Hello. Hello, friends. Christina here with nursingschoolofsuccess.com I'm so excited to get to go live on our YouTube channel. I have a huge announcement for you and we'll get to that in just a few minutes. But first I want to walk through with you. Now that we're entering final season for a lot of you, I wanted to give you five steps to help you ace your final exams in nursing school. So these are the five steps that we talk about all the time in our membership community. And I think I've talked about it here as well on YouTube. But I want to break them down super easy for you. And I also first I want to point out that I linked down below a checklist for you. So I have a whole nursing school study checklist that has a ton of great information for you. And I listed out this five step study process for you on that, that checklist. So make sure to download it after this video and I'm going to walk you through everything that you need to know today in this video. So just make sure that you download it and then you can use it as you're studying for finals. It literally walks you through step by step, how I, how I studied for finals in nursing school and how our students, they just find it so helpful. So just use this as you're studying. I know it'll be helpful for you. So let's walk through it. Now, step number one for studying for final exams is to collect all of your notes, all of the things. I always like to point this out because I know students, actually you kind of forget this. Like, this is often overlooked that you have notes like on your kitchen table and in your car and all the things like in your bedroom, on your bed. Like, I don't know, like you've got notes everywhere, right, like in your locker at school. So just make sure that you're checking all of the places that your notes might be because you might forget things. I know I would sometimes get. This is why I included this step is because I remember that sometimes I would forget that I had notes somewhere and I would actually not study it for the exam or I would like find them like a few days before the exam and freak out because I wasn't studying them the whole time. So just make sure that you collect all of your notes in one place. So that is step number one. Like check everything. Check your kitchen table, in your car, especially because you've got notes everywhere. I just know it. Now step number two is to organize those notes into what I like to call packets. So what I did in a nursing school, I've actually got some of my notes here. I pulled these out from my nursing school and I would like take all of the PowerPoints and study guides, all of my class notes that I took. If I had any like loose pieces of paper, just organize them by topic. And I really like to break them down by topic because you'll cover, you know, a set number of topics every term, like cardiac or respiratory or you know, whatever, all the disorders, whatever disorders you're studying are. If you're in fundamentals, like fluid and electrolytes, pharmacology, just break them down by topic. That way you have a smaller amount, like a smaller chunk of notes to study. Rather than having to go through this whole binder of notes, it really just breaks it down into smaller bite sized pieces for you to study. So break them down so you maybe have like a few of your PowerPoints that cover the same topic. I like to use binder clips to like bind them all together. So like you would like bind, you know, all of your, all of your topic, all of your like PowerPoints or study guides or modules or you know, whatever loose pieces of paper that all relate to one topic. So just binder clip them together. So that's just step number two, just to organize all your notes by topic. And then I really recommend that you have at least, I think seven is a good number. Like at least seven smaller packets to study. Because I mean you look at your binders in nursing school, you guys, good gravy. They're like huge, like giant numbers. Like I just actually, to get my notes for this, I went down and got my binder from, from nursing school from one of the terms that's like huge. They're like four, five inch binders. So I get it. Like you want to pare that down into like smaller chunks, smaller packets for you to study. So I call them packets. Definitely. You know, I would say at least seven is a good number. At least seven. That way you can really break it down into smaller chunks for you to study. Now the second pack, second, third step is to go through each of those packets one at a time. Now do not stress about it as much. Like, I mean definitely you're not studying your entire binder, like that entire 4 or 5 inch binder at one sitting. No, no, no, no. I recommend that you get started on studying for finals at least two weeks beforehand, which for some of you might be now. So get to it. So try to start studying at least two weeks before your final exams for nursing school and then go through one packet at a time. So don't stress about it. Just go through it one packet at a time. And here's what I recommend, is that you take a highlighter and then you highlight what you don't know. I actually did this. I like this. I pulled this out. This is exactly what I did in nursing school. This is my exact study process, which is why I teach it, because it helps me so much. So I went through each of those packets that I just talked about by topic, and then I would highlight the information that I didn't know. So here's the thing. In nursing school, we often have cumulative final exams. So you go through, like 10 weeks if you're in a quarter, or like 16 weeks if you're in a semester. And I don't know what it is for trimesters or something else, whatever kind of program, length of term you're on. But if you have a cumulative final, then you have all of those weeks that you have pretty much forgotten about, right? Like, who remembers what you learned in the first or second week of the term by the time you get to your final exams? But if your finals are cumulative, you have to remember what you. What