media that I have, and the first lens I'm going to look at are people that I know who need this product and need this product now. So I'm going to go through and I'm going to make a list of 10 people. So, I call that the now bucket. So, I would go into the now bucket and scroll through my stuff and say, okay, who needs this and who needs this now? And I would make a list of 10 people. And when I say this, what am I talking about? I'm not talking about something that they could pay me $10 for or $15 for. I'm talking something that they could get a really good deal on. It's something I'm gonna charge a lot of money for later on, but I don't— I need cash, I need cash now. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to find those 10 people and I would reach out to them and say something like this. Hey Susie, this is Chad. Hey, you met me at XX event and I told you that I'd let you know as soon as my book came out. Well, great news, the beta version of my book just came out. It's not for public consumption right now because it's still in the edit phase, but I It's really, really, really good and I'd love to be able to get this into your hands. Do you mind if I send you a link to download? Okay, now that is— so the now bucket, you're gonna go with what I call a quick yes. Okay, you're gonna get a quick yes. Yes, I would love for you to send me that beta book. And what you're doing with those 10 people, with the now people, is you're trying to build some quick momentum. Then once you get a quick yes, second thing you wanna do is you want to put some kind of string. It's free but there's some kind of string attached. The string would be, I would love for you to get this. I got your email. Do me a favor. Would you do me a favor? If I put together just a quick little post, would you mind sharing this on social media? Social media. Like, oh my gosh, I'm so excited. Chad's brand new book, Six Figure Keynote, is coming out, etc., etc. And I would just get them to say yes. Now, why do I ask them to do that for me? The reason is because I've identified the 10 as the now people. Now I need to identify those people as my people. Are these my people? And what I mean by that is you know if they're your people because they would do something for you. Okay, so I've identified my 10 as now people, and I probably get 6 or 7 to be my people. So they've shared something on my behalf, and it can be really simple. It could just be a link, it could be whatever, etc. And then now the third one is, is this where I'm going to move them to money? So, hey, last time we talked, you were really trying to leverage your business and figure out a way how to do this thing. Part of this book, the reason why I'm doing it is I've got a coaching program that I'm gonna be launching and it's gonna be really expensive to be honest with you. It should be because if I teach you how to make 6 figures on a stage, you don't want it to be cheap. And so when it goes live, it's gonna be about $15,500. But I'm looking for 4 or 5 people that can come into the program as beta clients and I'll just charge like a fraction, like 10%. So instead of $15,500, I'm gonna charge $1,500. Okay. $1,750, but you're going to get to come in and it's a 12-week intensive. You and I are going to work together and we're going to be able to do X, Y, and Z. Now, the really cool thing about this is the reason why beta is where it should be is during this time you're going to get a lot of my personal attention because I'm still building the product on the backend. So you're going to get a lot of my personal attention, which is really what you want anyway, and you get to have it for pennies on the dollar. And so I'd love to be— I'd love to invite you to be one of our beta— to be one of my beta— not testers, you don't want to use the word testers, but one of my beta clients. And you don't even have to use the word beta. Let's scratch that word. One of my charter— there we go. I'd love to invite you to be one of my charter members or one of my charter clients in this particular process. And all I ask in favor is number 1, you do everything that I ask you to do, so act as if you paid the $15,500. Number 2, give me feedback. Like if it the book or in the program or in the product, see any typos or broken links, make sure that you let me know. Number 3, you got to do all the work and because I want to get you results, I want to get you paid quickly. And number 4, when you do, you have to promise me that you'll give me 3 types of testimonials. I want a text message or like a written testimonial, I want a quick little video testimonial, and I want a social media shout-out. Can you do that? If so, I'll let you come in for 10%. And the really cool thing is when it does launch live, I'm more than happy to give you that program for free as well. So it's $1,550. I'd love for you to be one of my first R.E.W.I.N. So that's the now bucket, and that's my strategy that I use if I need to extrapolate cash and I need to extrapolate cash right now. So typically what you find is everything goes down in thirds. So if you have 10 people, then about 7 will become your people. Remember, you're looking for the now. Who are the people who need this now? Then who are your people? And then who are your beta testers? Everything typically goes down by a third. What I find is for about every 10 invitations or 12 invitations I send out, I'll get 2 to 4 people to say yes on that beta product. If I need $5K and I need $5K right now, I know exactly what to do, how to do it. Now, what do you need in place in order to be able to do that? You need what I call the one-sheet syllabus. Not the full syllabus that we teach inside