The Single Most Important Thing To Know about the CRO Readiness Program

A founder explains why companies hire CROs too early and what goes wrong. Most aren't ready for the role, and bringing one in before you've built the right foundation wastes money and time.
Foreign. I'd say the most important thing that a company should know about the CR readiness program is the notion of being ready for a chief revenue officer is not a small thing. It's, in fact, it's critical because too many companies hire a CRO too soon. They hire a CRO improperly with the improper definition of the role. They deploy them incorrectly, and they end up failing, and they end up wasting a lot of money and time on a bad hire. And then usually what ends up happening is that that company blames the person they hired. It was the wrong hire. They don't take responsibility for, well, we weren't ready for one. You know, if I may use a somewhat maybe, you know, crude analogy, it's like meeting the great woman too soon. You know, I just wasn't the right man yet. You know, it wasn't her. It was. Was me. You know, she was awesome. I just was, you know, too much of an idiot. And I think that that's not a. That's an important thing, you know, And I think that a company can't afford to make that mistake. It's too costly, it's too risky. And most companies don't have enough of an understanding of the things that we're talking about to even know how to make that decision or make that analysis or make the determination. So the question I'd be asking founders who are kind of maybe considering working with us is, is my company ready for a chief revenue officer? Do I have the organization that's ready for one right now? And what does that mean? How do I know? How do I find out?
