This is a YouTube video titled "The GOLDEN Rule of Marketing 😤" containing a marketing advice talk focused on the concept of selling the outcome rather than just the product features. The speaker explains the importance of communicating the solution, benefit, and ultimate outcome to customers, using the analogy of a drill, the hole it makes, and the family picture hung on the wall to illustrate the point. The content was created in January 2025 and provides practical marketing guidance.
Golden rule of marketing feature benefit outcome. So when your first challenges is a lot of people, when they market, are selling the drill. The problem is that people need to know that they need all these other things to need a drill, right? They just have a problem. That's the solution. They don't really understand it. So you need to talk about the drill. The next thing you need to talk about is the hole. So what does the drill do? Right, so you may do budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, but realistically, what does that do for them? That gives them better cash flow, that allows them to have more money in the account, that allows them to not miss payroll, for example. And then the final one, which is most important, which is family. So in this example, you take a drill, you drill a hole in the wall and you're hanging a picture frame of your family on there and you smile when you see your family. So in relations to cash flow, you provide cash flow management, budget and forecasting. They have more cash flow in the bank, which allows them to not miss payroll. And because they don't miss payroll, they don't have to go to their husband or wife or their employees, husband and wives, and say, hey, Blank, so and so we can't pay the mortgage because we didn't get paid on time from John. Right? And so when you do that, you need to talk about sol solution, benefit and then the outcome. So we need to focus on the outcome. That's the most important part. That's the golden rule for marketing. Go ahead and follow for more advice like this.
