In this brief welcome video, futurist Charlotte Kemp thanks subscribers to her Explorer newsletter and outlines the purpose of her content. She frames the future as an unknown, rapidly accelerating landscape that can feel intimidating, yet emphasizes that every era has faced uncertainty. Kemp argues that while we cannot predict specific events, we can develop a confident mindset to navigate change. She describes the suite of resources she offers—free eBooks, webinars, workshops, courses, and keynote talks—designed to help people embrace the messy, chaotic nature of the future and express their unique humanity. Kemp invites listeners to email her with questions, encouraging a collaborative, co‑creative approach to shaping a preferred future rather than merely avoiding undesirable outcomes.

Hi, I'm Charlotte Kemp, and thank you again for subscribing to my Explorer newsletter. So what are we exploring, you may wonder? Well, it's the future, that unknown future, that unknown land that we are steadily moving towards. There are so many variables and unknowns in the future that it can leave people feeling rather intimidated, rather afraid of what is coming. And as a futurist, I really would love us to move beyond that. Every age throughout the ages has faced the same unknown future. And yes, these days the pace of change is absolutely exponential. It is faster than it has been in the past. But that doesn't mean that we can't keep up, that we can't actually embrace what is coming. So all of the content that I produce, whether it's the free ebooks or the open webinars or the workshops or courses that I do, the keynotes that I work on, is all to help people to develop the mindset to approach the future with a little bit more confidence. No, we can't predict what is coming next week. No, we're not going to have absolute certainty about what is happening. And yes, there are going to be tough times in the future. Just like there have been tough times in the past and just like there are tough times today. The future is not a terrible, awful, horrible place. Neither is it a fantasy of everything is going to be magical and automated. It's going to be as messy as it is right now. But we can, we can embrace that chaos. We can explore what we're going to bring to the world in the future, how we're going to express that unique humanness and creativity that makes us who we are. And that is what I'd like to share with those people who share my content and who subscribe to this newsletter. If you have any questions about the future that you would like me to, to address, please let me know. Drop me an email anytime. So again, thank you for coming on this expedition into the future. Let us make it an exciting adventure. Let us work together. We literally do co-create the future that we want. Let us be the future that we prefer rather than the futures that we're trying to avoid.
