Chris Larsen explains the difference between tax prep, which records what already happened, and tax planning, which designs a better outcome. Tax preparers are archaeologists digging through the past. Real planners are architects building the future.
What I love is we actually work with a lot of retired CPAs as clients. It's kind of fascinating because there's as you as you put out, right, there's a significant difference between tax preparation and tax planning, right? One just to your point, you know, pouring you bourbon and reporting the damage and then you know, gives you the invoice. Then there's others that would sit you down and say look in preparation before like that triggers itself. You know, let's identify where you are, right? One of my favorite quotes is all progress begins with the truth. So here's the truth of where you are. We like to say here's the tax road you're on and then here's the tax road you could be on. And that's the significant difference kind of between an archaeologist as I joke and call tax preparers, they're just recording history versus an architect which is obviously helping you build your taxation.
