Should You Take Viagra to Fix Your ED? (or is there a better way?)

Dr. Charles Pereyra explains how Viagra works by boosting nitric oxide to trigger erections, then covers drawbacks like needing higher doses over time and potential side effects. He presents stem cell and exosome therapy as experimental alternatives that aim to repair the damaged blood vessels causing ED rather than just masking the problem.

Should you take Viagra to fix your ED? A couple of weeks, he's having problems with his pitching elbow and team doctors want him to sit out some games. High pressure system. Viagra. Viagra. This is exactly what I'm going to cover in this video, including number 1, how this medication actually works. Number 2, how it could potentially hurt you in the long run. And number 3, what are some other things out there right now that could potentially address the root cause? As a disclaimer, my name is Dr. Charles and I am a board certified medical doctor, but this is not medical advice and purely informational. If you'd like medical advice, speak to your medical doctor. So how does Viagra or the Blue Chew actually work? Well, the main process of getting an erection involves something called the activation of the parasympathetic nervous system. Now, the parasympathetic nervous system signals the blood vessels inside of the penis to produce a substance called NO. This process of NO allows the blood vessels to perform in a way where they can engorge the entire penis with blood, enabling you to get a healthy natural erection. Now, what this Viagra or blue chew actually does is synthetically help you release NO in the body. Now, when you release NO, this has systemic effects as well as effects in the penis, but definitely will help you get an erection. Now, to number 2, the reason why I believe this could possibly hurt people long term. And again, this is just my opinion. As you take any medication long term, you need to take more of it in order to see the effects. And since this is oral in the body, it means it doesn't just go to that one organ in the penis, it goes systemically and exerts its effects everywhere. And also, needing to take it more means that some patients are also reporting it may not work at all, and some patients stop taking it entirely. So number 3, what is our favorite way and something that potentially can get to the root cause to help ED? Well, that comes to stem cell and exosome therapy. Now, this is still considered experimental, there are some incredibly promising studies showing that it may actually help the root cause of ED. And one of the main mechanisms we're seeing is the potential to induce a process called angiogenesis, which is new blood vessel growth. And one of the main problems as we get older and many of the damaging things we can do to the penis and any other artery is to damage those blood vessels in the penis. Now, we damage the blood vessels in the penis, the only real way to repair it, in my opinion, is to repair. And we're seeing in the research is stem cells and exosomes really have the potential to fix ED. So I hope you found this incredibly informative.