Launch 90X, but just the one-sheet syllabus. It's the name, it's the objective of the program, here's the concepts of what you're going to be teaching, here's the concepts of what they should be able to walk away with, here's exactly when it starts, and here's how much it costs. And then there's a link for them to buy. With those particular people, I don't like to send them a link. I actually like to take their credit card right then and there. So I'll say something like, awesome, hey, let's get you signed up. Okay? And are you gonna— I'm assuming you're gonna pay credit card? Yes. Okay, great. Awesome. And then I'll pull up the link and I'll take it from them right then and there. I'll get them enrolled and then I wanna get them inside the program. So that's the now bucket. So the first bucket I want you to look at if you need cash and you need cash now, I feel like a JD Wentworth commercial. If you need cash, you need cash now, I want you to look in that bucket. It's the now bucket. The second bucket I want you to look in is what we call the future event bucket. The future event bucket. So what I like to do is I like to put an event on the calendar. Not a huge event, but a small event. Let's say 10, 12, 15, 18, 24 people, something like that. Under 30 people. I like to do a small event. And then what I like to do is I like to put that event on the calendar. So let's say that I'm going to be hosting an event here in Phoenix, and let's say that event is like I'm going to be teaching people the Six Figure Keynote. So what I would do then is I would reach out to my now people, and then I would take it one more step, which are the most likely people. So I get the now people and I get the most likely people. I'd reach out to them and I would say something like, Hey Susie, Chad Thibodeaux here. Hey, you wanted a link to my book, I'm going to send you that link. But I've got a grand opening for my book, a launch for my book, and I'd love to be able to invite you to be one of the people at my live launch. And here's what we're going to be doing. I'm going to have my real book there. I'd love to be able to give you a complimentary copy. I'll autograph it for you and everything like that so you can get going. But I'd also I'm also going to be filming all of my live teachings and trainings that day that's going to go along with the book. So I'd love for you to come and be a part of that education. But what I'm going to do is after I'm done teaching in the morning, then that afternoon I'm going to do live coaching and I'm going to hold a workshop for the rest of that day. And then all of day 2, I'm going to be hosting a workshop and we're going to coach and work together on this particular project and process. And I think you would be a really, really good candidate. I charge $500 for that 2-day live event, and I'll take care of your lunches so you don't have to stress that. You just got to get here, and I'm going to basically give you tons of coaching for that $500. You'll know exactly what to do. You'll know exactly how to make money on stage, and it's a really awesome thing. I should be charging 10 times this, but I really value and really cherish you and feel like that you and I've got really good synergy together. So I'd love to be able to invite you to be one of my— and then you can tell them a number if you want to, or you can just say, I'd love for you to be part of my launch team. I'd love for you to be part of my team that does this. And so I would love to send you an invite. Would you be interested in that? Okay? And then what you do is now I start pre-selling tickets for this particular event. And typically what I find is you We get lots of people to be able to do that. So it's not a big of a— it's not the $1,500 that I would be asking, it's about $500, but typically you can get 6, 8, 10, 12 tickets sold in a particular day just by doing the grunt work. Now you say, well, Chad, none of that's automated. You're right, because when you need money and you need cash now, you don't automate instant cash. You automate long-term cash. Instant cash you're doing with text message, you're doing With DMs and you're doing phone calls. That's what text messages are. So you got the now bucket, you got the most likely bucket, and then the third bucket that you want to be able to look at is what I call the trial bucket. Now the trial bucket does not put cash in your pocket today, but what the trial bucket does is it gets a ton of prospects. Into the pipeline to give you cash within 14 days, okay? Or 15 days or 30 days, however long you want the trial to be. So here's what I do, okay? In fact, I'm doing this right now with a brand new product that I'm launching. So what I'll do is I'll go to my now people, I'll go to my most likely people, and let's say that's 50, 60, 70 people, okay? And then I'll reach out to them and say something like, hey guys, I got a brand new coaching program coming up, it's really awesome, here's what's in it, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, And this. this. And what's really cool is, um, when this program goes live, it's going to be $297 a month. So $297, which is totally worth it because you get, you know, complimentary GoHighLevel, uh, you get— and then I'll go in and tell them everything that's in it and what it's designed to do. But then you could say, hey, I'm looking for my first 24 charter members in it. And so you get a couple perks. Number one is instead of paying $297 a month, you're gonna pay $197 a month. Okay. Which is really cool. As long as you stay in, you get that price. The second thing is I want to invite you in absolutely free. You can come in, kick the tires, check it out, see if you like it. If you like it, just stay in and it will start billing you $197 a month in about 2 weeks. If you don't like it, there is a little cancel button. You don't even have to talk to anybody. You can just click on the button and you can cancel and you can bail as long as you do that before the 2 weeks. 