How to have a great meeting tip number 5: write a great invitation. Great meetings begin with great invitations. That's how you invite people to get together. It's how you inform them about the reason that you're getting together. If you don't write a good invitation, people might not come to your meeting. We live in a world where there are lots of conflicting demands on our time. If we get a meeting that has no information in it, we can't assess whether we should be there, how important it is, or how does it stack up against other things that are demanding our time. If you don't write a good invitation, people might not turn up. Also, if you don't write a good invitation, people aren't going to understand why you want them there. So how do you write a good invitation? You make the topic clear, you make the purpose of the meeting clear, and you tell people the output that they're going to help produce in that meeting. So, if you want to have a great meeting, make sure you write a great invitation!
