How to talk about project issues, tip number 1: don't wait. Issues are things that are happening in your work right now. They are having an impact right now. They're not future events. So when you talk about an issue, when you're communicating about issues, don't wait to do it. If you wait, the impact may be bigger. It may be harder for the other person or the group to address the issue and fix it. And if you wait, you'll increase the frustration that people cause about not knowing things sooner. So how do you deliver a message about an issue as soon as possible? It's simple. As soon as you know something impacts somebody else, tell them. Pick up the phone, write them an email, grab them in the corridor, go to see them. Whatever you do, when you're talking about an issue, make sure that you talk about it as soon as possible. Don't wait!
