In this YouTube endorsement, the speaker celebrates Chantal Burtin’s new book Phoenix Rising, highlighting its bold discussion of women’s intimate pleasure—a topic often treated as taboo. The speaker praises Burtin’s vulnerability and how she leverages personal experience to help clients uncover hidden past patterns that block fulfillment. The testimonial introduces the concept of the "heroine’s journey," contrasting it with the traditional hero’s journey by emphasizing internal learning, healing, and returning that growth to serve communities. Framed through a futurist lens, the speaker argues that confronting taboos is essential for intentionally co‑creating preferred futures rather than defaulting to futures shaped by others. The speaker also mentions a recent online Zoom book launch, expresses personal admiration as a friend, woman, and futurist, and promises to share purchase links in the comments.

My gorgeous friend Chantal Burtin has published a book called Phoenix Rising, and it is astounding. Chantal dares to talk about something which is taboo, not what we might necessarily think of, which is absolutely covered in this book, about experiencing pleasure, about women experiencing pleasure, about women experiencing intimate pleasure. And right from the beginning of that, from pleasure, it is something that we're not supposed to be reveling in. People don't seem to like it when we enjoy ourselves too much. Chantal covers a lot more than that, and what is astounding about her journey is how vulnerable and open she is about her experiences, and then how she uses that to turn it around to demonstrate how she can help her clients when she works with them. or how any of us can unpack the things that we've hidden in our past that are kind of keeping us away from the incredible journeys and experiences we could be having in this life. Chantal had the most fun book launch online Zoom party recently, and she asked some of us to share our experiences of her and her work and, and her book. And the thing that I shared was this concept of the heroine's journey, We may be familiar with the hero's journey, but women go on a slightly different experience when we are journeying. We don't go out and learn things and come back. We go in and learn things and uncover and heal and then bring that back to the communities that we're serving. And Chantal has done that absolutely beautifully. I love this as a person. I love this as a friend. I love this as a woman. But why I love this book as a futurist is that When we look at the future, we need to intentionally co-create the preferred future we want to have. If we don't do that, we end up in a default future that serves somebody else and not ourselves. And when Chantal dares to bring out these taboos and not just dust them off, but put them out there so everyone can see, she invites us to look at anything that we're hiding or ignoring or trying to pretend is not important. We need to face these things, and we need to decide what should be taboos in the future and what should be appreciated. Chantal, I love it. I am so proud of you and so impressed with your work. Thank you very much for sharing this incredible story with the whole world. You can find the book online. I'll be sharing the links in the comments.
