We're reminded that we live in an era of great power rivalry, that the strong can do what they can and the weak must suffer while it won't.
Carney and I overlapped when I was at Goldman. He is a good guy, a good human being, because you got to stand up to a bully and they respect that. Trump is not throwing Carney under the bus like he did with Trudeau, the worst prime minister in Canadian history. There's a big disconnect there, isn't there? Because the same party, it's Liberals. I don't like Liberals, I like PC. But his speech was wonderful. And for those who missed the speech, made me very proud to be Canadian by birth. And he basically, in a very classy way, said the old world order doesn't work anymore. All of us medium sized countries that don't run the world should partner with each other to take on the bigger powers. And Carney basically marketed Canada to the rest of the world as well. And he mentioned that they just signed a massive, massive trade partnership with China as well as other European countries.
