How to update stakeholders, tip number 1, start with what they need to know. When you start your update, don't start with any topic that comes to mind. Start with the things that your stakeholders need to know about. If you don't do this, you might run out of time talking about other things and find you don't have the time left to talk about the thing they really need to know. So how do you do this? You start with the topics that impact them. And then you talk about the topics that they care about the most. Those are the things that your audience need to know. Those are the things your stakeholders will care about the most. If you are updating a stakeholder on the status of a piece of work, make sure you start with the things they need to know.
