All right. Key NCLEX tip number 12 this is huge. Only do things that are within your scope of practice as the nurse to do. Okay, so here are some questions that you might get stuck on. You cannot change a doctor's prescription. You cannot delegate patient assessments to an LPN or cna, and you cannot dilute medications. And you cannot get informed consent for the patient before surgery. That is the doctor's job or the surgeon's job. It is the RN's job to witness and verify that consent was given. But you cannot yourself get that informed consent. That is the surgeon's job. So I hope these help you the next time you're taking your nursing school exam. Make sure you keep these in mind when you are presented with a scope of practice question on your nursing school exam. And good luck.