2-week trial is over, you got it. So that way you come in, check it out, see if you like it, etc. And what I learned is that I can then go to a 3rd level on that one. So I got the now bucket, I got the, you know, the most likely bucket, and then I've got the trial bucket. And so what I try to do with that trial bucket is I try to go through everybody who's done any type of interaction, like whether they've texted me, emailed me, DM'd me, commented on my post, whatever. I'll literally go in. Now you say, Chad, that's a lot of work. Yeah, but you know what? Now what you can do is you can actually tell ChatGPT to do this work for you. So I can go into ChatGPT and say, hey, I want you to go into my Instagram, or I want you to go into my Facebook, okay? And I want you to find anybody over the last— and you can give it a number— 60 days, who's ever commented, liked, sent me a DM. You can give all the parameters. And what I want you to do is I want you to create a list of those people, put it inside at a table and I want you to rate them as now people, as likely people, or as trial people. I want you to rate them for me. And then they'll go in and they'll rate them for me. And then you can go in and do the manual work. Say, okay, I like this, I like it, I like it. And then you can literally tell ChatGPT, awesome, do me a favor. I want you to send these people a DM or do me a favor. I want you to reply on that comment. And they literally will do— ChatGPT will do that on your behalf. Now, I don't recommend that you have long-term conversations with a bot, but I do recommend that it may be a good icebreaker, especially for the trial people. And so I just put them in those 3 buckets. So the now bucket, the most likely bucket, and then the trial bucket. So I look at all of my prospects through those particular lenses. So now, Let me tell you how you do this. You want to put all of your energy and effort today. Like literally, I just tell people, if you're broke, then an entrepreneur, a hardworking entrepreneur works about 60 hours a week. That's a lot, okay? You'll get to a point where you don't have to, but 60 hours this week, you're going to do nothing but reach out to now and most likely people. That's it. You're going to reach out to them. You're going to text them. You're going to call them. You're going to email them. You're going to DM them, you're going to do whatever you can, and it's not going to be bulk, it's going to be personal, okay? It's going to be personalized. What I love about ChatGPT is you can literally go in and tell ChatGPT to do that work, and if you don't know how to do it, just go to ChatGPT and say, hey, I want you to do this project for me. I don't know how to tell you to do that, so create me a prompt that I can give back to you so you can do this work for me? And what's great about GPT or Claude is they literally will go in and they will give you the exact prompt. Now, you may have to tell them to ask you a few questions so that way they know what you're trying to do, and then they got it, then they'll create you a prompt. You copy that prompt and give it right back to them, and they will go in and do that work. And it's pretty clever, and it's not Spammy or cheesy at all. Let me give you an example. So, not too long ago was my birthday, and over 300 people reached out to me on my birthday to wish me a happy birthday. And I'm not a— I hate that. I don't know if you ever get that one, you know, you do a birthday and then Facebook's got this thing where you can reply, like click a button and it'll reply all, and you can send one message that'll tag everybody. I hate that. There's nothing personal about that. And, um, so I like it. I like to give people personal responses. So in years past, I've had to go in and literally reply to every single person, but it's just the discipline that I've done and I like it. This year, I was like, I wonder if GPT would do that for me. So I went into ChatGPT and said, hey, um, you know, today was my birthday. I've had several hundred people reach out to me and wish me a happy birthday, and I want to reply to So, can you go into my DMs or go into my Facebook and Instagram, find every single person who wished me a happy birthday, and I want you to reply to them. And here are the parameters. Number 1, I want you to call them out by name. Number 2, I want you to create a unique message to every single person, so do not duplicate a message twice. Number 3, if they reply, I want you to heart the reply. And if they ask me an open-ended question, I want you to send it to me on here and notify me so I can reply to that question. So I did that and it literally went in, logged into my Facebook, logged into my Instagram, and 45 minutes later, all 300 people had an appropriate reply with their name, with unique, it had something to do with the message that they had or something generic if they gave a generic message. And then every single person who said thank you or whatever, it hearted. And then anybody who asked an open-ended question like, hey, what did you do today to celebrate? It either replied with an appropriate response or it tagged me, like it sent me a private message so I knew to go in and reply to them. That's the power of GPT. And so you can get those 3 buckets, the now bucket, you know, the most likely bucket and the trial bucket. You can get