Rick, a CFO, cut his workweek from 60-70 hours to 40 by delegating Excel modeling and focusing on strategy instead. He gained 20+ hours back by shifting from perfectionist grunt work to working on the business rather than in it.

Are you spending more time at work the same? Less like, what does that look like? The big takeaway is absolutely I'm prioritizing my bandwidth. And my bandwidth has gone from being this Excel modeler perfectionist that everything's got to look good. That way it's simplified for my customers. To now today I'm pushing things over the fence, delegating responsibilities to my team. So my bandwidth has effectively gone down from 60, 70 hours a week where I was last August before we met, to today pretty flat around 40, 40, 40 hours a week. And most of that is actually working today on the business rather than in the business, which is probably one of the more important things, because as a cfo, I can't sit here doing all the financial modeling. I can't sit here but doing majority of these less strategic hours, more on the business, less kind of doing a lot more of the grunt work.