you studied before. So give yourself grace through this process because you absolutely will find things that you don't know. Like, I highlighted, well, a lot of this page. So this is when I was studying for finals. I went through and highlighted the things that I didn't remember. So that is. Step number three is to highlight only the information that you do not remember. Now you have to give yourself grace through this process because you will not remember everything. You really won't. And that's okay. That's okay. We're going to fix that here in the next step. So now step number four is to take a blank piece of paper and then write out all of the things that you highlighted. Just the things that you highlighted. Friend. Do not rewrite the things that you already know because you already know it. You don't need to study that stuff. Do not waste your time studying things that you already know. I know that it's comforting to go and reread and reread the things that you already know, but it's a waste of time. I know it kind of gives you that confidence. Booze. Oh, yeah, do know something. But just focus on studying the things that you don't know yet, because that is the best use of your time. You don't want to keep rereading things that you Already know. Thanks. Oh, I can't. I don't think I can pronounce your. Your. Sorry. We have a friend that says great. So I don't know if I can pronounce some of your screen names on YouTube. Sorry, guys. I have sometimes a hard time with that. But thank you for the comments. I appreciate it. So make sure that you're only rewriting the things that you don't remember. So, like I said, it does. I definitely remember for me, going through my book and like, rereading and rereading and rereading the same things that I already knew because I found it comforting for some reason. Okay. P says, thank you. Nice tips. I'm glad you find them helpful. I find it comforting to reread and study the things that I already know. Kind of gives you a little bit of a copy confidence boost. You know what I'm saying? But don't do that. Like, try your best not to fall into that rabbit hole. So just go through and look at your packets. Rewrite the highlights, the things that you highlighted in your packets onto a blank piece of paper. And then when you're done with this step, you will have, like, multiple sheets. I mean, it might take, like, multiple sheets of paper the first time. Do not worry. We will fix that. You will know it all by your exam. So that is step number four is to take one packet at a time and then rewrite each of your notes on a separate piece of paper. Then you're going to study it. Step number five is to study it. So these steps, you guys, I'm referring to, if you're just joining us, I'm referring to this checklist that we have. I put that link down below in the description for you. I have a whole checklist to help you study for final. So make sure that you print this off and then use it as your study for finals. It's gonna help you so much. This is the exact study process that I used in nursing school, and I got straight A's in nursing school. And so this is. These are the strategies that I teach because they are the ones that helped me the most for nursing school. So make sure to print this off. Now step number five, so like I said, is to study only the things that you wrote out on that blank sheet of paper, which means that it's only the things that. That you don't know. So don't study the things that you already know. I'm going to really drill that home with you today. So make sure that you're not studying things that you already know and that you're only focusing on the highlights, the things that you highlighted that you didn't know in your packets. So then go through and study only the things that you don't know. And then you're going to repeat the process not with your original packet, but with the new pieces of paper. So I didn't write things down on here, this is just an example. But if you had, you know, written all of your notes that you don't know on those blank pieces of paper and then you're going to repeat the process and go through again, highlight the things you don't know, and then you're going to do it again. You're going to study only the things that you highlighted because those are the things that you still don't know. Is this making sense? I hope that you guys are tracking with me because this is super helpful for you for final exams. It just keeps everything really, really organized and in a really nice sequence and makes sure that you're studying effectively and you're using your time efficiently. So only study the things that you don't know. Then you're gonna go through all of these loose pieces of paper that you've got, covering all the topics and then highlight again the things that you don't yet know after you studied it, and then again rewrite those things on a new sheet of paper and do it again and again and again until you know it all. Friend. I know this is gonna take time, which is why I say that give yourself about two weeks to do this before final exams. I am personally in nursing school. I started about two weeks before the exams to study to give myself enough time to do all of this. I think that timeline is pretty helpful depending on how much content you have. But you know, make sure that it fits well for you. So that is the study process I have. If you're just joining us now, make sure that you print this off. It's a checklist that I have, actually. It's a whole checklist for how to study in nursing school. This is just one page of it, but it is so, so helpful for you. I put that link down below in the description for you to check out. Just step by step how to study in nursing school for, you know, actually I cover med surg and then just study tips. But then for this is how to study for finals. So I hope this is helpful for you. I know we had a couple comments coming in. Thank you guys so much for your support. Now I want to let you know I said at the beginning that I have a huge announcement for you, and I do.
