An accountant shares three ways to grow your firm: switch to flat fees instead of hourly billing, add fractional CFO services, and audit your clients to find where you're losing money.
Here are three tips that help me grow my accounting firm. First tip is moving over to a flat fee service instead of charging hourly. That was able to grow my income significantly and I didn't have to grow the amount of time that I was working in my firm. The next thing I did is I added on high value, high leverage, high fee, fractional CFO services. This took my firm beyond what I could have imagined and I didn't have to really work anymore. And the third thing I did is I audited all of my clients. I found out that a ton of them were undercharging. And not only that, I tracked all the hours that I was working on them. And when you put it all together, it turns out that I had some very profitable clients. And I had some clients that were not so great to say the least. Once I fixed that, those three things combined together helped me grow my firm significantly.
