Short spoken monologue arguing that using the phone snooze button provides no benefit and urging people to place their phone across the room or turn the alarm off instead to avoid repeatedly snoozing. The speaker challenges listeners to name any positive effect of snoozing and notes the typical nine-minute snooze interval as pointless.
The most dangerous button on your phone is the snooze. I have yet to have anybody, and I challenge anybody. Listen, give me one positive benefit of hitting the snooze button. There is zero benefit to hitting the snooze button. Okay? And so having your phone across the room is, like, one of the simplest things that you can do to avoid hitting the snooze button, because it's so easy. It's right beside your bed. Turn over, hit the snooze, go right back to sleep, you know, nine minutes later, and just keep hitting over and over and over again. So just simply the act of putting your phone across the room, why is it nine minutes? That's. Isn't that wild? It is. You don't get any extra obvious quality sleep with that. Right? And so it's like, you know, if you're gonna hit the snooze, like, just turn the alarm off completely. Like, don't hit the snooze, because the snooze just does nothing positive for you.