all of that stuff done today. So the exercise I want you to do today is I want you to go in and I want you to start messing around with Clodder or ChatGPT, and I want you to see if you can figure out how to connect it to your social media. And then I want you to— I want it to go in and I want it to find and give you rationale based upon all of your contacts, based upon why they think they're now, why they think they're most likely, and why they think if they're good for a trial. And it will do that. And then you can tell it to export it in a spreadsheet, and then you can literally click it up, open up in Excel, and you can see the particular spreadsheet. You go in and make any notes that you want. You can upload that spreadsheet back to ChatGPT and say, great, let's create a game plan on how you and I can reach out to all these people today. Okay? And it will do it. It will do it for you. And I cannot tell you how many times when I've needed cash that I've I relied on a method just like that and it put money in my pocket and put money in my pocket today. Now, you might be saying, well, hold on a second, Chad. Like, why would you give it to them for like 10% or whatever? So, I want to make sure that the people I'm offering that to, that 10% to, aren't people that would pay me $15K because I'd rather have one person pay me $15K $15K than 10 people paying me $1,500. I'd rather have that. So I want to make sure that I'm not doing that. So I will take those people, like my sizzling people, my hot people, I'll take them out and I will do personalized reach out to them. And then I'm not going to put them in the charter group or the beta group, I'm going to work with them one-on-one. So I want to make sure that I'm not I'm selling myself short when somebody should be paying me $15K and they're on the brink of doing so, and instead of letting them pay $15K, I've let them pay $1,500. I don't want to do that. These are people that you haven't quite built that level of trust up with yet. And so I want you to think through that, and you can get tons and tons of people. I'll give you a personal example and then I'll hop off today. So it wasn't all that long ago that my mom passed. A year ago November. When I got back to work, I took a lot of time off, almost a year. When I got back to work, I was trying to figure out how can I relaunch this. I took my $297 per month program, I made it $97. I did the trial thing and I did the same exact exercise that I'm telling you to do. I ended up getting like— 100 customers. On day 1, I ended up getting like 60 people that say, yes, I will take the trial. And then when they took the trial, I used that as a qualifier, so I worked backwards. So I did the trial first. I got 60 people to take the trial. That means they jumped in my cavoo, they put a credit card down, and they weren't going to get billed for 14 days. Then I reached out to all of them and said— so I worked backwards and said, hey, I've got a beta program. Coming up and I'd love to be able to have you. Here's what it would look like. Okay? And many of them said yes. And then I put an event on the calendar. Okay? And then I pre-sold them a ticket. So here's the way that I made it now. So I had this coaching program. It was at the time, I think it was $12,500 at the time that I wanted. And I wanted, I needed $1,250. I needed some cash really bad. So the $197 per month program, I— or actually the $297 per month program, I discounted down to $97. So I told them, hey, if you prepay for a year, so that's $1,200, if you prepay for a year, I will give you this particular program for free, okay? And I can only do this for 12 people. You know, we had, you know, over 6 60 people take the trial today, so the first 12 in win. And I got 12 people in like 12 minutes, okay, who paid the $1,200. They prepaid for the entire year of that program. They prepaid for that. So once I got those 12, then I was really good. I mean, I had $12,000 in my pocket that day, which like bailed me out, you know, which was really good. And then I had 12 people inside my beta program that were going to work with me free with a string of tasks. And then out of those 12 people, when I did my— I gave all of them an initial 101. When I did that initial 101, if I identified them as somebody that I really want to work with, I upgraded them to my $25,000 coaching program at 50% off. And so I think we got— we may have gotten 3, but I know 2 for sure who jumped in and wrote me a check for $12,500. So if you think about that, that ended up being a $36,000 day for me, all based upon using this particular program. And I don't know about you, but $30,000 is enough to like let you catch your breath and you can survive for a couple months on that while you're building all of your stuff. So if I needed cash, I need cash today, that's how I do it. Those are the 3 buckets that I look in. So it's the now bucket, it's the most likely bucket, it's the trial bucket. And I just try to get as many people in as I can. You only do that by working your tail off. How long? If you work 60 hours, I'm 100% convinced this week, if you work 60 hours this week doing those 3 things that I just told you, by the end of the week, as long as you have at least a $1,500 program that you can offer, by the end of that week, I bet you'll have 15 to 20 in your pocket this week by doing that particular methodology. And I don't know about you, but most people that I know, if they're making $15,000 to $20,000 a week, that's a pretty decent living. This is how you jumpstart it. Now, do you want to do this long-term? No, that's a ton of work, okay? But can you do it and do it now? Heck yeah. So use GPT as your friend.
